Nice small shopping centre. It's small, not in size, but by the number of shops that have been closed down. I didn't get a chance to talk to any locals as to why so many are closed. But, I suspect this is still the aftermath of Covid. I really enjoyed the food at "The Allotment" eatery on the 4th (M) floor. Beautiful hot tea served in hot mugs that stayed hot while I ate my meal. I hope this shopping centre gets back to full operation again soon. I will be back.

Good wee fruit and veg concession in there. Lyns Small Animal Rehome Shelter is a great wee charity shop run by people who have huge hearts. Centre is clean, it's well run, not their fault shops are closing. Online sales have affected the all round offering but there's plenty reason to go and support local businesses

Walked through the centre today to pick up lateral flow test kits, couldn't believe the number of people without masks ( no lanyards) also people wearing masks pulled down below there noses, absolutely shocking

Somewhat small and low on shops at times, but still a decent spot to visit with a mix of shops and cafes. Most of this is on the main floor, which is nice and flat for those with mobility limitations, and to get to other floors including bathrooms, theres both lifts and escalators which also help with accessibility. Theres often little events on which can make a visit more intresting too.

So sad, go see a shopping centre go down hill. Nothing really inside. Boots and Wilko can be accessed from street. Whole of High Street sad. If you need to buy anything, you have to go to a retail park BUT what councils do not understand is that not everyone has a car!

I remember this centre in its heyday, a bustling and exciting retail destination which is sadly now gone to ruin. Full of empty units and low quality shops, this is where trade goes to die. A shadow of its former self, this would be better pulled down and would make a lovely park in the centre of Falkirk. Leave shopping to the urban retail parks and keep the town centre for recreation and leisure.

Falkirk has fallen from the map in so many ways, business closures are abundant especially the centre of Falkirk, although this is the case the people who remain are wonderful warm and friendly, it would be nice to see this town infused with some hope, historically it’s a hive of Scottish activity if you know where to look

Great wee shopping centre in Falkirk! Although not as many shops as it used to have, most of the ones there are run by independents who are very friendly and helpful, which is brilliant. Full of friendly Falkirk locals. Howgate multi storey has good disabled access by lift and escalator up to the Mall and all of it's 5 floors. £1.50 for 2 and a half hours. 👍

There is lots of shops in the howgate shopping centre every thing you need under one big roof, and a friendly restaurant for tea or coffee and a wee snack if needed folks, well worth a visit.

Small shopping mall closed at 5pm on Friday, there is a small foodhall at level 4. Not so big but it's okay to spend time for an hour or 2 for shopping as you get bored quick here.

Quite a few empty units now and apart from Boots and the Post Office there isn't a lot to see here now. The cafe is very nice however and the centre is always very clean and tidy.

Central in the town, accessible from the high street. Lot of empty shops though. Looking like the death of the high street, went in on a Friday, getting quieter and quieter.

Parking is a nightmare with redirection and cones, lifts don't go to the floor I wanted to go to, cash machine not working, shops empty, no staff or help with anything. I tried to take my dad out who has mobility issues and it was absolutely dreadful. I hope I don't have to go back there any time soon.

Plenty of shops to visit. Little stalls to visit. Nice clean place with cafe's too and toilets.

Not too impressed by the variety and quality of merchandise in the shops. We could only find one entrance and exit to the Main Street. This meant we had to go back and forth through the same center.

Sad to see empty shops and the Loss of the works and Wilko have a negative impact on my shopping experience

What a diserted centre compared to 20 or 10 or even 5 years ago. Such shame but a reflection of today's high street even that's 3/4 empty compared to the same time line.

It's really becoming a ghost shopping center. Also the place is freezing as the centre heating is broken and they aren't looking to fix it

Badly designed place, only one pay point for the multistorey carpark, and its placed at the other side of the mall, so you have to walk all the way to that before you go to leave in your car, not very good if you have a disability, and a few of the escalators were dead, so really not good for anyone with a walking disability, geez can they not even put the carpark paypoint near the carpark?. For some reason i can't reply to the comment below, anyways, if it was possible to pay on exit, it would be good if there was information somewhere telling new people in town that you can do that, there wasn't adequate information to even say there was a disabled parking area on level 3, and parking should be free anyway, it would bring more people to your shopping center if it was free, and the addition of more signs telling newcomers about what you have said in your reply would be helpful, maybe try driving into your multi story carpark as if you've never been there, to find out how confusing it can be to a newcomer to the area.

The selection in this shopping centre is not great. It’s a shame this place used to be buzzing with shops.

Bloody empty, another example of Falkirk council killing it's own town

Shopping should be a good thing but a lot of units empty!

Needs more shops to fill it, bring back the custom. Heating and air con needs fixed, the centre needs something that will draw people back in.

Very little there, Falkirk is a Ghost Town. Best thing we have in Falkirk, is lots of train stations for a bit of escapism to go somewhere, where there is life

It's ok to shop here but not many people do social distance or ware a face mask. It's clean and has some fantastic shops.

A shadow of what it was like in its prime. Just beauty shops and stalls, eateries, and reduction stores now. Barely anything worth while going in for. Hopefully intime it will return to its former glory.

Sadly less vibrant than in previous years but still features a Wilko, large The Works and other small independent traders.

Lyn's small animals shop is great and very friendly staff go in nearly every weekend with our dog.

Nice little shopping centre. Don't plan to eat there unless you are happy eating at coffee places like Costa.

The Howgate is ease to get around as am in a wheelchair ♿️ But what I will say about the Centre the Disabled toilet is a little small.

Visited here yesterday for a business meeting. Chandra (the Centre Manager) was amazing- so friendly and helpful and very enthusiastic about her role. The centre itself has a great range of retail units, and also some "pop-up" businesses too which offer a variety of interesting products. Very clean and well kept premises. A big thumbs up from me and thank you again to Chandra

Been years since I visited the centre. Not as many shops as there used to be but it is clean tidy and full of life

Best BLT in town ,apart from that everything down at retail park , or better still go to Stirling

Not as big as other centres, but not bad. I like shopping in river island, JD sports, super drug, Wilkos and have been in to USC a few times. The Howgate offers Sensory Sunday on the first Sunday of every month between 9am-12pm. The centre will turn its music off on Sundays, while retailers will keep their music low and only use tannoy announcements for emergencies. The Howgate is also wheelchair user friendly.

Needs a bit of love. Lots of covered shopping centres seem to be struggling whilst the slightly out of town open retail park style shopping areas are thriving.

This shopping centre is coming back to live from the gloomy days of Covid. Nice place

  • 1/5 Wullie L. 1 year ago on Google
Has to be the coldest place in Scotland just. Don't buy hot food, goes cold within minutes because the centre has no heating on. The escalators are a joke, very rarely are they all working. 🤬🤬🤬

I like some of the shops here, but can't help but feel it's lacking something although the open cafe inside is a really nice touch and the boots is really well stocked of more high end stuff that you usually have to pick up online....if u like a sing song there always a busker or two hanging about which can be fun if you are wacky like me 😅

Nothing much is this shopping centre waste of time visiting it has a poor arrangement of shopping venues

Its such a shame. Falkirk and surrounding area us large and needs a decent shopping precinct. Unfortunately we do not. Once its gone and retailers cant make money there, the only alternative is stirling or livingston close by.
