This place is a GEM! It's one of those small local places that is so good that you don't tell tourists about so you don't add to the already long line out the door. The menu is small, but that is a sign of a restaurant that sticks to its roots and doesn't try to be something it's not. This placenis a char house, and it serves nashville hot chicken, burgers, and darn good chicken sausage. The food is fresh and cooked perfectly and not dry. The other thing I love about this place is that it's homemade, and when it's homemade, stuff runs out like their banana pudding. I have yet to try it, but it's to the point where I am going to camp outside to be first in line! The items I recommend are the Friendly Fire Fries and the Bugers. The fries are AWESOME and have the right amount of spiciness that leaves a little tingle and a smile on your face. The turkey burger is moist and flavorful, and some of the best pickels out there. The sauce with the burgers are delicious, and the red onion makes the whole experience a one to remember. These are my thoughts and encourage a visit and form your own opinion. I promise Chubby's Char House won't disappoint.

Recently got takeout from this Melrose Park Chicken Joint and absolutely loved it. The friendly fire fries, their version of loaded fries is probably the best around Chicago and the Nashville style Fog Horn Leg Horn Sandwich hits all the right notes. Highly recommended.

Just stopped in for lunch. I had the foghorn leghorn with a side of fries and it was very, very good. The chicken was juicy and delicious. I ordered my sandwich hot, but I did hear them say there is a mild version. It was spicy, but not too bad. I will be coming back to try the other things on the menu

They serve very well cooked chicken, as in cooked like it should be. Had the chicken sandwich (hot) which was very good. Chicken wasn't overly hit, but I like hot food so beware. Decent prices as well. I also bought a side if fried okra for $5 and there was a lot which was surprised by, at least a half pound or something.

If you’re considering stopping by, do yourself a favor and don’t walk, RUN. The chicken is so juicy and fresh. And I mean fresh. It will burn your mouth because it was in the fryer -30 seconds ago but you can’t stop eating because it’s that good. I hope Chubby becomes the Forest Park staple it deserves to be. 11/10 Keith Lee would approve.

Ordered chicken sandwiches to go after hearing some buzz about this place and it did not disappoint. We did foghorn leghorn mild and hot. They really nail that great hot chicken style where the batter has that exact right burst of intensity. They also do some creative things with their slaws and sauces that compliment the chicken sandwich. Friendly service and food was ready ahead of the pickup time. Highly recommend.

I was in Chicago on business and this restaurant came up on google maps. What a stroke of luck. The chicken sandwich was VERY good. The slaw and pickles topped it off perfectly. I think the chicken by itself was top 2 I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of chicken. Next time I'm back in Chicago I'm going back to Chubby's.

They just changed their menu. I had the two peice DRk with fries and biscuit ($15 with a bottle of water, tip included). The chicken was crispy and juicy on the inside. The fries were crisp and flaky on the inside. My only negative comment is that they had no diet beverages except for water.

It's a small place with a counter and just a few tables. It's mostly a pickup place so I gave it 4 stars for atmosphere. But the food and service are 5 stars. Everyone is friendly and helpful and the service is quick. The foghorn leghorn sandwich hot was amazing. Thick juicy chicken with perfect breading and sauce and toppings on the perfect bun. Very messy but so delicious. The onion rings were also great. I'll be back.

Very friendly staff. First time I tried them I got the wings and okra. Second time I got the basic chicken sandwich. I really loved the wings. I was just imagining them drenched in mild sauce. They may need to add that as an option. Speaking of sauce, I don’t love the charge for sauces. The mild is decent. Their special sauce tasted more like mayo than anything else. Everything was cooked to order. They have really good crispy fries as well. Wish they had better drink selections. A good place to come to even if you don’t like “hot” chicken. I’ll be back to try the mac and bread pudding.

The chicken was freshly made to order AND they have no heat options for wimps like me. The service was grea!!! They recommend a carbon free water that they sale called Mela. It turned out to be really good. Needless to say this will be my go to chicken spot when I’m craving fried food.
