I booked a room with 2 queen beds. Got to the room and both of the beds were just a double size. There were no bed sheets, no blankets, no towels, pillows were dirty. There were also cockroaches, and graffiti on the refrigerator. A broken window next to the door. I went back to the front desk gave the person my room key back and left. The place will not refund the money I spent on the room even though I did not even stay the night. I left right after I saw that room. Also another guest was complaining that they can't even get into their room that they just booked because the door would not open. The front desk person basically said they can't do nothing about it because it is after hours.

Terrible management, I made a reservation and given keys but the keys did not work, maintenance could not help and I never could enter the room. I was only able to pick up my belonging after work because the night crew had opened it with a crowbar which at that point I booked somewhere else due to an incoming winter storm. How on earth am I to go in and out of the room if the keys don't work and management knew this per maintenance? I showed up early but the lady did not want to check me in early I showed up the next day at opening but guess what? The front desk was late and not on time.

This place is just BAD. I have stayed in poor hotels, but this one is probably the worst. I am always fair in my reviews, but I can't give this place any less than 1 star. The front door was loose and looks to have been broken into previously then a steel plate was screwed in to "fix" it. The room was VERY small and the "furniture" was either broken or in such bad shape. There were cobwebs in the corner of the room and dead roaches on the floor near the fridge. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom. The toilet seat was real loose. There was NO TRASHCAN! Trash was just discarded all over the parking lot and grass large bags of trash were scattered in the breezeways near the stairs. I will not stay here again and I do not recommend this place. Red Roof should be ashamed. I asked for a refund and was denied one. Pests and terrible amenities were the breaking point for me. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

The room was dirty. The floors were sticky. The walls were dirty. I was very disappointed. The draw was broken and would not stay closed, and the inside of the draws were very dirty. The front desk clerk Terri was very friendly. There was an incident while I was checking in where a customer called and stated there were feces all over the toilet. Terri was very accommodating and apologized and changed the room. It is very clear that the rooms are not being cleaned properly. I know I will not be staying here again. There are stores and restaurants nearby. I do not recommend staying here.

Price within my budget, but still felt overpriced after my stay. Desk staff was friendly. Had an issue with the TV remote. Was given another one that worked, no problem. With the location, would expect it to be kept up better. Sanitary issues all around. Trash in the elevator and in the stairwells. Siding and walkways need washing. The look of the room was pretty plain, which wasn't a problem. The cleanliness is more important to me, which could've used more attention. The floors were sticky. The TV and lights worked. The cabinets were clean. The freezer had half eaten pizza left in it. The only extras in the room was a roll of toilet paper and lined trash can, 2 towels, washcloths and bath mat. No soap, shampoo, paper towels, dish soap, etc. The heat worked for a little while, then blew out cooler air the whole night, no matter what I set the temp to. The bathroom was pretty clean. The shower curtain hangs about 2" above the bottom of the shower stall which left a gap causing the floor and bath mat to get soaked. There were large yellowish stains on the bedspread. One stained pillowcase. The other pillowcase and sheets were clean. Had to work with the deadbolt to get it locked. Biggest sanitary issue I have is bugs. Saw a total of 7 roaches. One ran across the bed while I was in it. SPRAYING FOR BUGS AND CLEANLINESS SHOULD BE TOP PRIORITY AT ANY ACCOMIDATIONS.

    1) never come to this hotel hometowne studio at 5008 NC hey 55 Durham nc 27713 2)every inch everywhere full of roaches I couldnā€™t sleep even a single night. I notified the hotel staff but no action. Roaches are so extensive that even after spray within 2 hrs roaches one back and crawling everywhere in the room. After trying all possible steps, I decided to move out early as I couldnā€™t sleep or enjoy my stay. This was the worst of worst experience. Never come back to this hotel. 3) staff are nice but they donā€™t have the means to solve the problems. 4) I witnessed one day drug dealing but acted as if I didnā€™t see it. They are likely to have guns. 5) there is no security in this hotel and the hours of this hotel is very limited- could not reach anyone mostly.

The staff is rudeā€¦ arrived at 5 in the morning from a 14 hour road trip and had my confirmation number in hand and told me my reservation was cancelled because he had no clean rooms. But after reading the reviews it was a blessing in disguise. Go stay at the Quinta at least they have a pool.

WARNING: STAY AWAY!!! Manager lied and stole $200 from me. Booked three nights a month in advance. When I showed up right after check in time, I was told there were no rooms ready yet, but they checked me in anyway told me when I came back there would be one ready. I returned that night and was told there were still no rooms ready, but the front desk dude offered to go in and ā€œstrip a bedā€ in a dirty room so I could stay. Of course I refused and requested a refund. He got his manager Larry on the phone who said my stay was cancelled and heā€™d issue a refund in the morning, and it would take 5-7 business days to come through. Guess what - a week later, no refund! I called back and was gaslighted about how they never said Iā€™d get a refund, that I refused the available rooms they had, etc. Ran it up the chain as much as I could to no results. Didnā€™t even refund nights 2 and 3, which I said would be acceptable. Completely ridiculous.

