Today, we accidentally discovered this hidden burger joint. The hard-working staff and the owners were so friendly in guiding me and a couple of workmates on what should we order. I always thought that for a nice Portuguese Burger 🍔 I needed to visit one of the outlets of a fast food joint, but I was very impressed with the quality of food, Portuguese sauce, generous quantity of chips ( something not to be missed here!!!!) 😋 This is a must try outlet I saw a couple of salads and mouth-watering full BBQ chicken they were sending for catering, which I am going to try next time I am in the area. I heard other customers also talking positively about the experience. I am glad I was able to find your outlet and keep up the quality and lovely smile team, Zest, as this was your difference for making our lunch experience awesome!!!! The only thing worse than the food is the new owners responses to customer feedback. Zest is a shadow of its former self. I went today for the first time in a while and won’t be back sadly. The roast chicken was dry and barely warm - tasted like yesterdays leftovers. The portion of chips are now stingy - a medium serve barely feeds one person. Similarly a “large” salad is now served in a medium container - about half the size it used to be only now more expensive. This place used to be buzzing on weekends and the best place by far in the area to get a family lunch with hot juicy chicken straight out of the oven. There used to be 5 staff that could barely keep up with orders, sadly now looks like it’s on life support with just two staff outnumbering the one lunchtime customer.

Has Zest changed owners recently? Last few times I've been disappointed with the quality of the burgers. Today's burgers had stale buns and the fries lukewarm. I've been visiting for the last few years because of your excellent quality but the last few times quality seems to have slipped. Prices go up but quality goes down. Won't be going back again.

Ordered burgers and chips. Nothing like the old owners. Hot chips bag was half full. Chicken in the Portuguese burger was barely visible. Ordered burger with just eat and cheese and tomato sauce. They were happy to charge $2 for the cheese , however didn’t remove anything for the lettuce, onion, beetroot and tomato that I didn’t want. Tomato sauce in the burger was almost non existent. Told the owner at site but wasn’t helpful and then blamed the staff when I got home and was frustrated by what I got. so sorry but wouldn’t go back again.

The new owner has made consistent efforts to bring back the quality across all dishes. The roasted chicken, burgers, club sandwich and salads never disappoint. If you have stopped going there, give them a chance, that's worth it.

Didn’t think it was possible to make the Portuguese chicken wraps better than the old owners did but somehow they have nailed it! Chilli sauce is as great as ever (always ask for extra), chicken was cooked perfectly with some crispy bits, lettuce was fresh and wrap perfectly made. Added a small chips and chipotle Mayo dip, both delicious - chips had a perfect crunch. Some other reviews have been pretty scathing but they are just people resistant to change. My recommendation is give the new owners and their workers a chance, seems they have found their groove. It’s not easy taking over an existing business and deliver it like for like. Plus supporting local shops is so much better for the community! No complaints from me at all and I’ve been coming here for 6 years. Only downside is going to be coming back too many times. Well done guys!

We had an excellent experience. We had a 70th birthday catered. The food was beautiful with many of our guests commenting on how lovely it was and asking who did the catering. The service and advice was excellent nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend Zest at Wareemba.

Great takeaway. Burgers are awesome. Better than Oporto. Chips are top shelf and there are phenomenal salads. Only downside are the burger buns. Damper buns go stale. Need to go back to sesame rolls.
