This restaurant actually came up as a suggestion on Google Maps. We gave it a try for take out and thank you Google Maps! The Bun Cha Gio (vermicelli with pork spring rolls) was what I didn’t know I needed. It was so authentic down to pickled daikon in fish sauce. The spring rolls were hot out of the fryer, the vermicelli noodles cold, and vegetables crisp. They even provided crushed peanuts to top off. It came nicely packaged but I had to re-create my childhood memories. Thank you Koumi. This restaurant is everything I didn’t know I needed. Koumi is on rotation!

This was my first time visiting Koumi but it will definitely not be my last. The food is delicious and you get great portion sizes. I had the Hibachi steak and shrimp. It was fantastic. The carrots are so tender and sweet. And the sushi was also great. I ordered the Black Spider rolls, which was something new for me, and they were also great. I'm definitely going back here again. And it's also very close to the hospital in case you need to grab something delicious to eat.

I was looking for chicken lo.mein and shrimp tempura. The shrimp tempura I ordered was two.pieces of shrimp tempura made into a rice roll with a piece of raw shrimp on top of each piece. It tasted fresh but wasn't what I wanted. I was looking for single shrimp battered and fried. The chicken lo mein was pretty good. It had a lot of chicken. The noodles were a little dry. The service was pleasant and fast! I've only just begun looking for delicious Asian takeout in Durham, NC.

I love me some sushi but this place did not bring it at all. I really was craving spicy crunchy tuna but they did not have it together. So I told the young lady to give me the spicy tuna and crunchy tuna. I was ordering food for my father, mother, and I. My father is a vegan ordering hibachi vegetables and brown rice and my mother the hurricane roll. My father was happy with his order but mother and I were not! Order took too long but no one was in restaurant. I guess many orders were delivery orders because it was busy for them. Can't fool me...sushi was not so fresh and it appeared to be 90% avocado without much tuna in it, lacking the spice and crunchiness from rolls I ordered. Visiting my parents from Washington, DC mainly for Mother's Day. Learn to make sushi properly. Your sushi sucks!

Good Pho Soup and other foods! They have Rice Wrap Summer/Spring Rolls! The place does have a bit of a run down atmosphere but, times are tough and I cannot fault them for it as prices just keep going up. Landscaping would help tremendously! GREAT FOOD!!

This is a great place to dine at. I enjoy Pho 🍜 and there is no other that comes even close. The soups are always fresh, hot wholesome and Yesss oh so delicious. The owners and staff are super friendly. They understand the importance of Customer service and Guess relations. The best place Tops in Durham, clean too.

Koumi is the BEST Japanese resturant in Durham. It's a new place but all asian food lovers need to try it! I got Hibachi, gyoza, and the Caramot sushi. The hibachi was very fresh,flavorful, and huge serving. Saices were excellent. The sushi was beautifully presented as was the hibachi. It's obvious the owners are very caring about quality. Customers seem to know the staff and atmosphere was great. Inside is super clean . You must try this place!

One of those little hole in the wall places that you wish you would've found sooner. The menu was vast, the portions were abundant, and the crab ragoons are possibly some of the best I've had. My food came within 10 minutes and the staff was attentive to our needs. Definitely recommend! 🤩🤩

Ordered the drunken noodles (1 shrimp, 1 beef), egg rolls, crab rangoon and cucumber salad 30 mins before closing. Neither drunk noodles were good. The beef tasted old and both noodles were extremely mushy 😖. The filling in the crab Rangoon had a funky taste to it and the spring rolls had zero flavor and barely any meat. Only positive is everything was fried nice and crunchy. The cucumber salad was good. I dont recommend ordering from here esp before closing.

I only gave 4 stars because the egg rolls and spring rolls were AMAZING! This place is a skroongggggg 3.5 Now I got chicken and steak hibachi- large portion but lacking so much flavor. The rice is DRYYYYY! Cud lawd don’t hurt ya self! I’m taking my plate home to doctor it up. My coworkers got sushi and said it was really good. The staff is sooooo sweet! The experience was good just need more flava with the food! Definitely get those spring rolls though!!! TellemGabbbsentya!!!

Koumi offers fast service with good quality food that is affordable. The staff and kind and establishment looks clean. My girlfriend and I often enjoy getting hibachi from here.

The portions are HUGE!! it's not much to look at from the outside, but everything is cooked to order, and you can tell they use good quality meats. It is the best Japanese restaurant I have been to in quite a while. They also have Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese food plus an extensive sushi menu. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place!

It has been years since we have been there. The service was absolutely amazing, the person at the front who took our order was excellent, the food was awesome. The amount of food you received for the price was surprising as you would think you would pay more for the amount and quality of food you received. Definitely will be going back a lot sooner than years. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great place for vegan sushi rolls. We got the avocado rolls and it was the best avocado roll we have had in a long time. The avocado was perfectly ripe and buttery. Highly recommend this place. Will be back soon!

Ordered Chicken drunken noodle for dinner (dined in), with spiciness level 4 (out of 5 levels of spiciness). The drunken noodle was tasty and the owners were very friendly. Also had their Taro bubble tea, which was more of a slushie type of bubble tea. The portion of the tapioca pearls/boba was too little and it wasn’t really good either. Nevertheless the food was delicious so it wasn’t a bad experience

Owner took my order, got the order wrong. I had to repeat myself 3 time for her to get the correct drink. She left off the crab Rangoon I ordered. A lady ordered after me and got her food first. 15 minutes later still no food and he wasn't cooking it. Meanwhile the owner came out of the kitchen with her food and sat in lobby and ate.

Used to love ordering pho and other dishes, but the quality of meat went down. The meat was fatty and thick rather than delicate thin slices, also for delivery the bean sprouts were soggy and bitter. Would no longer recommend for pho, especially for take away quality.

Mediocre food quality overall that came at a steep price for said quality. Food seemed to be reheated as the quantity of food I with a group ordered came out unreasonably fast. This was further evident by the large variation in temperature from cold to hot in different areas. Staff was also a bit of a mess too, multiple times food that wasn't mine was set down in front of me due to poor communication. As for my meal, the steak was dry, shrimp was tough and chewy, rice was pretty bland as well and was painfully obvious that the carrots were canned too, and that ran me $16.00 after taxes.

First time stopping by today. Ate some excellent food, served by an excellent staff. The owner struck up a conversation with me and I discovered that he had just bought this place two days ago. The young man seems to have big dreams of cleaning up the establishment to draw more customers and I am very eager to watch it unfold. I will be back, thank you so much!
