Deplorable emergency services to be avoided; they don't care about you and won't help you, worse...My daughter had the worst expérience of her life in the emergency of this hospital where she thought she was going to die and all the staff didn't care and lied to her always saying that the doctor would come in a minute; she waited on a chair alone in a little room during 6 hours of interminable nightmare - hourswhile she had heartache, increasing difficulty in breathing and a fever so high that she wasin pain. She cried for help, fell to the ground because she felt so bad, and everyone ignored her. She was suffucating, dizzy, vomiting, they locked her in this little glass room next to a covid case. She had very bad headhache, was burning whith fever, and when she saw finally the doctor, he only asked 3 questions, didn't even oscultate her and don't take her fever, gave her one paracetamol pill only and ordered her to leave the hospital in the middle of the night , all alone and feeling very ill and weak with only paracetamol on the prescription. When i called to ask about her i was told that she was doing very well and had been discharged from hospital. All liars. What revolting incompétence!

Positiv things first - the nurses are very polite and helpful, the waiting time for an appointment is also not too long. But this is it then. The doctors/surgeons however are only good to make excuses and tell you to f... o.. without telling you so. I was told not to come back as there's no one in this place who would do what's necessary. They're so much afraid of possible complications that they don't even try, no matter what that means to the patient. They also don't care for second opinions from other specialists in the same field. They're opinion is the one and only. If you ever in need for a vascular surgeon, don't bother going there. It's wasted time and it certainly was the worst experience I ever had in a hospital.

Most efficient ED Dept. Within the Cork public hospitals. Diagnosis and Scans carried out efficiently and effectively Within a short space of time. Staff amazing. Highly qualified and knowledgable Ship leader highly efficient. Runs a very smooth and efficient operation.

Avoid if you want to be alive! They discharged my friend forcefully saying nothing wrong but he was begging not to release cause he was having extreme pain. He had to admit to Cork University Hospital again the same day and he is gone in 24 hours.

The people going door to door fundraising for the mercy hospital should really ask if people are interested in doing so first before making their big speech . I was told today I should of said something and to not waste peoples time and I wasn’t even given a chance to say anything !!!

Should be moved to a suitable location. No parking, no signage, straight to money which looks from the 1970s. Appointment was an expensive waste of time. Won't ever ask for a referral here no wonder I got an appointment so fast. I feel sorry for anyone working and attending here. Staff did their best is all I can really say.

Spent 24 hours in this hospital this week.. was given a trolley in a ward, no problems there, within 15 minutes I overheard two female doctors gossiping about me and my personal life which was extremely upsetting, when I confronted a doctor she said I was confused and I didn't hear properly... Also when I heard the doctor ask the two women they both denied it, which is a scary situation to be in while in a hospital alone, completely incompetent, I will be taking this further.

I recently attended the Mercy Hospital in Cork for surgery and after care (in Saint Patrick's ward). I honestly cannot speak highly enough of the care I received in this hospital from all the staff, the consultants, the highly qualified and experienced nursing staff and all the rest of the staff especially when one considers how busy they all were. I have often heard it said that the atmosphere in the Mercy is of "a homely nature" and I could not agree more. Many thanks to you all.

If I could rate this hospital with minus stars I would. Please please do not take yourself or your loved ones to this hospital! You would receive better care in a 3rd world county. Healthcare is the pits in Ireland but this hospital takes the absolute p***. Staff are rude, consultants lie & they don’t allow you to have input in your own healthcare. They fail to follow HSE policies. If you are advocating or next of kin of someone dear to you, you are completely dismissed. As I tried to look after my terminally ill mother, both she & I were denied information & I was told as next of kin I’m only an emergency contact & only needed for collections. Your concern’s of care are not taken seriously & misconstrued as abusive. No discharge provided by the hospital into community services, no care plan provided to help provide quality of life at the end of mums life. Avoid this hospital at all costs.

If I could rate this hospital with minus stars I would. Please please do not take yourself or your loved ones to this one, it’s the worst hospital I have ever dealt with in my time. Staff are rude, consultants lie & they don’t allow you to have input in your loved ones healthcare. They fail to follow HSE policies. If you are advocating or next of kin of someone dear to you, you are completely dismissed. As we tried to advocate for our terminally ill father in law (left on a surgical ward for 10 days, awaiting a 10 minute procedure). Your concern’s of care are not taken seriously & misconstrued as abusive. Avoid this hospital at all costs unless you want to die.

