I stayed here for 2 nights, it was very overpriced for what it was. The most important things like the bed and bathroom were relatively clean. You can't really expect sparkling clean accommodation in a hostel. There wasn't a lock on the dorm door. There were more people in our dorm than advertised; there was supposed to be 6 but it was actually 8 crammed into the small room. There was only one bathroom so the wait in the morning was long. The room was right by the outdoor smoking area and on one night the guests stayed chatting there until 4.30am. It was so noisy I only managed to get about 3 hours sleep. It was extremely hot in the dorm with no aircon and tiny windows. It would be unbearable in the summer. Guests would stare and made me uncomfortable. The few positives were the location and the comfortable beds.

Although we booked for two, specifically to stay in the same room, we were separated. The hostel would be too busy. They could at least notify us. After we complained twice about the circumstances, it was suddenly possible to put us together. During our stay some beds were vacant, sometimes for several nights. The bathroom was dirty. There was hair and debris in the drain which clogged the drain. It smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in 4 years. After our complaint we were assured it'd be taken care of after our departure. Somehow this is doubtful. The ceiling plaster flaked off and had a lot of dirt and it wasn’t white anymore. More like grey/green because of the mold. Quite apart from the high humidity and the mold in the bathrooms. What was particularly fatal about this matter was that only one window in our room could be opened and the humidity was therefore particularly high. At night it was sometimes unbearable to breathe because the roommates dimmed or closed the windows due to the cold The breakfast is sad. The selection is very limited and overall it didn't convince us. Except for milk we bought everything extra. No corona measures were taken, let alone complied with. But the reception was always manned and someone from the hostel staff was always available. You should take a adapter socket for your electronic devices. Also bring your own locks because they don’t have enough to rent.

Overpriced. Dirty beds. Decrepit bathrooms. Zero security. Unwashed sheets and food and tissues under the bed and in the locker. Bathrooms falling apart. Almost got my feet cut. The cheapest breakfast possible. Two loaves of white bread. One container of margarine and some jam. All run out by 9/930am. No luggage storage. In a dodgy area. Zero security. Long termers jammed screws into dorm locks. With no security and many homeless people around it’s only a matter of time till the whole place gets ransacked.

Easily the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed at. The rooms were hot a humid, WiFi seldom worked, bathrooms were disgusting with no toilet paper. For the price you pay, this should be at least a a decent hostel, but this place is not compatible with human life. Also, the power went out for an extended period of time, and it is on a loud street! I would’ve felt safer sleeping in a nearby park.

The hostel is okay. The staff is so nice, and the kitchen is okay, not much, but you can use it freely and the breakfast is fine too, some bread with jam or cheese and some cereals and milk, tea and coffee. Bathrooms are fine, they were clean when I stayed here. But there is a lot of work to do with accommodations. First of all the rooms. They don't have the keys and that was scary. You need to be extra careful with your belongings, you need a lock or more. The beds are fine but the curtains are broken in many of them. And the place itself looks like there has been some part of the whole construction missing. So okay, but I'm not satisfied with the price. I think they should either lower the price or do something about some of these problems.

The worst lodging I’ve ever had. Rooms were humid, bathroom was dirty and had no toilet paper, Wi-Fi seldom worked and was very poor when it did. For the price you pay, use it to stay somewhere else. Especially if you’re a group traveling. Location was fine, but street was loud the entire night. Breakfast was embarrassing. The 5 star reviews seem to be fake. Stay literally anywhere else in Dublin.

Its good. Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also clean. Not so bad. Have to take care of your belongings. Don’t loose your key card.

Will remember this place because it's the first shelter I got in Dublin. Though the rooms were quite cramped, breakfast they provided was very simple, there were bread loaves, jams, chocolate spread, honey, 2 types of cereals, milk, coffee power, sugar and 1-2 juice boxes which were empty everyday. Yet I happen to meet with some great Christian friends from across the world, who are now in my contacts.

It's okay and it's nearby city centre, but the service was not what i expect from a hostel. When you check in, the receptionist only give you a keycard and little explaining about the rules. They give you a bed number in room X and that's it. I would love to see that the receptionist is explaining more about the city and what you can find etc. Second is that the door for room F (58/68) doesn't require a keycard. You can just go inside. I find that very unsafe, because everyone could just enter the room, take some stuff and leave the place. Please fix that. Third thing is the hygene at the bathrooms. In my last 2 days, the toilets were full of **** in the morning. And the door for the last shower on bathroom at the 3rd floor couldn't close... Overal it's okay but don't expect to much from this hostel.

