We popped in for dinner last night after seeing the great reviews and we were not disappointed! Staff super friendly, Turkish beer was delicious, the lamb kebab and eggplant dip was to die for. Flavours were fresh and authentic and we both really enjoyed our meal. Will definitely be back and recommend!

All I can say is wow. Went here based on the reviews and it didn't disappoint. The food is excellent. We had a mixed meze as an entree and there was easily enough for 3 perhaps 4, the yoghurt and cucumber dip was particularly good. We also had a serve of stuffed cabbage which was fresh and delicious. We shared a plate of chicken kebabs and kofte which were tender and juicey and seasoned perfectly. Each plate also comes with some sides which included some grilled green chilli which is something I haven't seen since I was last in Turkey. To finish off and just like Turkey there's complimentary tea which is the perfect end to the meal. There's also a really relaxed vibe at Kayra which is a mixture of the design details, the picture of Attaturk on the wall and the relaxed nature of the 2 gentlemen that look after you. This is easily my new favourite place and I look forward to coming back time after time.

So delicious! Change of management and still the same scrumptious food we always enjoy. This beautiful family run spot has a fond place in our heart. We always bring friends visiting the Inner West for a lovely Turkish experience. Get lots of dips, Turkish tea and a mix grill- you can’t go wrong!

We had an excellent experience at this restaurant. The meats were perfectly cooked, and the salad was incredibly fresh. The rice pudding for dessert was a delightful finish to our meal. Special thanks to Latife and Yunus for the warm welcome and attentive service at our table. This was our first visit, and we're already looking forward to returning with friends in the future.

Great Turkish restaurant. As a Turk I can tell you the taste is authentic. Great atmosphere and generous portions. The staff are super friendly and nice as well. Highly recommend and will be coming back with more friends! Recommend the mix grill for two and the meze platter. You will not be disappointed

The food was amazing. The meat was very tender and full of flavour. The dips were all delicious. My favourite was the chilli and tomato dip. We will definitely be back soon and this time with more friends to share this great experience

To find something interesting for dinner. Even pass few Turkish restaurants and made me think why I haven't tried to eat Turkish food. Cozy, tidy and nice atmosphere. Happy to find a nice place to eat. Nice vegetarian and Lamb Kebab are amazing. Turkish bread and dip was on the house. Thanks for amazing food and service. I hope you could introduce more Turkish cuisine.

When we arrived at this restaurant we were greeted not only with delicious food but also with great hospitality. We were pleasantly surprised with extra treats and this gesture made our experience even more special. The flavor of the food was truly amazing. The staff made us feel at home. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also very warm. Thank you to everyone who helped us have this wonderful experience. We will definitely come back again and would recommend this place to everyone!

Great food. We got the mix grill meats and mix meze, with an extra entre, which was enough for four people. The dips were great, especially the fava and antep dips. Breads portions were a bit small, recommend to get an extra piece. The grilled meats were great too, good flavour and timing is just right, tender texture. Food was great overall, which was nice as the last two times I had Turkish food at Newtown was a let down... and this place was not!

Obsessed!! Staff were very friendly and attentive. A very cosy and comfortable atmosphere. Food was absolutely amazing, every dish was great, we polished every dish. Would highly recommend food and shiraz here.

Their mix grill for 2 dishes are excellent and smoked eggplant was very good also. Had a wonderful dinner there with my family.

The mixed dips platter is one of the best I had in Australia, especially the hummus. Also, the kunafeh is so delicious and authentic.

Dropped in here for a last minute new years eve dinner and felt like I was back in Istanbul. The musicians pulled us in and the atmosphere was incredible. The food is absolutely delicious and authentic and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
