My wife and I have eaten here a couple of times now and have really enjoyed the food. Appears to be a family run restaurant. Good food selection and large portions. The only thing that I wish they had was more pictures of the dishes as we are admittedly not familiar with some dishes. That said, they have always been helpful in explaining the menu. We will definitely be back to keep trying more on the menu!

First time having Sri Lankan food. Another restaurant on my list of places known for having cuisine that can be very spicy 🌶 (it isn’t all that way and doesn’t need to be ordered that way, though. Would still be delicious mild or without heat) Super happy I tried this place. The food was so delicious, filling, and incredibly reasonably priced. The appetizers are vegetable and potato dumplings and curried chicken and vegetable rolls. The bread entree is roti pol; which is a Sri Lankan flatbread made with coconut. The fats and sugars from the coconut make the bread so soft and perfectly flavored to balance the curry it came with. The curry with that was a lamb (they also had fish and chicken) curry. It was also served with lunu miris which is a spicy (genuinely) onion chutney. The other entree is a Sri Lankan dish called kottu. That’s the most popular Sri Lankan street food and is a stir fried dish with chicken, vegetables, onion, chilis, shredded godhamba roti (a thinner, softer bread than the pol roti) and is served with a curry sauce to pour over it. I wanted spicy, but wanted to be cautious so got hot instead of extra hot. Next time I’d try extra hot, knowing it will absolutely be that. The dessert is called watallapam and is a Sri Lankan custard made with cane sugar, coconut milk, and eggs then spiced with nutmeg, cardamom, and cloves. That was suuuper good! I definitely look forward to going back because the food was exactly everything I wanted and the entrees and dessert were new to me, which I love! The man who owns it with his family was serving and he was super helpful, nice, welcoming, and proud of their food and cuisine which makes it fun to experience. I loved his appreciation when I said that we’d driven 40 minutes to visit 🙂 that kind of pride really makes a meal special.

This place was highly recommended by one of my colleagues and they were absolutely right. Starting from the ambiance to service to food taste to price, this restaurant is excellent. We ordered couple of dishes including lamb biriyani and rice platter with one curry and two veggie and they tasted like home made food. Fresh and tasty. My most favorite was the mango lassi, it tasted like heaven! We were greeted upon entering and the service was great. I highly recommend this place.

My husband and I went to House of Curry yesterday, and let me tell you, the food was beyond wonderful! It’s family owned, and the owner was so genuinely sweet and nice. They’ve gained two new return customers!

We took Chicken , string hoppers(Idiyappam) and chicken fried rice. All of them so amazing and tasty that each item has its own flavor and taste. Ginger chicken soup is a must try here.

We are fortunate to have such a great and unique restaurant in Rosemount. Other than the outstanding flavors, what I enjoy the most is being able to order something spicy and actually receive spicy food. If you do not enjoy spiciness (like my wife), just tell them and they will create the same amazing dishes mild. The owner is always friendly and truly appreciates his customers. In fact, when my son ordered the curry goat, extra spicy, the owner took the care to bring him a small dish of yogurt with his meal as safety net. It's service like this that makes me want to come back as often as possible.

A Hidden Gem in Rosemont. Not much on the outside, you could drive by 100 times and never notice. Clean and comfortable dining room with a Sri Lankan theme. Menu has a great selection of authentic Sri Lankan dishes with a variety of meats and spice levels ranging from mild to extra hot. I'm one for big bold flavors so I chose hot and it was everything I could have asked for and more. Went with the family a variety of dishes were ordered allowing us to sample off one another's plates and I can say everything was exceptionally good. My lamb biryani was top of the list though, hot and spicy. Don't miss out on the mango smoothie it's fantastic. Definitely worth coming back to

This is a hidden gem. Coming from Tamil Nadu, India, the food here is somewhat familiar to us, but with a twist. Absolutely loved their Kottu, String Hoppers and Watlapam. The spicy sambal gives you an instant kick.

