Kids still had a good time but not a place we will be returning to. I think the biggest disappointment is the Waterpark isn't included with the stay, and then they proceed to charge you $20/person per day for a "day pass" which apparently their day is 8 am - 10 am and then 5pm - 10 pm. What the heck kind of water park is closed for 7 hours during the day on a weekend! Also the lifeguards are real sticklers on the "rules" which yes definitely appreciate keeping kids safe but there is an extent...never been yelled at more than at this park and it's little stuff. Like our 4 year old daughter couldn't have the worlds smallest swim fins on "because they might scratch someone else"...or "absolutely no water toys allowed" in the park which my 2 year old just wanted to bring like a tiny floaty animal toy. I get it all fairly minor stuff but when added up with all the rest it just yeah for a quick weekend "water park" getaway it was fairly disappointing.

Do yourself a favor and book a lake facing room over a full moon. Gorgeous. I have stayed twice and enjoyed the view both times. My family of four stayed for a week, highly recommend paying for the breakfast buffet ticket. We ate so good every morning before our daily plans. I must agree that some rooms are dated but I feel like the amenities are worth a dated room. They had indoor water park, outside pool, mini golf, an arcade - we loved it

Did just the water park. The hotel does need an upgrade but it is clean. Tickets are reasonable and there is showers in the locker room. Water in the tube slide is cool because it runs outside in the winter. Much more comfortable in the spring and summer. Rest of the water is warm and good for soaking. My only complaint is that it is dark in there. I wish there could be more lighting to brighten it up and make it feel like the sun is there. Plenty of guards and seating. Lots of fun play for ages 0 to 13.

I can truly say I will never come back to this motel again... my son had food chunks in his bed when we got there.. the room would not go below 77 degrees. And the fact of how much you have to pay to even use the Waterpark even though we are paying for rooms! And it's only open from 8am to 10am and then again from 5pm to 10pm... and it smelled of pot on the second floor down one whole hallway. Plus spiders all over around the lights and old cob webs aswell definitely not worth the money.

We will not be coming back… From the very start, nothing went right at our stay this weekend. When we checked in the front desk person was so busy talking to her friends behind the counter that she forgot to even put the room keys into our envelope. Then we proceeded to walk to the opposite side of the hotel just to realize we had no keys… Once I finally got keys and we got into the room - it was blazing! So hot in our room and the AC unit was not on or turning on. I called the front desk to ask about fixing the issue and someone showed up 45 minutes later and just flipped on a switch that was hidden on the back side of a wall. This seemed like something they could have instructed me to check over the phone… 45 minutes ago. The pool area is so much smaller than the pictures lead on and the place fills up quick! The room beds were super uncomfortable and The furniture was falling apart…overall just not a good experience for us, unfortunately. And way too spendy for what we got.

This place is disgusting as far as cleanliness goes. The carpeting is gross within the rooms and the hallways. I can't even begin to describe how disgusting the hallway carpeting was, nor could I describe what the obvious stains were all over the floor. The hallway walls sure could use a scrubbing, for they were as dingy as dingy could be. The bathroom was clean. The beds seem to have clean sheets on them, but you walked in and felt.... skanky. We were able to upgrade our room to one that had a deck. The upgrade cost us $10 and we thought that we were really getting a good deal.🤦🏻‍♀️ the deck/patio faced freeway so it was a little loud. It was made of concrete, which is OK… Had the concrete been washed in the last year. There was everything from pop and God only knows what else on the floor out there. All they have to do is mop it and run it down the drain since it was a drain right there. There is no safety divider between our deck space and the neighbors deck space. There was an iron gate that was about hip height and absolutely no privacy from the people next-door to you. Not sure if I'll late opening for the little snack bar coffee shop down in the lobby is a common occurrence but when you go down there to buy some thing and they aren't open quite some time after what is on the sign - that's a lot annoying. We checked out of our room about 10 AM and there was a big pile of barf right outside the door/entrance into the hotel. I don't know how that could've been missed by staff, but it was pretty disgusting. $200 a night is good/should have been a nice stay. This place really needs to be inspected. It's gross.

We stayed here on a Sunday through Wednesday morning, since my son likes the water park. We got to use it a total of 45 minutes during that time due to all of the closures (admission is additional). Amenities are pretty much zero, we had to walk across the street to the gas station for coffee, etc. Breakfast is only served two days a week, so we missed that too. We were also unable to utilize the outdoor hot tub on the last evening we were here, due to a family using it as a kiddie pool for their toddler aged kids (swim diapers), complete with pool toys and empty water bottles/trash floating in the water. Other guests and I watched this taking place in disgust. The room was pretty beat up, access cards not activated/shut off mid stay, door latches not working, dripping faucets, etc. I had to open our room door for my wife due to the broken latches. Admittedly, we knew about the water park closures ahead of time. But the overall impression is not welcoming to guests. I don't see how this is sustainable.

