If I could give 0 stars I would do it. First, the reception of the hostel was horrible. The guy, from Uruguay, mocking about the amount of luggage that we have, even he start laughing with other people in front of us and was not helpful at all. So, feeling a bit sad and strange in this new country, it was a bummer. People in the kitchen stole food that had our names, they never cleaned the tables or electronic devices as the microwave and the fridge (fridge smelled so bad everyday). The bathrooms doesn’t always had hot water and they never had paper towel. In the rooms, if you were staying for more than 1 week they don’t give new clean sheets. They don’t speak English(most Portuguese). I would never never EVER recommend this place. Don’t waste your money and time.

Pros: - Cheapest place I could find in Dublin, £60/night (though it’s not worth it) - Is a roof over your head if you want to stay in Dublin for cheap Cons: - Staff gave me the wrong keycard upon arrival, had to go back and get the right one - I had the top bunk with a ladder up, which was slippery and there weren’t adequate handrails on so I fell onto the floor climbing down one morning - Bedside lockers are ludicrously small, I was barely able to squeeze my bag into it, and you have to bring your own padlock for them - They charge a tenner for a towel - The toilets don’t flush properly and as a result I saw someone’s poo in one of them - Smells weird - No shower mats - Would not recommend

The only reason i’m putting one star is because 0 isn’t an option. The first night here my door didn’t work (the key reader was out of batteries), therefore every time I wanted to go into my room I had to go down four flights of stairs to get someone at the front, then go back up four flights to get them to open it with their key. Imagine having to go to the bathroom @2am:). After doing this the whole time, I talked with them at checkout about this inconvenience and they said nothing could be done. Not a reduced price, coupon for our next stay, nothing. Unfortunately had to extend our stay here due to plans on our trip moving around. Thought it would be better this time! Booked a mixed dorm for my friend and I (both 19 year old females from the other side of the world). We only felt comfortable in a mixed suite because we would be together. They moved us to separate rooms. To add to this all my door doesn’t work again!! Although this time the issue isn’t that it wouldn’t accept the key cards but this time it won’t lock. All night and day my belongings and myself were open to anyone in the hostel! Never stay here seriously. They have no care for your well being. I have stayed in plenty of hostels while backpacking and never encountered something so ridiculous. I won’t even mention the state of the bathrooms and their lack of toilet paper, cleanliness and even function

Its an okay hostel! Location is really close to the city center. However when you book there are some things that are good to know before hand. - main level and second level dont have rooms and there is no elevator and the stairs are long so prepare your legs ;) -the room i had was filled with exchange students that where staying there for a longer time, no problem, but the girl next to me made the room a big mess and even left a gross sticky residue next to my bed that she didnt bother to clean for the 3 days i was there(and i think it was there longer) and since its a hostel nobody else cleaned it either -the beds do get super hot after a few hours of sleeping, so dont pack pyjamas that are too warm,or else you will get a free sauna ;) -the tempature of the showers where perfect for me,however the shower space is really small and after a couple of seconds the shower will turn off, so if you have thick hair that you want to shampoo and rinse you will have to press the button a couple of times -i accidently dropped my keycard under the bed, when i moved the matress to look under the bed to get my card i was schoked at all the trash that was there -beware when you are charching your phone and you want to open your locker: the usb port and the locker door will "touch" i almost broke my usb cable that way ;) -Locker space is on the smaller side and you need to bring your own lockpad(they dont sell or rent ones in the hostel) Again, the hostel is okay, but there is room for improvement in my opinion ;)

They are a brand new hostel, that’s why they don’t have reviews yet. I was skeptical at first but everything else was booked so we had to go with them. I’m glad we did!

Excellent hostel to stay in Dublin, good value for money. The room and common areas were very clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful when I needed. The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the city center.

Clean, quiet at night, comfy beds and most exciting for a hostel; PRIVACY CURTAINS!!! Hostels are crowded places and there is no greater luxury than being able to close some privacy curtains when you want to get some much needed sleep. There's also a dining area with microwaves, toasters and a convention oven. As this is a sustainable travel location an elevator is not available unfortunately for those who require wheelchair access which is important to note should this be a requirement.

This hostel is not bike friendly. It does not allow bicycles in the premises, and in particular does not allow them to be safely stored overnight. This meant I had to chain my bike outside. Dublin has a terrible record for bike and bike part theft, even if chained. I chained it outside and removed both the front wheel and saddle, and was lucky to find the remainder there the next morning. There is plenty of space inside the hostel, e.g. in the back garden, where bikes could be stored. I have been cycling around Ireland for years. This is the only overnight accommodation that could not provide somewhere to safely store a cycle. I would have thought that supporting greener forms of travel was important. The only reason I chose to stay here for a night is that when I booked about 10 days before there was no cancellation policy that allowed me to get my money back. I did like the hostel, but fear of losing my bike didn't make it a very relaxing night!

