A joke excavation site? Heritage Site? The museum was closed. There is no sign of the so-called "excavations" that were so great to read on the Internet. There is just a wall and nothing more... The adjacent farm/horse farm is not marked as PRIVATE and you are spoken to from the side when you enter... The garden, known as the herb garden, is a mixture of different plants such as potatoes etc.

Today was the day of open museums in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area. Haus Bürgel prepared an excellent celebration and it was very well attended. For the children there were pony rides, covered wagon rides... there were many informative stands and guided tours. I spent a wonderful day there.😀

Very beautiful farm on the foundations of a Roman fort. We were there for an open tour (€5 per person). A bit tedious but very experienced guide and extremely motivated. The orchards in front of the farm are also interesting. The farm is also a good starting point for walks and bike rides in the Urdenbacher Krämpe. Thanks to the ferry also to the left side of the Rhine. (zones)

I've had the Roman Museum Haus Bürgel on my list for a long time and was finally able to visit it last weekend. I am absolutely thrilled with my visit! The museum offers a fascinating insight into the history of the former Roman fort. The explanations are extremely informative and easy to understand. There are many impressive exhibits that bring the history of this region to life. However, what really made my visit special were the museum's volunteers. They are extremely friendly and helpful and gave me so many exciting details and background information. Your passion for the history of the fort is palpable and made my visit even more worthwhile. I am already looking forward to my next visit and plan to take part in one of the tours. The Roman Museum Haus Bürgel is definitely a cultural treasure that should not be missed in Monheim. Thank you to the great team and volunteers for this wonderful experience!

(Translated by Google) Smaller museum, but still interesting and exciting. Is beautifully located, easily accessible by public transport, on foot, by bike, etc. Sufficient parking spaces available.

(Translated by Google) A guided tour of the Roman Museum is offered on the first Sunday of every month. The guided tour costs 5 euros per person. We were in the Bürgel building for the first time and therefore only knew the story roughly from the newspaper or the website. We liked it a lot and we would be happy to recommend the visit including the guided tour. Haus Bürgel and its inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List is definitely an enrichment for Monheim and the region. A great destination.

Place is beautiful and peaceful. It's a unique combination of private farm and ancient site. Only minus is the lack of any information in English language.

A wonderful museum. Lovingly designed and very informative. The staff in Haus Bürgel (shop and entrance) is also extremely friendly and competent. I always enjoy coming to this beautiful place, which is also beautifully situated in the landscape.

It's always great to visit the house again as it shows a small late antique fort in full size.

Wonderful experience, for the whole family, we took a walk from Wanderparkplatz Piels Loch, to the Museum. The children loved seeing the horses, the chickens, playing with the dog, eating blackberries from the garden... I'm sorry that there is no option for food or snacks at this place, there are drinks and coffee. I think it would be a good idea to have something, maybe not too elaborate, just snacks would be good to have. Thank you for the explanation at the entrance, it was very funny to see and hear the children interacting with you.

Was very interesting. It's also great that they offer projects and action days. Exact information can be found locally in a 1/2 annual brochure. Absolutely worth it.

(Translated by Google) On the day of the open monument there were great offers both culinary and handicraft. The children could ride a pony, wear a hair wreath and have a tattoo painted. There was also a bouncy castle and covered wagon rides were possible. It was very beautiful and interesting.

Sehr schön in natürlicher Umgebung gelegen. Rundet einen Spaziergang dort schön ab.

The museum is okay. English brochure doesn't have much information. But I loved the setting of the place and they do regular events that seem fun.