The room didnā€™t have any products such as soap or shampoo not sure why?? But for the most part the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet the location was surrounded by any food amenities that you desire. Front desk didnā€™t charge a deposit unlike online $50 deposit plus the room rate with paying cash or card. So when I called the hotel front desk they explain pay cash $50 deposit but with a card no deposit that means a lot. Hotel is actually great and I would definitely stay again best location everything you need in walking distance

Excellent helpful staff especially Kelly. She is amazing, knowledgeable, kind, considerate, compassionate and very professional. Kelly is the epitome of what any hotel should have working with them!!! I felt safe and very comfortable here. Itā€™s very clean and any garbage I saw was only there for less than 24 hours! Never smelled bad. Would definitely return and highly recommend!!!

Staff (Terri and Brandon) was real pleasing and assisted with all my needs to make my stay comfortable. As far as the rooms I was not satisfied with cleanliness and bugs for $80 plus a night. Also did not see smoke detectors in room.

Lacking housekeepers and the office wasn't open at or around 9am. Didn't have towels, a strong Marijuana scent coming thru the ventilation. Sloppy Paint job The hotel didn't have amenities, no toiletries, and just not worth the time and money. The location is good because golden corral is in walking distance.

Definitely a hard NO! The room was disgusting!! Smelled like old cigarette smoke and beer. The sheets and pillowcases all had brown stains. There was trash all over outside and a lot of men drinking beer and working on their car.

It's probably the cheapest hotel in NC(kinda gave me NYC shelter hotel vibes). I booked with priceline 2 night stay. If you truly need an Disability Room call to make sure they have one available. I didn't need one but priceline did show me a lower price if I picked Disability access room. All rooms have a kitchenette, fridge and microwave which was cool but didn't need. The laundry room is open 24/7. I didn't use it since coin operated if I'm not mistaken. The office isn't open 24/7...I mean it's not a problem but I needed to catch a flight and I couldn't return my room key or check-out. I did call the phone number on the sign but honestly that was a waste of time(voice-mail wasn't set up & when I did get an answer they hung up) Pretty solid spot if you need a place to rest your head and shower.

Management and staff were professional and courteous. They always greeted me with a smile and asked about my welfare. On the rare occasion that I needed something, the staff was quick to meet my request. Respectful people and restful accommodations šŸ˜Š

Awful place, itā€™s not even a hotel, is more like a shelter, people live there, they smoke all kind of things, everything is super old, stained linen, the door didnā€™t lock, not safe at all, itā€™s located in a bad neighborhood. Donā€™t believe itā€™s a 2 star hotel, not at all. We didnā€™t stay for more than 2 minutes. After this one we stayed in a 1 star hotel that was 100 times better, a real hotel. Stay away from this place.

When I arrived it took longer than normal to get my room due to all the complaints that was going on by current customers. I was charge a 100$ deposit that was never returned and I'm currently still in the process of getting that resolve. The fridge in my room did not work for the whole day I was there and it made such horrible noise that was not able to sleep for the whole night, and they had to replace the fridge the next day. The room I was in doesn't even have towels or any complimentary soaps, no trash bucket and the linens doesnt even look clean. My water was turned off for some reason hours before my check out time. Everything was outdated and not to mention all the commotion that was going on that night about some guy losing his belonging and he was eminent to make sure to caused as much noise as possible that night and lucky me, I was staying the room next to him. I m still trying to get my $100 deposit back. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Right down the road from my hiring convention. No soap/shampoo no towels no toilet paper no trash can no towels. Got toilet paper down stairs. I guess they do more monthly rentals. Real size fridge was nice but the microwave had no glass plate in it. And there were stains on the sink. Dude ignored my questions regarding trash removal from the room and he realized he'd left the office unlocked (he just laughed at that).

I wish I had read reviews before booking, Iā€™m not even a review type of person but this had to be the worse hotel experience ever. I suggest unless you are involved in illegally obtaining money to not stay here. I arrive at 3:30p to check in and the office door was locked with a closed sign. A guy walking down the side walk I assume was maintenance informed me that the clerk had a family emergency and that the manager had went to the bank but shouldnā€™t be long. The manager arrived about 10 min later and checked me in quick and was polite, the only positive. 1st in my room the instant odor of old mop water hit me. It was so strong I had to spray perfume and the floors were so sticky and dirty it didnā€™t make sense. The AC unit didnā€™t work, the door had a dent like it had been kicked in and there was a hole above the door knob where the top lock should be, but had been removed smh. Same with bathroom door. It had a big crack around the lock and the latch was completely gone so you couldnā€™t shut the door. Everything besides the bed just looked unsanitary. Couldnā€™t get in touch with front desk via phone so had to walk to office about AC which eventually was fixed. After the 1st night of hearing constant loud talking and ppl walking up and down the sidewalk outside my room I felt so unsafe. Cars were pulling up and leaving all night as well. Thankfully I had a friend in town who let me stay there the rest of my trip. I didnā€™t even go through hassle of trying to get refund. Never again!

