Lovely spot. The walk along the Stour river IS really beautiful. The place is preserved and well looked After. During the week there are very few people. Probably more dogs than people.

I refuse to support the cafe when a visitor centre that claims to support wildlife have fish abuse in their lobby. Goldfish need so much more room than that !! Not to mention the other fish that look to be algae eaters with no algae. Overstocked to hell and they couldn’t even be bothered to fill the tank fully ! Those fish can barely move and are probably halfway dead from ammonia poisoning.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Kingfish Barn Visitors Centre, and I must say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. This hidden gem nestled amidst the picturesque countryside exceeded all my expectations and left me with lasting memories. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staff who provided me with all the necessary information about the centre. Their knowledge and passion for the local wildlife and natural surroundings were truly commendable. The Kingfish Barn itself is a beautifully designed facility, blending seamlessly with the surrounding environment. Its rustic charm and serene ambiance instantly put me at ease. The attention to detail in the architecture and interior design is evident, with comfortable seating areas, large windows providing stunning views, and tasteful decor that pays homage to the local flora and fauna. One of the highlights of my visit was the extensive range of exhibits and displays that showcased the rich biodiversity of the region. The information provided was engaging, educational, and presented in an interactive manner that appealed to visitors of all ages. I particularly enjoyed the multimedia presentations and the opportunity to observe live animals and birds up close through the well-placed viewing areas

Stour Valley Nature reserve is a beautiful place to walk along the river bank towards parley one way or Throop Mill the other way. What better place to grab a coffee and snack before or after walk. Lots of interesting facts in the centre. So enjoyable

We love to go here with our son to net fish for observation and to let our dog have a splash about. The cafe is lovely where you can buy a much needed ice lolly on a hot day. Simply beautiful.

It’s nice enough, but there is no inside seating so if you want to enjoy a drink and a snack whilst sitting down you have to do it outside - ok in warm weather but not so good when it’s cold. There seems to be no hot food available, only drinks and a basic range of snacks.

Lovely place to go for a nature walk but there’s not enough place for little ones to enjoy.

Lovely surprise to find this on our walk. Grabbed a coffee and a piece of home made cake. Lovely little shop in there too, and great garden!

We absolutely loved our visit to the Kingfisher Barn Visitor Centre. We took part in the Thursday Nature Tots which was fabulous. We made binoculars and took a nature walk to do some bird spotting, finding big pictures of different bird species along the route and ticking them off our sheet. My daughter had a great time. They also have a tub filled with tadpoles in the barn at the moment that you can look in. We caught it at a great time were some were still tadpoles and others transformed into mini frogs already. We also did some pond dipping, looking at all the creatures that were scooped out. Really great morning filled with fun. We'll definitely come again when we next visit. Highly recommend.

Dropped in to the centre after walking to and from Throop Mill. Discussed kingfishers with a helpful member of staff. If I hadn't been tight for time I could have had a coffee or tea.

Kingfisher Barn is a good place to buy drinks and cake and they charge much and there volunteers are friendly.

Nice place for walking between the trees and wildlife along the river but insects are annoying and the place needs to be tidy and cleaned

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Long, sandy beach with shallow water. Good visibility, but often busy come summer. Plenty of parking available next to the cliffs or within a 5 min radius. Good for swimming and paddle boarding, not great waves for surfing or bodyboarding. Still a great beach to relax upon, with food and drink serve...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ We were so surprised to discover this enchanting delightful wood, it has a crystal clear stream running through it and an unbroken canopy of beautiful oak trees at the entrance. There are 2 large ponds as well. It has a perfect circular walk.