If you choose an hostel, you have to know clearly pros and cons of sharing a bedroom and bathrooms with strangers. Nonsense in complaining about it in here. Personally had no problem with my roomates, room was clean, my bed was cozy and warm. The air circulation can be improved, bathrooms obviously get full of steam when 6 people get a shower one after the other. Staff was polite to me, and the cleaning ladies do a great job to keep the place tidy.

Good value for money! We stayed in Dublin City Dorms as we were looking for the most affordable option to stay in Dublin for one night. The location is close to the city centre and has two bus stops in 5 min walking area from where you can get to the airport. The room itself was tidy, the bed was fresh and comfortable. There is a place under the bed where you can store your luggage (ask for a lock on a reception). To rent towels, you would need to pay an extra 2,5 euro. The bathroom was on a dirtier side and sinks are uncomfortable to use. The hostel also has a lounge space and a kitchen, but we didn't use any of that. We were offered breakfast even if we were moving out at 5 AM. The staff was VERY polite and willing to help us with any question. Thank you! Conclusion: I wouldn't stay there if I weren't on a budget, but the overall experience was OK. 100% better than wandering around or staying at the airport all night :)

Decent place, quite noisy though, the kitchen is a bit messy and the building is outdated, they do have Netflix and prime if that makes it any easier. Breakfast is just toast, fruit etc. But for the price it's fine in my opinion. Did not use the shower facility but from the looks it's not the most cleanest, would advise going here with loads of luggage as there not a lot of space to store stuff.

Great hostel for people on a budget . Lovely staff on reception and the coffee shop. A great cleaning team . My only constructive feedback would be to do the bathrooms and rooms up a bit as they are a little tired but always spotlessly clean. But it's a great price and the location is brilliant. Well done

We’re we’re there as a group of three (2 Girls) and we didn’t felt comfortable. The room was overbooked. Our room was very hot , with little to none possibility to change the air. Directly in front of the small window is the smoking area, which makes it really hard to get both: quiet sleep and clean air. We had some Ill guys in our room which we’re coughing. Unfortunately there was no possibility to change our room and the provider didn’t really cared about a solution. The showers were nice though. I’d really like to give a better review, but that is our experience.

Had a great time at Dublin City Dorms. It's got an amazing location right around Dublin thriving night life and is just a short walk away from a really lovely park and some cool museums. The rooms were clean and check in was a breeze. My only complaint was I couldn't stay longer

The location is good, close to aircoach bus stop "O’Connell Street" around 3 mins walking distance. Cannot expect too much for the price. The kitchen and room are clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. Good option for short stay.

This was one of the worst hostels I have stayed at. I can resume our stay as sticky and stinky, specially the kitchen and the bathrooms. The bathrooms have lots of fungus, the bedroom is directly over a very loud street (all day and all night long) and the staff is not really friendly. And all this vor a VERY high price, after paying what I paid I was expecting at least an "ok" hostel. The building is also really weird, we had the feeling we went through the storage room with stuff laying around everytime we went from the lobby to the dorms. The smoking area is directly beside the kitchen, so we ate always between sticky-fried-stuff-area and a cigarette cloud. Next door is the common area, so we didn't spend time there either. The breakfast is really poor: some dry cookies, sometimes some sweet pastry (like a package laying around), 2 cereals, cow milk, plastic orange juice (not always), chocolate spread, some jams and honey, sometimes cheese, bread. Twice there were some oranges laying around. Two stars because the bed was comfy, the wifi was good and the cleaning girls really deserve it, they were quick, helpful and always very friendly.

My friend and I made a booking for 2 , and when we did the check in , we were allocated in different rooms even though at the check in time, most of my friends room was empty. This evening, before getting into our rooms we went to the reception to double check if there was any space left to be together in a room and the dark haired reception lady was very rude to us, she spoke in bad manners and very disproportionate to the enquiry we were making. I do not recommend staying here at all It was not a cheap stay, as the 3 nights were 350 euros and the service was shameful!

We booked specifically a room together as a group, they put most of us in one room and a single person in another common room (I see from other reviews it’s their standard, apparently) Not a clean place. Breakfast was not good. Definitely not recommended.

I've booked two beds for myself and my friend, however they put us in two different rooms, saying that the place was fully booked. When going to our rooms, there were quite a few beds available. Upon our return at around 10pm, the beds were still available. We asked the receptionist if she could double check and put us in the the same room. She was extremely rude, saying that it didn't matter if we booked together and there was nothing she could do (even though there were several beds and people didn't check in yet, meaning she could move single travellers around). My friend and I never felt more uncomfortable and disrespected by a hostel receptionist before. I'm definitely not coming back nor recommending this place to anyone.