When I got there, a man was cursing and yelling at the employees about wanting his money back. I requested a wheelchair accessible room and I was put on the third floor without a working elevator. The room had no toilet paper, wash clothes, floor mat, soap, cups, plates, pans or silverware. The stove is rusty and I was scared to even attempt to use it. And when I went to the office about the toilet paper, soap, and towels the front desk clerk mumbled under her breath that she had more important things to do than this. Overall, I was just happy to have a roof over my head during the hurricane but if I could've afforded more I definitely wouldn't have come here.

The essay I should write about this hotel is far more tasking than avoiding having to relive the experience I had. This place is beyond sketchy. A public danger if anything. Blood on the walls, toxic rusted and exposed vented areas. There is no night service so if you need anything at night, hope the number they leave in the window works and that you're not dying. That seems to be normal here. Someone dying, as someone had just done so before I could even check in. I later found out in my unfortunate stay. They are supposedly under new management but guest services walks in without knocking multiple times claiming they are unaware of tents, that they themselves have checked in. There is a scam or ring of some sort here and needs to be shut down. FOR PUBLIC SAFETY.

The room was dirty as if the mop water was never changed. Mildew on the ceiling of the bathroom. Toilet seat was very loose. Dirt in the corners of the room. Appeared as though someone had pried their way out of the room. TV was mount crooked. The burners on the stove top had burnt and dried food around them. This is a low budget facility but that is no excuse for the condition of the room. I don't know how they earned a 93%

This hotel is the most disgusting hotel I have ever been to. I went to check in and got to the room, 2 min later I walked right back to the front desk and checked out. I will say the night manager was really nice about the situation. Saying I would get a refund. The room was filthy. Dirty refrigerator, dirty floors, shower, sheets, everything! I am still waiting and fighting for my money back so we sill see if that happens. SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE....DO NOT STAY HERE!

Me and my son drove from Washington state and got in with no problem. The apartment complex we were going to rent was not what it was suppose to be so we didnt sign the lease and stayed here. Larry was good to us and the place was absolutely sufficient for our needs. AC was on point and we ended up here for over a week while our new home was found. I would come back here for sure. Everything we needed was close by and zero issues at night while we slept. I'd like to add I did notice lots of working people here and that is a plus for neighborly conduct.

I'm a construction worker. I travel all over. Been staying in motels for years. Never have I come across such a slum. I'm telling you the truth. The pics show the second room they gave me when I complained about the first. I should have kept the first. The room I ended up with had no signal on the tv on any input setting. The table top was balanced on a pedestal. you set anything on it, it hit the floor. Not even a shower curtain. Water just goes out into the floor. What's worse is none of the three rooms had working air-conditioning. I went to big lots and bought a fan. $40. Come back and office closed. The person leaving wouldn't even speak to me. And I was very nice through all of this. This person's rudeness was the final straw that made me write this. The city of Durham nc. needs to shut this slum down.

Do not stay here. It is nothing like advertised. I payed for a queen bed in a non smoker room and I got a full bed that reeked of cigarettes. The door didn't even close all the way and didn't have a lock. The cabinet doors were detached and the bathroom was disgusting. I would rather sleep in my car than stay here

The staff here goes above and beyond to meet your needs and tries everything within reason to make you feel comfortable while you stay. They have on site security so you be assured nothing happens to your vehicle. Overall my stay here has been one of my best experiences at a hotel. Thank you guys!

The room did not have any soap and no clean towels or wash cloths. There was a rank smell in the room I couldn't figure out what it was until I open up one of the cabinets underneath the sink. There were some old clothes with I believe vomit šŸ¤¢ on them the smell was traumatic. I called the front desk they removed it but didn't even sanitize it. This made me sick and made me lose my appetite. I'm never staying here again even if it's free.

Thereā€™s no soap or trash can Iā€™m the room. The floorsā€¦. Just keep your socks on. Gross! It felt like it hadnā€™t been cleaned. Thereā€™s something that looks like blood that dripped on one wall towards a wall socket. The bathroom door is hard to open/close because it drags on the floor. My 84-year-old father had a hard time with it. The inside of the bathroom door looks like someone tried to dig their way out. I did not feel safe here. The only two pluses were they didnā€™t require the $100 deposit and the location is EXCELLENT. Walking distance to anything you need. Personally if it had just been me staying here, I wouldā€™ve foregone the money paid and gotten a room elsewhere.