I wanted to love this place so much but between the mold in the shower and the horrendously dirty curtains (possibly blood even?), This was the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. It didn't feel safe having my kids there. Another big detractor was that in spite of the room being set at 65, our room was 75-78 degrees at all times. Very uncomfortable for sleeping. My kids loved the water park though. We would come again but stay at a different hotel.

*Rooms* were a little outdated, beds were ok but definitely well used and old. One blanket was clearly not switched out because it had some stuff on it. We had a balcony room which viewed Lake Superior and it was absolutely beautiful! Only thing is that the balcony door was just a regular door and not like a sliding one. Didn't like that the balcony didn't have a closed barrier either from the next room so it was a little awkward. I could see if it was an adjoining room (which had a closed barrier to and from) and shared same balcony area but it wasn't. *Service* was more than welcoming and professional. Staff was polite, informed and informative on any destinations in the area that we'd like to see during our stay. The food and kitchen staff were above and beyond! A must for us! Cheap prices and fulfilling. Water Park was a hit for sure. Boyfriend and kids loved it! *Location* is perfect. It's right on the edge of the lake. Well, I mean, the highway and some nice homes were between the hotel and the Lake but we use the fan to block out any noise anyway so that wasn't an issue for us.

You get one star because your staff was pretty good but that's about it. Rooms are dated and dirty. My mom's room wasn't even cleaned when we checked in. They comped her a night but it was gross. The air filters in the room were DISGUSTING. Haven't been changed in months. No complimentary coffee or coffee makers in the rooms but feel free to pay for our overpriced coffee bar. Wristbands are no longer included with the room you have to buy them separately and while staffing shortages are everywhere you are a WATERPARK HOTEL. Only being open from 8-10am and 4-9pm (which is not clearly communicated because there are different closing times everywhere) on a WEEKEND is absurd. That is why people come here with their kids. FOR THE WATERPARK. I understand that schedule during the week but weekends? We will not be returning. Way too much money for not enough value.

Booked this hotel for our hockey team to stay in and enjoy the water park as our schedule allowed for it. WRONG. The limited water park hours allowed us to swim for maybe 2-3 hours tops over 3 days. And on top of the limited water park hours you have to pay EXTRA for wristbands, what a scam! We provided over $5000 in revenue for them in that one weekend. Rooms were disgusting, furnace filter hadnt been changed in 6 months, it was DISGUSTING, and when we called for a new one the maintenance man was quite rude. Rooms were dirty, sauce on the lamp shades, run down appliances, and toilet handle was broken. Not to mention the stained ceilings throughout the entire hotel. I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone. Amenities were few and far between so ate at nearby restaurants. I would not recommend staying at this hotel to anyone, serious updates need to happen. And I know I will get the run around that "COVID has caused to lose staff blah blah blah"....well when you are making the money you are maybe its time to look into hiring some staff!

Don’t get me wrong, the waterpark is very nice! It has warm waters and it is clean. The hotel room is where the problem was. The curtains had holes with stains. The couch had stains on it. The baseboard carpet was falling off in many spots. The bedding looked unclean especially on the kids bunk beds. I would come back to do the water park but I will never stay in this hotel again.

The water park was great, kids had a great time. Hours between 10 to 5 you need to find something for the family to do and there is a lot to do in Duluth. The rooms was nice but one bed had something sticky under the pillow, so I don’t think they changed the sheets. Low on staff but what was available was friendly and helpful. No doggie bags like advertised, it was a long line to try to order food.

This was my first time at Edgewater & we had a great time. We got a deal on the room & the room was very spacious. The heater fan was a little noisy. Waterpark was even better than I thought it would be, the kids had a blast. The lifeguard staff was awesome, very diligent at watching the water & guests. Quote frankly, the best lifeguard staff I've seen. Kudos to them for sure!! The only thing I was a little bummed out about, was the open hours of the Waterpark. It would've been great to have spent more time had it been opened earlier. But I do understand that there are staff shortages everywhere. Hopefully that would no longer be the case on our return stay. We plan on coming back & bring more people. Overall, it was a great experience & will recommend your hotel to others.

Reason scored so low was due to no complimentary breakfast t he next morning. Other hotels with same price serves breakfast. Though the view was nice still does not make up for the other stuff. Heated pool here means slightly higher than air temp.

The last time I stayed here was with my dance team and we all got very sick and thought it was just a bug until we seen videos and people talking about how they always get sick at this hotel, which made me think there is definitely something else going on, also swimming and getting weird rashes and employees pouring chemicals in the pool with people still in it. Sure it’s fun but not for the price of getting sick or the very overpriced wrist bands. Also our rooms had stains and mold, I advise parents to not bring themselves or there children here.