Ridiculous prices, but thats Dublin. Cleaner and nicer than expected, bathroom was fine (but did not shower) and cubby bed in 3-room dorm comfortable even if I could have done without the steep ladder to the bunk bed. Locker fitted a backpack and a large handbag. Staff dont bother to give you info on how the weird lock works though, so ask! Bring your own padlock, but honestly they could sell padlocks. The convenience store round the corner does for 4€! Communal area was clean enough (typical hostel) but friges overfull. Very annoying that staff spoke more Spanish or Portugese than English and so it was hard to communicate and have tips on the area answered. Area is a bit rough and grimy, but 30 min walk to town, sights and temple bar felt safe.

My stay has been gratifying and without inconveniences, the shared rooms are comfortable and it is always clean and tidy. As for the common areas, the bathrooms are sometimes dirty but they try to keep them in optimal conditions. A cozy, well-lit environment, I highlight the common areas such as the study rooms, which are always clean and tidy.

It’s been a really good experience so far. People who work here are incredibly friendly and help us whenever and however we need. The environment is awesome and the place is really cozy. The bedroom is big and you can even have some space for yourself since the you can close your bed’s curtains. It’s located near downtown so it’s really easy to find it and take a walk around. You can find restaurantes nearby, markets and a pharmacy as well.

Receptionist Daniel was a life saver last night! I misplaced my passport book with my passport, driver's license, social security card, credit cards, and about 1500 in USD cash and Daniel returned this to me with all in tact. He truly saved me from a hellish turn to my vacation. I can't thank this place enough l. And especially Daniel, OBRIGADO! It takes a very good person to return something like that and I am so thankful. If I'm ever back in Ireland I will absolutely stay here again!

The rooms are very spacious and the beds are large and offer a lot of privacy. The locker is a bit small so bigger bags can't be locked up, but the rooms and stairway up to the rooms are locked. The service is good, they have a cheaper restaurant in the basement which offers options for meals. The staff are also kind and ensure that only the right people are entering the locked parts of the hostel. The location is pretty good and is close to many interesting places to go in Dublin.

The rooms and beds were clean and the bed was comfortable. However the receptionists weren't that friendly. We asked could one person in the group go into our room as that person was in a room on their own and wasn't feeling well. Staff were very unhelpful and said we couldn't do that as 'it would bug housekeeping'! Most bizarre and ridiculous excuse. We even offered to take our own bedsheets. From the moment we arrived their was just a whole unhelpful attitude! Wouldnt stay again.

It is unacceptable for a place like this to allow its customers' things to disappear, and they are not interested in seeing the cameras to find out who took our belongings, the Hostel employee said that he could do nothing but report to the Guard. I'm still staying here because we paid for 30 days in advance, they're not doing us any favors, it's their obligation to serve their customers well

It’s a very nice place. The Leevin Hostel have a playground zone so you can share with other people and the rooms are very comfortable. In addition the cleaning is very good.

Okay for a short stay, however, it's a bit overpriced for what the hostel can offer. Hostel is like 20 min walking to the city center. There is a tram line nearby as well as small pubs/clubs, but the street where the hostel is located is quiet at night. They have 24h reception, which is good if you arrive with a late flight or need to take an early flight. The staff was very friendly. The hostel doesn't have an elevator and we had to take the stairs to the third floor. Luckily we traveled light (1 bag) but we had to rent towels, something I wish was included in the booking. On the other hand, the beds, pillows, and blankets were super comfortable and I slept like a baby. Even though we stayed in a mixed dorm where the lights are always on, we still hade some privacy and could sleep in a dark space. The shared bathrooms were clean but the water was too hot in the shower. There were social rooms, restaurant, and a fridge were you could store your food/drinks (make sure to write your name and hope people are respectful), but we didn't use those facilities. There were also a locked room where you could store your bags. Overall quite nice place.

I recently stayed at this hostel, and there were some positives that stood out. First, the bed was surprisingly comfortable and more spacious compared to the nearby Jacobs Inn Hostel, which is a pleasant surprise given the lower price point. Speaking of affordability, the nightly rates here are quite budget-friendly. However, there were some notable downsides to my stay. The check-in experience seemed inconsistent, with some staff members being friendly and efficient, while others prioritized other tasks, leaving me waiting for a few minutes. Another factor to consider is the lack of a lift, with rooms spanning three floors. If mobility is a concern, be prepared to climb two flights of stairs for each floor level. But the biggest disappointment was the hygiene situation in the men's toilets. While I can't comment on the women's facilities, multiple reviews have raised concerns about cleanliness. The urinals consistently had issues, and the showers felt cramped and prone to water pooling due to flexible flooring. The toilets didn't flush properly, and throughout the day, bins next to them were often overflowing with tissues. Addressing these cleanliness issues would significantly improve the overall experience, and I would then be inclined to give this place a 4-star rating.

The hostel is located in a quiet street near to upper O'Connel Street. It is very near to the city centre. The rooms are okay, also the beds but if you don't have a ground bed it is quite uncomfortable. The elevator is a big lack, too many stairs fro the third floor. Common areas are good and the reception also. Good solution if you need to stay for a couple of days.

