The
Maxkirche
is
located
in
a
quieter
area
of
Düsseldorf's
old
town,
which
generally
has
a
lot
to
offer
and
is
quite
large.
When
you
get
into
the
church,
which
doesn't
look
particularly
impressive
from
the
outside
and
is
sometimes
not
immediately
recognized
by
tourists,
you
discover
a
little
gem.
The
church
is
not
as
magnificent
as
the
St.
Andrew's
Church,
also
located
in
the
old
town,
but
reserved,
not
overloaded
as
is
often
the
case
with
this
Baroque
architectural
style
and
therefore
offers
space
to
breathe
and
to
look
at
the
many
small
details.
The
altars
are
particularly
striking
to
the
visitor,
as
is
the
fact
that
there
are
beautiful
lanterns
lined
up
along
the
rows
of
benches.
When
these
are
lit
for
a
mass,
a
heart-opening
atmosphere
of
mysticism
is
created.
Everything
was
kept
very
consistent.
If
you
need
some
peace
and
quiet
after
a
hectic
day
in
the
bustling
old
town
and
want
to
refresh
your
mind
and
eyes,
this
church
is
highly
recommended.
Even
if
the
visitor
is
not
a
Christian,
when
visiting
the
church
he
will
receive
an
enchanting
experience
of
the
architecture
and
its
implementation
in
harmony.
