We were so surprised to discover this enchanting delightful wood, it has a crystal clear stream running through it and an unbroken canopy of beautiful oak trees at the entrance. There are 2 large ponds as well. It has a perfect circular walk.

Lovely place for a walk in the woods. Parking is free and usually space. You can park where you see the cricket field or keep going and there is another larger car park further down. Some of the drive from the main road is single track which isn't ideal and it can be tricky to pull out onto the main road in the traffic but its worth it for a lovely time in the woods. Popular with dog walkers. We go as a family and our 4 year old loves exploring the stream, bridges and a wealth of different trees. Great all year around

beautiful spot in broadstone, lovely open spaces and even the chance to spot a few pretty birds (if you know what i mean)! trees are excellent for climbing even for novices and if you’re lucky you may be able to watch the local cricket club practice on the field. overall a brilliant experience; would definitely visit there again.

It’s a lovely place to get away to. It’s big enough for a 1-2h walk (24 acres according to Woodland Trust) I was lucky enough to visit it a few times, and here are some of the things I saw: deer, buzzards, herons, various types of ducks, blue jays, fish and vipers When it comes to mushrooms there were: chicken of the woods, ox’s tongue, turkey tails & false turkey tails, rusullas, boletuses, and loads more Hope this is useful to someone interested in nature 🫶🏻🌿 When it comes to how it’s looked after then this is when it looses points for me. There’s loads of people who don’t pick up after their dogs and you can just walk past poo almost every time you’re there. The water in the stream and ponds is always stinky and brown. There were benches & tables that were not fixed/replaced so theres less space to chill. I’m especially thinking of the elderly here who usually don’t fancy sitting on the ground because of their bodies not letting them enjoy it anymore

Given it's only small, you can get lost there for hours and you're never more than 15 mins from the car at any time. Great if it's a windy day too as you feel nothing what with all the trees and what not.

Don't expect a solitary forest bath. Everywhere I looked were dogs and their walkers. I love dogs but I went for a moment of peace from my menagerie. Not the place for it. Lovely place for a dog though. Lots of mud to get stuck into and other doggies to sniff and play with. Cricket course on one side and Golf course on the other so...not exactly the wilderness as the pictures make it out to be.

Lovely spot for a walk in the woods. Lots of trails, giant old trees and small streams as well as a small clearing and a cricket pitch in the middle. The dog loved it

Beautiful place to dog walk. With streams and little bridges round a large forest area to walk, it's possibly one of my favourite places. Dog bins on the entrances, and merges on to the trailman walk if you prefer less woody terain. 2 small car parks, but I've never had a problem parking and free parking. Open any day of the year.

This managed but unspoilt wood is a lovely place for a cool walk in summer and a sheltered walk in winter. The clear water of the stream is beautiful and provides great opportunities to play for children and dogs.

Always love this dog walking place. Poo bins in the car park. Mini agility for the pooches. Plenty of forest trails with the cricket pitch for more zooming space. Even a little river for the dogs to paddle in

Lovely place to walk met alot of dog walkers.little paths hand made over streams and to the left of the cricket pitch we discovered a big pond which iam sure summer time will be swarming with dragonfly etc . Saw a couple of tree creeper birds which was a treat . Great place for a walk .

Great wood for a walk with dogs or the family. Limited parking, gets busy, so you have to pick quiet times to guarantee a spot! Access to the castleman trailway which is great for a walk or bike.

What a lovely place to walk the dogs on a hot day! Shady and cooled from the little stream. I sometimes wonder how safe it is to leave my car in the parking space in the woods and, no moaning intended though, it would be great if the way markers and signs could be improved with some meaningful pictures or words. Overall a great spot, thank you council and mainly nature.

A beautiful place to walk, a few dog walkers around, however most appear to clean up after their dogs. My only recommendation is wearing bug repellent just for the sheer number of midgey's, a few stagnant pools which you pass on the way in. Otherwise a nice stream running through a tranquil picturesque setting.

Absolutely beautiful, lived in Dorset all my life and never knew about this place till i looked up places to visit in Dorset. Amazing for just a restful walk, cycling, dog walking, taking a picnic. Will definitely be going again and only a 50 min drive from home .
