Ah! The old Shelly Banks, The only bit of beach for the Dub's. Hard to swim when the water is only ankle deep. But the kite surfing is great crack. Always a popular spot with everyone, just watch the weather, not nice in the rain.

I went to Shelley's Bank car park. The car park and the views are amazing. However, there is no bank, this is just a silly name and one which wasted my time trying to transfer money to my auntie in the US. The swim made me feel better and the walk flagged my ailing spirits but I am still super annoyed ๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™ve always parked here when it comes to going to the Poolbeg lighthouse or the locations closeby. Very good area. Would definitely choose this many times over. Parking is free as well which makes this even a much more better experience.

A lovely quet place during the week, there is a little cove or beach. When the tide is out you can walk right out.

Fantastic spot for sunrise. But be extra careful! On or near high tide, it can be dangerous, boats in the port entrance can create large waves which can overwhelm the pier. Also if the wind is strong and this, coupled with a neap tide causes waves to inundate the breakwater from other side. It is easy to get cut off and stranded there, with a strong risk of being washed in by waves. Best after high tide, and allow approximately 25 minutes to 30 minutes to get to the end. Good spot for spinning for mackerel in the summer months, Ray also have been taken inside close to the green bouy,.
