In town for training and looking for place with a good selection of brews and a bite to eat. This checked all those boxes and on top of that they had a bottle shop included. Great collaborative space with quirky eclectic atmosphere. Good spot for kicking it back with friends and coworkers alike to enjoy a relaxed time. Cheers!!

I had been warned about Beer Study - Durham, that the beer is great but the service is very sketchy. I just went there and I get it! I got a beer and the guy serving me was very friendly. But when I went to pay, it was a different guy and a totally different experience. There were ten people in line and all I needed to do is close out. I asked the guy in the front of the one if minded me jumping in to close out, and he said it was fine. But the guy at the till refused to close me out and told me to get at the end of the line. I decided to walk, knowing the tip they would add to my still open bill would likely be less than I would have added, IF guy at the till number two had treated me like guy number one. As I walked out, someone saw the whole incident and stopped me to say, “The same thing has happened to me before, and I walked, too.” Now I understand what my friend who frequents Beer Study Chapel Hill means when he says why he drives from Durham to CH: “I get treated rudely by staff at Durham and I never get that in CH.” I’ll be joining him in CH in the future!

I’ve been wanting to try this place out. The ambiance seems super cool and they have a ton of beers on tap. However I was very disappointed in the service. It wasn’t super packed, but they only had one person working behind the counter. She wasn’t very friendly or helpful. She had a bit of an attitude. It just have been because she didn’t have any help! There are too many other great breweries in the area. Glad I checked the box on my list, but definitely won’t be back.

This place has some good beer. I tried 4 beers and loved all of them. There Hefe is awesome. Prices are also pretty reasonable. They even have beer and wine to shop. This establishment is connected with another establishment where you can get some food and they have a bar too. Service was quick and good. Ambiance inside is pretty huge and could have been decorated more nicely. But overall it’s good. They have an awesome outside seating too.

Good beer selection in a decent environment and location. Dog friendly and family friendly but gets crowded because of limited space and seating. Dog owners feel a bit too comfortable with their dogs in this place so if you don’t like dogs be prepared to be annoyed. Look up menu on your phone because you’ll need a telescope to read the tiny text on their screens behind the bar.

Great spot with tasty food and a stellar beer selection. There are a few pinball machines and old school top golf. There is also a decent kids menu.

The beer's pretty good. But ... whenever I go up to order, I feel like I'm inconveniencing the staff. One guy called my choice "boring." It was a beer they made, lol. On another visit, when my wife couldn't read the small font on the menu and asked a question: (eye roll) "Just read the menu." It's a good spot and the beer is tasty, but be prepared for the ordering to be a socially awkward experience.

A Must Visit for the Wishlist Bucket! Some of the Best Home Brewed Ale and Lager Beers in RTP area !!! Ask Ken, the Cicerone, for a tour of his Brewery - it's fantastic!!!

Energetic and friendly bartenders, and the astounding collection of beers on tap is varied enough for everyone to find something they like. I Also love that they have a nice wine selection. Plenty of outdoor seating, and food is available next door at the Boot Room!

TL;DR: Terrible customer service - no samples - don't bother. Went with some friends last weekend. They don't offer samples (not looking for free samples - I'd pay). Instead they have a massive lit board in tiny writing, that is near impossible to see. I wanted a sweeter beer and asked one of the 2 bartenders. He offered up a couple suggestions. For 8 oz. with tip was almost $9. He left after he gave it to me. I tried it - it was super sour and awful. I told the other bartender I thought I was getting sweeter beer and this was sour. He looked at me impassively, shrugged and walked away. So, I left the beer on the counter and walked away feeling I'd flushed $10 bucks down the toilet. So - if you're going, make sure you order something you know. Don't expect help, a smile, or anything from the bartenders. We left and went to Highwire - got a few samples, had some great beers, and felt appreciated by the bartenders. Won't ever be back to this place.

Great staff and amazing beer. It was the perfect lunch: sandwiches from Foster’s and Starpoint brews at Beer Study. And as an added bonus my son had a blast in the game room. I wish I had a Beer Study near me at home.

Miss Nico, but still love to go here fror a beer when I'm back in Durham. Super cool place to get a great beer, pet a cute pup, and grab an amazing bottle of wine. It's a 'secret' gem that we love in the area! If you're super good at the Hope Valley experience you'll hit Chubbys tacos and W 94th st Pub on your way!

Great place with a large selection of beers. Connected to a food place so you can eat, drink, and play arcade games all in the same place. The only small annoyance I have is that they say no samples. When there's 30+ taps you need a sample or two to narrow down what you want.

Good food. Had an issue with order, some language barrier issues. Atmosphere is good, great appetizers..Cheese Curds were great as well as the Tatter Tots yummy... Cob salad was good and a good portion.

Soccer lovers destination. All of the games and fantastic food to go with it. Seats and tv's inside and out with a very steady flow of families, dogs and soccer fans. The food is spot on! Everything from appetizers, salads, burgers and sandwiches. I am so happy chef Matt kept the salmon bacon. Crispy and delicious and works wonderfully on a BLT with the salty, tangy dill mayo. Even my non fish eating child loved it and the Crispy cinnamon dusted sweet potato fries with honey Dijon dipping sauce. Love this place!

Love that you can bring your pup and chill outside at Beer Study. Staff always so friendly and helpful! Outdoor heaters in front of The Boot Room (and shared space) so lovely during the winter. Thank you!

One of the best places to shop for beer in the area, also brew their own great ales. Tables to chill, games, cool hi-tech heads up on what is new & what is about to kick. Well trained and knowledgeable staff.

The selection was amazing with all types of beer available. I had a wonderful pilsner and my wife enjoyed a local IPA. There are plenty of food options around and thr patio has a great vibe.

Super chill beer bar. Excellent selection. Great wine selection as well. Food next door makes it easy to stay for awhile.
