A breakfast and lunch diner in North Durham earned my respect today. Waitress Sue and the potato cheese frittata made this first visit memorable! Silver Spoon is located in the former Pizza Hut building 1/4 mile south of Latta Road intersection on Roxboro Road. Prepare yourself for comfort food done just right and you will not leave disappointed. Open yourself up to kind, positive, efficient service and that it why you will keep coming back. One word: Sue! Ask about the homemade Baklava made by owner Sue.

We wanted to try a new breakfast place in Durham. A quick internet search of “best places for breakfast in Durham” pulled up various lists. Silver Spoon Restaurant appeared on multiple lists and now we know why. The service was impeccable. Upon entering the restaurant, we were cheerfully greeted and quickly seated. Our server got our drinks and order. The food came out within minutes. Being a huge fan of corned beef hash, I ordered the corned beef hash omelet. It was absolutely delicious. The husband got the NC scramble and he raved about it. For a quick no fuss breakfast served all day, Silver Spoon in North Durham is hands down the choice. We will definitely be going back to try all the other corned beef hash offerings.

We decided to try this breakfast spot in Durham for the first time. Truth be told, we were a little hesitant about going in because the outside wasn't that appealing however do not judge a book by its cover. We were greeted as soon as we walked in with smiles and excitement. I ordered the Pancake combo with eggs and extra crispy bacon and my daughter ordered the chicken and waffles with the option of chicken tenders and home fries. Everything was fantastic and our server Pam was very attentive to our needs. Will definitely be back

I don’t understand how they balanced the great quality of their food with such an extensive menu. Delicious and varied options that will let you leave breakfast happy. Will be back!

This food was sooooo good. I tried the Nero frittata and added one pancake in place of the toast. Prob one of the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Soon as I walked in I was greeted with the warmest hello from the hostess. Didn’t take long to be seated or for my food to come out and it was piping hot. Sweet tea was great too….if you’re in the south and your sweet tea isn’t good you might as have committed a crime lol

Friendly service with good food. Coffee carafe and water carafe on the table. The renovated Pizza Hut atmosphere was not a problem for us. Liked having a fresh fruit option for a side. Easy parking and no wait on a weekday morning.

First time here, Lady running cash register was a hoot. She runs the place like her home. Very warm and inviting. Pat was our waitress. Totally awesome đź‘Ś. Please note DO NOT ALLOW THE OUTSIDE APPEARANCE lead you to another direction. Inside is very clean.

Very good, very affordable, great service too. Wide selection of breakfast foods. Had a 2 pancake combo, scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee, water, and added on a side of hash browns. I will try something else on their menu soon! In a old pizza hut building.

I absolutely love this place, it is a true hidden gem in north Durham! I am a big fan of their corned beef hash omelette. You also have to get a side of toast so you can try their strawberry preserves! My friends got 'The Rocky' skillet and corned beef hash benedict. I hope they are able to expand their hours soon to include dinner hours like they used to have!

Some colleagues and I stopped at this restaurant after completing some volunteer work at a nearby park. A rep from the park recommended this restaurant to us. We did not have reservations, nor did we need any reservations. Our server, Suha, had exceptional customer service skills. She was professional at all times while very pleasant and friendly. We all adored her bubbly personality. She made us feel welcomed and as if we were at home. They have a vast menu available. They serve breakfast all day, but they also have lunch and dinner items. There were so many items on the menu that it took us a minute to figure out what we wanted to try. There were also specials listed on a board. Our orders were taken right away once we were ready, and our food came out quickly. Suha answered our questions regarding the menu and also made some recommendations per our inquiry. We each ordered an entrée and dessert. My entrée was the seafood omelette with English muffin and home fries. It was very tasty and the omelette was flavorful with the cream cheese and shrimp on the inside and hollandaise sauce on the top. My hot fudge brownie was also really good. The presentation for both was nice. The environment was relaxed and a bit homely. There are a lot of regulars that were dining at the same time that we were. This restaurant seems to be a staple in the community. I am giving this restaurant 4 stars only because the restrooms could be brought a bit up-to-date. Additionally, in the female bathroom, there is one handicap stall and one regular stall. The regular stall is so small and cramped that it was not comfortable as there was no room to really turn around or do anything in there other than use the toilet. What made it worse was that there was nowhere to hang my pocketbook, so it was a very awkward situation. Other than that, we had a wonderful dining experience, and we enjoyed the food. Those of us that live within the vicinity of the area will definitely visit again.

