👍👍 The first rule of the Hacienda is don't talk about the Hacienda......Dublins greatest secret bar....hidden away in the markets, only open after a ring on the doorbell and a testing interrogation by the owner. The first rule of the Hacienda is don't talk about the Hacienda......Dublins greatest secret bar....hidden away in the markets, only open after a ring on the doorbell and a testing interrogation by the owner. Leads you in to a 70s museum of kitsch, tunes on, Cash Only....two pool tables and walls covered in photos of actors who wrapped movies and parties there, Oscar winners have grace the hallowed seats. It's a must visit if you find it and pass the entrance test...

Wasn't allowed in because we rang the buzzer twice. No answer on the first buzzer so we waited a few minutes and buzzed again - got greeted by a guy in a weird looking robe saying they don't allow people in if they press the buzzer like that. Might have been the owner but he was a bit of a prick

Always good during the week - quiet, chilled out, and cash only. Right across from the fruit market in Smithfield, but it is easy to walk by if you don't know the place (it might appear that it is closed from the outside). To gain access you'll probably need to ring the doorbell for Shay to let you in.

Hidden gem of Dublin. Unique ambience and experience. You will enjoy the decoration while sipping your Irish beer. You have to ring the bell and the owner will see you in the camera and let you in. I have heard that sometimes he does not let people in if the place is too crowded but I was there three times and every time I could get it. This place opens at 20.30!

What a charming little spot! I've never heard of it. I love how the owner checks you out and asks you a few questions before letting you in. Ha! Really nice place, great atmosphere. Pool table and lovely vibe to the place. Walls are covered in photos of celebrities! New fave spot in Dublin.

Love this pub. Quirky with a great atmosphere. Plenty of Tayto crisps with good value on the pints. Shay is sound and be prepared to be vetted at the door. Cash only. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great place to check out! It’s unique, cozy, and cool. The owner was welcoming. The regulars were great to talk to. Best Guinness around!

What a pity .we went 2h ago and the owner told us that this place is forbidden for tourists .he apologised with the excuses like “I can’t except the entrance to the people I don’t know .so disrespectful for us .I don’t know maybe cause we are almost 2meters me and my buddy and was afraid of us .such a bad attitude ,arrogant .sorry for him .

Would love to give it a review, but every single time I go there I'm told "too full" or "not tonight" I've gone there with my friend 3 or 4 times and each time we're refused with empty reasons as to why. We're well dressed, often completely sober and very polite. Not quite sure what we have to do to "pass the test" but I can only imagine he's making enough money to turn away good business for absolutely no reason. I understand the aura of "exclusivity" but I'm not begging to gain entrance to a pub.

Literally the greatest pub in the world, the one I most look forward to going to visit, and Shay is a living legend. Viva la Hacienda!

Nice secluded place. It does fill up fast so best get there early or on a quiet night. Has pool tables and great atmosphere. Cash only.

Note: this bar only accepts CASH! This was my first time going to The Hacienda Bar and what a treat it was! From the uniquely beautiful interior design to the cosiness of the place & lovely staff, I would highly recommend! We were there for a cast & crew after party for the film we worked on and felt very welcomed!

This is a great pub for Guinness and a game of pool. It also has a brilliant atmosphere and isn't too busy. I've been here a few times now and it is clear that you cannot go in a large group. Even if you socialise in a large group in here they ask you to leave

Edit: Upon my third visit, I had a strange experience - I greeted Shay with a joke "Trick or Treat" and he chuckled, I went in, I had my money ready and he asked to speak to me at the side of the bar. I'm anything but a rowdy person, and he asked me to politely leave. Apparently, the reason is because I spoke to people the week previous and had a 'few complaints' - he told me he would rather me drink elsewhere as he likes people to go in and keep to themselves. I don't understand it myself, he told me I was a "nice chap and a lovely person" - so I don't understand why I wouldn't be welcome back. Anyways, it was very weird to say the least

What a cool little bar to just chill at. The owner is super nice and I love the atmosphere. It’s cash only so be prepared for that!

Great pub, great music, nice and friendly owner. Seeing some of the comments about coloured people not being allowed in but I'm as brown as it gets and had no issues on a packed Friday night.

👍👍 Fantastic indoor entertainment venue in Dublin that holds up to 13,000 people. It's really well marshalled and queueing is kept to a minimum for drinks, food, merchandise and toilets. If you find the ground floor queues start to grow, just go upstairs for smaller queues. There's great sound and visi...
