We had the worst experience for our NIPT in the Edinburgh clinic. Carol, the sonographer, was very kind and competent, however Alexandra, who they said was a qualified phlebotomist was not. She was extremely rude, unprofessional, incompetent and showed no compassion. She wasn’t able to take my blood in over 5 tries and said it was due to how my body is. She used her bare hands without gloves or desinfecting them beforehand. I was told by her colleagues in another location that I wasn’t the first one who reported problems with her. I left the clinic in tears and without my blood test done. I did report the incident but I doubt that any action was ever taken, based on the defensive and vague reply I received. Will definitely never use again or recommend to anyone.

Warm, welcoming and friendly staff made this a wonderful experience. From the first phone call to book the appointment to the follow up confirmations ensuring we were happy with everything, we couldn’t feel in safer hands. The facilities were welcoming and modern as well as clean and comfortable. As soon as the scan began we were put at ease as the lovely technician went straight to our babies heart to show how strong it was, I’ve been to some who took a picture of the heart so we didn’t see it beating which was very stressful. We couldn’t recommend this facility enough, excellent job by everyone. Thank you so much

After reading all the great reviews I’m very disappointed with my experience. My first point of contact was through email which first off lacked a professional response. I was informed just to call them which is fine and I did so the following day. When I first called I felt the lady was a little confused with what her role was and was really slow on the phone which made the conversation awkward. It was apparent after some time that she was working from home as I could her her child talking in the background. I understand it’s the school holidays but when your struggling and trying to get testing done for IVF it’s extremely frustrating to be on the phone to someone who isn’t aware of protocols and lacked a professional phone presence. She was lovely and explained she hadn’t been at work for some time so wasn’t up to date and did call me back with the answers that were needed but it was very frustrating. I was then told if I bought a package for a scan which comes with a blood test I can’t actually use that one blood test on another day. I informed her I need 5 bloods on a certain day and a scan on another separate day and it’s required on different cycle days by my IVF clinic. She said on the phone that I was actually the first person to request hormone bloods on cycle day 3 and the ultrasound mid cycle, which I find very strange since my IVF clinic recommends ultrasound direct and I know it’s extremely common to do these tests on certain days. I felt by the end of the conversation I couldn’t really trust the clinic anymore as a simple request seemed quite difficult, also with the high cost of roughly £500 it seemed pointless since I’ve now found the tests at another location for half the price and half the hassle. I think this clinic is great for baby scans etc but if your looking for diagnostic tests I’d recommend looking around at other clinics.

We had gender reveal scan for our last baby. Great family experience as our 2 kids were allowed to be in the room and watch their little sibling on the screen. I felt very comfortable and our sonographer was very gentle and super nice during the whole visit.

Me and my family had the most amazing experience here for our 4D scan. After being to 2 other venues for private scans this one gave such a 5 star experience. From the moment we came in to the minute we left we felt welcome and looked after. The sonographer Evelyn was so lovely, patient and I couldn’t have asked for a better sonographer. I would highly recommend here.

This place is wonderful, they've been absolutely amazing throughout my first trimester. I had quite a few scans due to some medical issues and they've been so supportive through the whole 12 weeks. Every time I went in they were so thorough and spent the time trying to get nice videos of baby moving around for us to keep. I've usually got the download code by the time I get home too and they send so much stuff. Well worth the price you pay for the peace of mind and insights as your little one grows in the early stages.

Staff were really welcoming and nice, the lady who gave me my scan was really in depth and made the whole experience lovely. Love my photos and videos I received to my phone and also got given some print outs too. Couldn’t believe the price! So good! I will definitely be back for my gender scan!

I had a post menopausal pelvic and transvaginal scan in the Edinburgh branch. I was made to feel very comfortable and like the way you are promptly sent your results by email and text. Tahera made extra effort to make sure I had received my blood results.

Wonderful service. We are really happy to have done the 4D scan and we are pleased to see that our baby is developing brilliantly. They were nice enough to let us reschedule because we couldn’t get a good position the first time. I would recommend!

All the staff are lovely and so welcoming! We had the loveliest gender scan with Evelyn, cannot praise her enough an absolute gem of a woman who was so lovely and attentive throughout she 100% made our experience. Highly recommend to anyone!

Absolutely loved it. We did the 4D scan but couldn't get a good picture the first time around because of babies position, so we were given another appointment. The sonographer took her time and made sure we got lots of lovely pictures. Great experience, I can only recommend it.

very welcoming and helpful. evelyn was so thoughtful this baby is our rainbow baby and during the gender scan she was explaining everything and answered any questions i had. 2nd time using ultrasound direct will defo be going back for a 4D scan and would recommend 100%. for the edinburgh clinic if you cant find it, look for the Consulate General of Romania and its the left door.

Got a gender reveal scan today and the lady was lovely, she couldn’t see at first so we got offered a rescan that same day and she had managed to squeeze us in and check again, super happy with the service and definitely recommend!

Discovering I was pregnant in December, I wasn't in a position to wait to share the news as family were coming up for Christmas (nor was I in the mood to think of an excuse as to why I wasn't getting merry!). However, I wanted to be sure of the pregnancy's viability and the presence of a heartbeat. The early viability scan at 8 weeks with Carol, the sonographer, was perfect. She was kind and professional, and the experience of seeing the fetus was more impressive than I expected. She also showed me which ovary the egg was released from - very cool! Good value, and I received both physical and digital photos. I would 100% recommend it for any woman who wants some peace of mind after the 5 week mark.

Just lovely, caring and helpful staff from start to finish! The NHS made a huge error and left us with no possibility of getting our 20 week fetal anomaly scan. Under huge time constraints, as we were meant to fly away for Christmas to see family, I rang every private clinic and found that Ultrasound Direct are the only clinic that have specialists capable of undertaking the fetal anomaly scan. After initially not having any same day slots available, the lovely receptionist heard how upset I was on the phone and had obviously rung around to see if she could fit me in and rang back to offer us a same day appointment. She went above and beyond when she didn’t have to, as did Robyn, the Sonographer. Very grateful for their help during a really stressful time.

First we had a lovely bonding scan with a very kind and nice staff member (sadly don't remember her name), but unfortunately the baby was not in the best position for the scan, so they offered a new appointment. During the next one we had another sonographer (It think her name was Julie), who was very rushing, didn't really make a nice environment for this bonding experience. It felt like she just wanted to get this done as quick as possible. She also made a comment after the experience, that based on the baby's position she may come early. When I asked if this is true, she said no she can't tell actually. Maybe she was joking but I didn't really appreciate it or get it... Me and my husband felt like it was kindof wasted money...at least we got to see out baby...