Blink, and you'll miss this gem of a restaurant! The food and service are amazing with a large brunch style menu to choose from. Long-time residents of Raleigh who remember Courtney's will love Silver Spoon for serving an extremely similar style menu. Be sure to stop by the next time you're in Durham!

This is a recent find for us, and we love it! The staff is so kind, and they know everyone that comes in by name! The food is delicious, and the prices are more than fair, especially in today's ever increasing market. It's very family friendly too, unlike a lot of brunch places. It's become a staple in our Saturday brunch rotation.

We arrived right before closing time and asked if was still ok to dine in. The answer was yes. We were greeted with a smile and received excellent service. They told us not to rush and only asked if we could pay early so they could close out the register. They definitely went above and beyond with their service. Food was amazing. We will definitely return but earlier next time.

First off just let me start by saying the service was top notch! They greeted us and was nice and patient. The food came out pretty quickly. My fiance had a delicious, nice and thick Belgium waffle! I had a Denver egg scramble that had diced ham, spring onions and cream cheese mixed it! It was heavenly good! We definitely will be returning in the future!

My problem was when I expressed to the waitress, who I think is the owner’s daughter, that my peach cobbler was raw she didn’t do anything. I also expressed my concern to the lady at check out she did nothing. My country style steak was good. The mashed potatoes were out of the box.

This is the best Breakfast place in Durham. Run in an old Pizza Hut but it’s cool and very good food. I got the Chocolate Pancakes which was cheap around $9 and it was good. They have such great food and great customer service. Person who runs it knows what they’re doing and knows how to run an establishment. Thanks for the great food.

Liz was an outstanding waitress and explained the menu to us as it was our first time at the restaurant. Appreciated the carafe of ice water, coffee and tea water. Pancakes were served with warm syrup. They were light and tasty. My husband had the skillet and was exceptional pleased. He asked for eggs over medium and I had asked for over easy and both were served as asked. We definitely will eat here again.

I’ve heard so much about the restaurant, I’m talking about years. I’m aware of the building itself, lived in the neighborhood longer than it’s been in business. So a couple weeks ago I decided to give it a try. I order an omelette with spinach tomato and cheese with a side of hash browns. This order was placed inside and waited on and brought straight to my home which is about a mile away. Let’s just say I was disappointed, the omelette couldn’t be revived with seasoning and the hash browns were dried out and cold. I know everyone has their standards to what they like, I could’ve eaten at home and done a better job if I was well.

Delicious food with amazing server! Highly recommend the eggs Benedict and the waffles. So many options, something for everyone. Great coffee and my cup never got empty. Loved this place!

My husband and I almost never went out for breakfast before we moved down the road from Silver Spoon—now we go all the time! Everything we’ve had has been delicious. Everyone there is so friendly—the community feeling in this diner is incredible. The food is fast, and the strawberry jam is made from scratch and it’s soooo good.

Passing through from Raleigh back to Charlotte seen, they had good reviews and stopped in. Sunday morning, breakfast crowd filled the place. We sat by a nice couple who was celebrating her birthday. Our waitress was very friendly and nice. I appreciated her advising; she would be right with us, let us know how much longer on our food, and being attentive to needs. The couple next to us stated that the business had been there for many, many years( and you could tell). It didn't take long for our food to arrive, it was fresh and hot and the prices were good.

Silver spoon offers excellent service with some of the most friendly staff I’ve ever met. Unfortunately, the food was not up to the standard. We were disappointed at the amount of grease in our dishes. As an example, the Belgian waffle was sopping with butter/oil and completely soggy. Silver spoon offers extremely affordable dishes though and we’d certainly be willing to give it another shot with different dishes and dining in instead of takeout. The establishment itself was a cozy diner style that was very welcoming.

Great service, good food. They even gave me a free NC State mask when I didn’t have enough money for it. Definitely worth another trip back.