Not a personal experience but a mentally unstable man was recently moved from St Michael's mental hospital to a general ward here and he later beat an 89 year old man to death with a Zimmer frame. Whoever authorised that needs a manslaughter charge.

I just spoke to a lady in Alliance Medical for MRI who cut me short about me questioning how I can get a cover from my private health for 280 euro MRI scan. As the referal came from my dentist I am not covered, but if it comes from my GP I can get 70% back for an MRI (anyone would try and get some money back for this obsene cost) The friendly lady told me “ok I have loads on” and hung up on me. Irish healcare is pathetic.

Currently here with my partner disaster is an understatement!! Waiting over 7hrs with chest pain’s & finding it hard to breathe with history of a clot!! A poor patient vomited on the floor not cleaned up a sheet over it!! It’s the worst so called hospital I have ever had the misfortune to come to!! They will tell people wear a mask but not clean up vomit.. I’m not even a patient & feel sick to my stomach it’s a state of a place!! Not blaming the staff they are under severe pressure & understaffed.. we are terrified of picking up something by just sitting in the waiting area it’s a scary situation to be in!!

I was in emergency department of Mercy hospital for my daughter. The nurses, doctors and other staff are very helpful and caring. A big thank you for taking care of my daughter. 👍 The only issue I faced was that their was only one toilet for the parents. I lost my daughter's shoes in the room in which I was staying. 😬

The care I received at the Mercy was top class. It was my first time using any of the medical facilities in Cork and honestly it had to be my best experience to date. Everyone from the specialists, to the nurses and student nurses and support staff were beyond caring and attentive. I ended up spending a week here and the recovery they were able to give was beyond anything I could have anticipated or hoped for. Beyond grateful

Sharing my personal experience. I had an emergency. We went to the hospital on the weekend. Doctors , nurses and other staff are very kind and caring. They treated me very well and also followed the best procedure that was required. It is a public + private hospital. I paid 80€ in total for complete treatment which is very less. Thank you to hospital staff for the fast and good treatment.

The treatment was successful, further treatment will be continued, I have already been notified of the dates. Thank you to Doctor Derek Hennessey and all personel st Patrick's ward.

I am disgusted at the lack of parking facilities at thr Mercy Hospital. Being unable to park disappoints not only the visitor, but also the patient who probably has waited all day to see a relative or friend. I am not against progress but surely a bit of thought could have gone into some sort of parking, yes alternatives are suggested but for someone who is disabled and needs a wheelchair these are impractical.

I had to attend the Mercy Hospital A&E this week three times due to an infection. The first day I was seen within an hour of arrival and was back out within three hours total. The other two days I was in and out quickly again. It wasn’t just the speed that I was happy about. The care and treatment I received from Advanced Nurse Practitioner Anne was absolutely fantastic. She was amazing and I hope that the hospital brings more personnel like her into that department! Bravo A&E!!!

A horrible 3rd world type of hospital. Just spoke to a nurse on the phone in in the ER about my son who is very sick and all she said was I'm not having this conversation tell him go to another hospital this was at 1.50. pm Sunday before Xmas. 2021. Very callous ATTITUDE in the ER dept. They don't CARE. I hope this individual gets a taste of her own medicine some day.

I recently had reason to visit here for the first time since my Late Aunt was an in-patient for 5months early 2021-lockdown. It was quite an emotional time as I yet again experienced and recalled the kind and exceptional care of the staff of this hospital. Back then it was by phone and my auntie's first-hand experience in their care in what was a very challenging time. My visit to John and having the privilege of meeting him in person in the shop today brought it all back to how much his kindness has meant all this time - those bottles of cold 7up that he would drop to the ward were the highlights in auntie Eileen's evening & part of letting her know we were thinking of her, A very Special Thank You again to All.

I have an old neck injury that has resulted in chronic and at times, acute pain. I specifically want to thank Dr Donal Harney and the Pain Clinic staff at MUH for the amazing work they do. My recent pain block has transformed my life. Thank you!

Empathic staff, friendly and hardworking from what I was able to observe. Parking is €3 per hour on a tiny car park with some 10 spaces. You're really lucky if you can get one. Wait times are looooong. 2 hours for. Doc to see my sick child. Not the staff's fault, but low staff numbers are prevalent everywhere.

If you need to go to the hospital for treatment, then is the Mercy Hospital in my opinion the best, because it's local and the staff and service is very good

A madman dashed through the halls in nothing but his underpants with curtain tied around his neck, exclaiming "tra la laaa!" all night, in a futile escape attempt.