This place is definitely a rip off. I paid over $500 for a dirty room and no tickets are included. The Waterpark is only open from 8-10am and 5-10pm. I’d go to any other hotel with a pool and have way more fun. I will never come back. In fact I didn’t get to even go into the water park as my 3 year old was too tired and cranky by 5 pm. I’m so upset at the price and waste of money. OT recommended. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Lots if fun. Staff are a little confused when it comes to using the bracelets at the Waterpark but easy to deal with. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Water is a decent temperature and the hottub is actually hot.

This a good good hotel if you don't want a complete dump but also don't want too nice. The hotel rooms ok, they need to be cleaned better as there were spider webs in the corners and the ceiling in the bathroom had mildew drops hanging from it. If you get a room with a balcony on the lake side you do get a great view and place to hang out with a little noise from the interstate but not too bad. The hotel is very easy to get to and decent parking. The shower was good in the room also was hot and had good pressure. I would stay here again as a back up if other places were full, for the price you can pay alittle more and be down in canal park.

The water park was excellent! The pools and pool areas were very clean, they have lifeguards on duty which is nice when you have little ones. Our teenager loved the water slides and the hot tub was amazing! The arcade was super fun, but most games cost $1, so you burn through money pretty quick. Our room was clean, nothing special which is fine since we spent most of our time in the water park. They also have a fun mini golf area, and complimentary s’mores kits at night that our family loved! It was the perfect little getaway for our family!

10/10 recommend. After we booked this hotel, I looked at the reviews and was skeptical. We had a lake facing room and yes the rooms could use some updates, but they were clean. The staff was super friendly as well. The waterpark was awesome for all ages (even the adults). We will for sure be staying here again!

We absolutely loved the experience we had! It was my first time traveling alone with kids (16, 11, 9, and 1) and the staff made it such an incredible experience. They answered my calls and questions and helped provide a crib (not pack n play). Every interaction with all of the staff was awesome. From the front desk, Grill, housekeeping, and life guards. We used the outdoor pool, mini golf, playground and basketball court, and of course the water park. I appreciated the life guards seemed well staffed and were constantly watching which made taking multiple kids running in different directions feel a bit safer! As far as our room went we stayed in a two bedroom suite, and it was the perfect size. The view of the lake was incredible, the beds were firm but I like that, the pillows were small but fluffy. Everything seemed clean and in working order! Overall we are so excited to go back and appreciate the effort made by the staff!

We were staying at this hotel for a hockey tournament, and while the hotel itself is a bit outdated, I can't complain because of the incredible staff! Everyone was kind and helpful when we had questions. A special shout out to Hailey for finding and returning our son's beloved baby blankets and my husband's tennis shoe that were left behind in the rush of making it to the final hockey game of the tournament. We live two hours from the hotel and didn't realize the items were missing until later that evening. My son was heartbroken about his blankets. I called the front desk at 9 pm on a Sunday night. Hailey answered and offered to walk to the room we had checked out of earlier that day and found them herself! Fortunately, we were staying at the hotel in the off-season, so housekeeping hadn't been through to turn our room over yet! Hailey had our items shipped right to our house, and our son was sleeping with his blankets about a week later ❤️

My family stayed from Tuesday to Friday. Waterpark was amazing! So much to do and keep our three kids entertained. However the rest of the hotel is super outdated. I’m sure it was nice 20 years ago, but it’s time to start remodeling. Our room was decent, but our pull-out sofa didn’t come with sheets, only a stained up mattress cover and a blanket. Our bathroom tiles were cracking. Our curtain was covered in kids chocolate fingerprints (we hope that’s what it was!). Our room keys rarely worked. At one point we had 6 keys because they weren’t working! They don’t go to your room to replace towels and toilet paper now because of covid I assume, so I had to go to the lobby to get this. Finally, you would expect to have the floor levels clearly marked in the elevators, but that was not the case! Lobby on floor 3, water park on floor 2, restaurant on floor 4, it’s so confusing! Next time we’re in Duluth, we’ll stay somewhere else and just come for the waterpark! *You have to pay to get in whether you’re staying with them or not!

We had a disgusting experience red stuff all over the carpet we're not sure if it was blood or what there was a red stuff all over the back of the curtains we asked to speak to management nobody would speak to us our door was broken so literally somebody could jump over the balcony and come right into our room made us feel very unsafe I would never come back to this hotel a friend of mine stayed here before she said the same thing there was hair and and it was filthy. A kid got hurt at the water pool they made him hop all the way to the front area which took over 35 minutes instead of giving him a chair and rolling him over. He was hurt pretty bad. Again we asked for assistance to help this person nobody would help him. I think Nicole refund back and maybe I'll take this post down but it's a disgusting hotel in the Management's never on for some reason Jason Miller