Beds were comfortable, clean and private. The garden was also very nice. However the bathroom was a bit outdated and there are too many stairs and no lift. I get that the building is old, but the place is a bit over-priced for what it can offer. Additionally, I had a minor accident on the street and there was no first-aid kit, something I believe every hotel/hostel should have. All in all my stay was fine and the staff did the best they could, but I wouldn't say it's value for money.

Hostel is fine. the hostel is fine. the staff is also very friendly and helpful. but they must pay more attention to cleaning, especially the rooms and beds. I personally found hair on my bed.

  • 5/5 Jack G. 5 months ago on Google
This place rules. Kitchen, rooms are quiet spaces, if you need an even quieter space there’s one designated. Laundry services, dishes, really this is the whole package. Not a bad price either.

My brother and I were shocked. The rooms are bare. At check-in, they failed to mention that there was no electricity in the rooms at that time as it was being fixed. This means there was nowhere to charge your phone and no light next to your bed. In the morning after a hostel-like night's sleep, they thought it would be a good idea to close off the bathrooms for cleaning at 08:30 in the morning. Simply idiotic. We decided to grab breakfast somewhere else and come back for a shower later. The state in which I met the bathroom in was despicable. A skidmark quite impressively around the whole toilet bowl, with urine and toilet paper on the floor. The shower is a button that you must press in for water. Except this depresses in approximately two seconds, requiring constant attention to be able to shower. When we came down to reception, the gentleman was on his telephone and smiling at his texts, requiring our initiative to grab his attention. Lastly, the location. It's approximately a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre. This isn't too bad. However, during our stay, we had seen a drug deal in the street and people urinating on the street. We later found out this is a pretty typical Dublin experience. In the end, we checked out early. You get what you pay for, and this is one of the cheapest. I strongly recommend spending a bit more money and going somewhere else.

I would like to say thank you for all attention starting from the booking and the check in. The hostel was clean, with a great location ( it is within walking distance to many tourist attractions, stores, supermarket, basically city centre ) and very kind and helpful staff. All the staffs are really happy, patient and friendly. The front desk was amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.” I had a great stay, no complaints.

I still have one more week to stay here, in general I really liked the place, it's quite big, all the rooms are spacious, the bed is very comfortable. However, there is no way to give the maximum score since in 6 days I only took a hot shower, in addition to the lack of stoves in the kitchen.

I lived in this hostel for 1 night from 28 to 29 September. Be prepared for the fact that you will be robbed and the staff will do nothing. There are no cameras, no storage lockers either. this happened to me, a neighbor stole a laptop from my suitcase while I was sleeping.

Perfect for a one night stay. A bit pricy for hostel standards, but it’s actually one of the cheapest places in Dublin one can find. Comfortable beds and big advantage of having one bathroom per room instead of huge shared one.

It’s a good place to stay a few nights in central of Dublin :) Had two nights in a 8 person bedroom and what should I say - I had not much sleep in there. But It’s not the fault of the Hostel. It’s weekend and so there are party people :D I expected this. The hostel is really nice and clean. The beds had drapes - so It’s no problem when lights are on in the room. The beds were comfortable and the reception guys were very friendly. I also had a breakfast in the Hostel Café. The price was very good and the quality ok for that price :) All in all: I‘ll come back when I need a bed for a short stay in Dublin.

  • 1/5 Cristian R. 1 year ago on Google
Definitely I won't back. To begin, the light in the bed is not working, they have billiards but the stick are broken, it doesn't have items to cook, when I try to get a shower they delay 1 hour to clean it up, and finally I have to pay 50€ (one extra night) because i made checkout 1 hour later. Because the staff was clean in up the bathroom and the key of the room fall down between the wall and a safe fox and we tried to take it out.

I stayed at Leevin Hostel for a of couple days. I was pleaselly well received by the receptionists, which is amazing once I had just arrived and didn't know much about the city location and best spots to visit, they gave me the best tips. They were all so sweet and whiling to help me anytime I needed. Besides, I found many facilities what we don't usually find in hostels, as laundry and a kitchen well equiped. The free luggage room was handy by the way! I highly recommend, worth it the price. :)

I loved the experience I had at the hostel. A great hostel for anyone starting their journey in Dublin, excellent facilities, proactive and lively staff and a complete structure that served me very well. The reception staff is super attentive and the rooms are very cozy.

Stayed in a 2-person room with a friend for 1 night. This hostel seems new, and it was pretty barebones in terms of furniture. That said, the space was safe and clean, and the check-in process was easy.

It is really nice 6 female ensuite Big room also got nice view At least enough for 6 people Although the stairs are quite annoying, cannot imagine if u have big luggage The staffs are friendly and helpful The bathroom is also very big and clean

In this place they do not give you good attention, they did not notify me on time about my checkout and they broke my security locker since I had requested an extension of my stay but they did not connect the days so that I could stay in the time that I should have be. It was a very disappointing situation to have found myself in the street with all my things due to negligence of the place, on top of that they did not want to return all my things to me until I had to claim more. Be careful in this place.

(Translated by Google) We rented the apartments, they were nice and comfortable, but the issue is that none of the 4 receptionists knew how to solve anything !!! There was no heating and they could not solve it for us throughout the stay.
