Great museum. Free entry. The reception lady was very kind too (and spoke fluent English). It was very empty, not sure why. It's a very insightful museum. I definitely recommend.

This place is an amazing museum and is free entry. Nearly everything is written in german but they provide a free English audio guide with a deposit (the audio guide is very good!) they current exhibition is very well put together and has so much information- I learnt a lot of new information - I definitely recommend. There’s a lot of information so I came over multiple visits

Wonderful free museum highlighting personal experiences of young people under Nazi rule. Signage is all German, but free English audio guide is well done and succinct. There's definitely more to ascertain if you can read German, if you can't it's worth downloading the Deepl app and using it to translate the signage, as there's a lot more information there. Especially the wall panel of photos you flip around to read the story of the person. The current art exhibition is wonderful as well, but no translation or guide for signage there, so again Deepl extremely helpful if you can't read German. The old air raid shelter was very interesting too.

Very informative record of personal accounts! What was interesting to see and applaudable was the inclusion of accounts of the Roma and Sinti people. Far too often, these people are left out from the public discourse and knowledge. And saying so, there were accounts of gays and differently abled people who also perished at the hands of the National Socialist Regime. A must visit. Set aside time. I spent about 4 hrs trying to absorb as mush as I can and I used the audio translation. Make sure to go down below in the Air Raid Shelter!

Free entry, lots of detailed displays, fantastic guide. Our class came for the tour on field trip and there's definitely more here than can be seen in 1.5 hours. The underground bunker is a must-see, and I like that there are so many individual accounts from the city. The voice recording is particularly moving. We didn't take photos, obviously.

Great little free museum in the city center looking at the effect of war before, during and after on the children of Germany. Audio guide a must if you don't read German as a lot of it is not in English. Can get through it in about 90 mins.

I was really impressed with this place. It's small but very detailed when it comes to describing the life of the people (especially the Jewish) in Dusseldorf during the Second World War. The English audio guide is well narrated and the graphic design of the information is very well done.

One of the best museums of the nazionalsocialist era i have visited. There are intereresting and emotive stories of people, like childs or jewish, from Dusseldorf who live, fight, suffer and death under the regime.

Very moving experience. Small museum, focused on the real people of this fibe city in WW2 amid the tensions of what was happening in a cruel N. controlled Germany. The air raid shelter was impressive too.

Honestly probably one of, if not the most, museum I have ever visited. An entire dedication to the victims of the war, as well as explanations as to the rise of one of the greatest tragedies the world has seen. The most incredible part was reading through everything and being able to point out 1:1 similarities between the atrocities of the past and current heinous acts being committed by apartheid states in this day and age. A strong recommendation for any and everyone visiting Düsseldorf. Take in some history and learn about one of the worlds most traumatic events.

Super interesting museum! All the information is written in German but you can get audio guide in which goes through each part of the museum as English commentary. I found that it was a lot of information and a lot for my brain to process and listen to so would definitely do it in 2 sessions next time so it's not so overwhelming!

Very informative and approachable museum that has a lot of depth if you care to spend more time, or just get a quick take on a Dusseldorfer's experience of the events. Nicely laid out and with helpful professional staff.

This place gives good explanations and other perspectives on the second world war. You leave the place with a strange feeling and the things in there really touches you. Big plus for the possibility to have it in English.
