Having spent significant time in France and enjoying lots of truly quality restaurants I can say that Vin Rouge is right up there with the best of French restaurants. Please give them a try. the food, service, atmosphere ware all 13/10. Aden was our server and she was knowledgeable, attentive, and a joy to have. Please ask for her!

The ambience was fantastic. The service was very good - we had great help from our server. We had oysters which were absolutely delicious. The goat was perfectly portioned but the beef tenderloin had almost too many fries. A little less would help balance the dish. The creme brulee was very light and tasty! This is a great place if you want some great french eatery vibes!

Looking from the outside you would never expect to find such a romantic, intimate, cozy inside. Much more seating than I would have thought as well. We started with some wine for wife and beer for me. Various options in water. All great. Appetizers was a goat cheese and onion quiche with side salad and escargot with butter for dipping. Both was delicious. Entrees was the steak and fries cooked perfectly and pork served with a gravy and mashed potatoes with red cabbage. For dessert the mousse was perfection!

Absolutely incredible food!! Really enjoyed sitting at the bar for dinner. Tasty drinks and the food was so good! The mac n cheese is a must try - it’s a meal!! Finished off with some dessert that really hit the spot. Cool atmosphere, friendly service, and outstanding food makes this a must try in Durham!

Absolutely delicious!! Went there for a Valentine’s Day date and had the 3 cheese charcuterie board, NY strip, salmon, apple bread pudding and crème brûlée. Everything was so delicious!! The salmon had a breading for a crust that was so good. The desserts were both phenomenal as well. Really enjoyed my dinner here.

Absolutely amazing - while you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, Clare’s eyes lit up when she described the pork chop. I consider myself a pork chop snob and she convinced me to try it, and it did not disappoint. Truly a hidden gem on the menu. Great wine list as well as bourbon at good prices. Oysters fabulous and also fairly priced. We ate at the bar and Clare and Spencer were so hospitable (as were the customers). It’s now saved as a favorite!

Place really did feel like it was a nice restaurant across the Atlantic. Staff also does their job great at making you feel nice and relaxed the whole time. Food is just as great, porkchop cooked to perfection with a nice crust and sizable fat strip.

Went for a bridal shower and couldn’t have been more impressed. The food was amazing and the staff were beyond attentive. What a wonderful experience for the bride to be.

Overall I enjoyed our dining experience here. Our server was excellent, very knowledgeable of the menu. Apps, cheeses were great. For entrees we ordered the chicken and pork chop. The pork chop was DELICIOUS. Unfortunately the chicken was a quite dry/ overcooked, plain in flavor (the chicken itself) and not enough sauce to soak it in to salvage it (the sauce did have good flavor). If you're gonna do a simplistic rotisserie chicken in a slightly upscale restaurant (especially when there are only a handful of entrees to choose), you GOTTA be sure it's done right. Otherwise good experience, 4 stars.

We already knew Vin Rouge to serve some of the most delicious food in the Triangle (in our opinion), but now we know they are also the most incredible event host as well. Vin Rouge helped us host our wedding reception in their incredibly beautiful Garden Patio space. From day one, Meredith, the event coordinator, was amazing to work with. She was patient, kind, full of ideas and suggestions. She was also accepting of our budget and given that, worked with us to bring our wedding day vision to life. Our wedding reception exceeded both my husband and my expectations. From the food, to the drinks, to the service, to the physical space itself, to the patience Meredith and every one of the waitstaff had with us when our schedule got off-kilter, we felt so incredibly welcome and loved the whole night. We feel so grateful Vin Rouge was willing to be a part of our big day. And we know where we will be celebrating the anniversary of our marriage from this day forth.

The service was amazing, as was the food. I would recommend the know now cocktail. The steak was good. I've had better, but I do not say that to be disparaging. The open shell oysters were surprising. I do not usually indulge, but I tried them and I was pleasantly surprised. Will I go again, of course.

We loved our experience at Vin Rouge. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, helpful, and just the right level of checked-in to our meal. We will definitely return the next time we are in Durham. Update: We did return!! And it was just as good, if not better! They took my dietary restrictions very seriously, and the menu is very friendly boasting whole foods. The price is too low for such an amazing meal.

Everything about Vin Rouge is just the best. The service is impeccable every time. I've never had anything here that wasn't prepared perfectly. I prefer the indoor dining experience more than the patio, but that's just because of how good the restaurant smells on the inside. I always recommend Vin Rouge to anyone who wants to celebrate a special occasion because they are so gracious and kind.

Excellent service and food. We tried the daily special seared scallops which were frankly the best I've had. The escargot were pleasant but I wish they were saltier. Mussels buttery and delicious. Trout Amandine tender and great, hanger steak cooked as specified and was a joy to eat. The pork chop was fairly good. Definitely a great place to go for a semi-splurge meal.

Wow just wow! Came here for the first time last weekend for an early valentines dinner with my husband. This place is so cute and cozy with amazing food and drinks! I tried the New York strip steak with the fries, amazing! Also had a cocktail and a wine, both were good quality and so good! To top it off, our waitress, Katie, was phenomenal! She made us feel right at home. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Had plans for 1pm we all got there food was ordered I don't think we got it until at minimum 30+ minutes later. Food wasn't anything to rave about personally...I did not order but others did that were in my party .. the French onion soup smelled fab. Menu pretty limited. The coffee superb!!! Great job on that thank you Guyere mushroom omlette ehh ....needed salt, flavor wasn't intense at all. Server wasn't super friendly Location , well a bit dated needs a roomier entrance..parking is horrible. I was invited as part of a group not sure I'd go again on my own . Service 1 star was due to the long wait after ordering.

This place truly deserves all 5 stars, I went here for my birthday and had such a wonderful time! I recommend going with friends as there's so much variety between the all the different dishes. Definitely go for the foods that sounds adventurous, as they are absolutely delicious. Great for celebrations and dates, doesn't not disappoint!

I was glad that I finally decided to come to Vin Rogue for dinner. Our server, Jason, was great and provided some great recommendations. We ordered appetizers, entrees and dessert. The escargot and sweetbreads were both full of flavor and were a great start. We then ordered the chicken with tarragon and Dijon sauce and the poisson du jour, which was seared scallops Provençal. Both were refreshing and had so much flavor. The chicken was juicy and the scallops were cooked just right, and not tough like some places. Overall this was a very pleasant meal and were were glad to finish it off with some excellent chocolate mousse. I’m already looking forward to my next meal here!

Vin Rouge is one of my favorite reception spaces in Durham. It's feels intimate even for larger parties, is a perfect backdrop to feel transported to France. The food is divine and they treat vendors with the most respect. I love shooting weddings here and recommend it as a reception location for my couples.

Everything was delicious and fresh! Amazing service too. They had an unbelievable dark chocolate mousse as a dessert special (not on the menu). The escargots was a star and the best I’ve ever had!

I never write reviews but I had to this time. We ate brunch there today and my god, this is a hidden gem in downtown Durham. We were just walking by and decided to go in and we are so glad that we did! 5 stars isn’t enough. The food and service was immaculate!