It’s long overdue that I share my thoughts on the delightful culinary offerings of House of Curry in Rosemount, MN. As someone with Sri Lankan roots, I can wholeheartedly attest to the authenticity and flavors this establishment brings to the table. I recently indulged in their signature rice and curry dish, opting for the succulent chicken variant. Complementing the main were two exquisite vegetable sides: a hearty long bean curry and a vibrant beetroot curry. The symphony of flavors was nostalgic, reminding me of the rich heritage of Sri Lankan cuisine. Often, the nuanced differences between Sri Lankan and Indian cuisine are overlooked, with many bundling curry as a singular Eastern culture delicacy. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Sri Lankan cuisine stands out for its unique combinations of herbs, spices, and especially its varieties of rice and coconut - both staples in the island nation. Seafood, whether freshly caught or preserved, holds a special place in the country’s culinary tapestry. Sri Lanka’s history as a pivotal point in the oceanic silk road meant it was touched by various foreign influences, blending seamlessly with local traditions. Elements from South Indian, Indonesian, and Dutch cuisines have woven into the fabric of Sri Lankan food, making it a diverse culinary adventure. Stepping into House of Curry is like being enveloped in a warm embrace, much of which can be attributed to the welcoming presence of the owner, Disa. His affable nature and genuine passion for sharing Sri Lankan culture through food are palpable. A suggestion to the uninitiated: Let Disa surprise you. Trust in his expertise, and you’re in for a treat. Alongside Disa, his wife pours her heart and soul into this venture, making every dish a labor of love. Minnesota’s colder days find a perfect antidote in the heartwarming meals from House of Curry. So, if you’re looking for a taste adventure that marries tradition with comfort, make sure to pay them a visit. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience. A must-try for anyone looking to warm their palate and soul.

We loved this place. Cute inside. Very helpful service and also very friendly. We had several questions and they were all answered kindly and with enthusiasm. We had the chicken rolls, lamb kottu and Sri Lankan special. All were delicious. Tons of flavor! Picked 4/5 spice for the curry and we could feel the burn which we love! Would definitely recommend!

Ok this was our first time here, definitely would go again. I had the chicken curry, it was super good (ate the leftovers for lunch today), my husband had the coconut chicken curry he really liked his as well (he didn’t have any leftovers to bring home) we also got a recommendation meal, sorry I can’t remember the name. It was divine! Nothing was spicy, we asked for mild to be safe and because my 15 month old was going to have some. She sipped my chicken curry without a blink so it’s full of flavor but no bite. A few downfalls were, there are no free refills on drinks (go figure on a place that serves curry). Also at the time we went we were the only ones there and the server was not that great. We had to wave him over and ask for stuff, like straws and the check.

This place is good. Food is really tasty and the customer service is wonderful too except when they ask “do you want your curry to be spicy” and charge extra 75 cents to make it spicy .. funny .

The food at House of Curry is so good! I grew up eating Sri Lankan food at home, and this surpassed my expectations. It’s authentic and delicious! The menu is also translated well so English speaking customers can enjoy Sri Lankan food.

This was delicious. Absolutely cannot believe it's my first time here. The plate of food was so filling I'm taking half home. We ordered an app of fish cutlets and our entrees were Lamb Kottu and chicken kottu- they were all good. The gravy with the lamb Kottu was spectacular. We will be back. Also, I appreciate the offering of level of spice as I am originally from ND and had a bland palette so it's nice to expand my spice repertoire slowly as I try new meals and restaurants. I ordered my meal mild and tried my husband's medium - both were very Delicious. Update- 9/24/22 we still love it. The kottu is still my favorite!! Spicy cauliflower is amazing too

I was craving curry and this place delivered! Ordered the chicken coconut curry to go and when I got home the food was still hot, flavorful, and amazing. The chicken was incredibly juicy, the spices were on point, and the heat was definitely perfect (ordered hot). The service was awesome and I will definitely come back here again!
