I would not say it is a 5-star hotel. The location is fantastic and the view of Darling Harbour is nice. The room was average, no tubs and the "Darling Harbour" view was a view of Novotel, Ibis and half view of the harbour. The service was average given that the hotel was fully booked as per the reception, thus they can't accommodate a late check out. Early check-ins are all based on availability which is fine, tried calling on the day prior to arrival, but they cant confirm it unless we do the check in process, if available then good, else you will have to wait by the hotel lobby. The view by the pool was fantastic and I would recommend taking a dip. The breakfast was average and standard, nothing special. I can say that the employees were all very friendly and helpful.

Lovely stay, great view, amazing staff, very very good room service, AMAZING cafe, very comfy beds, it was modern and felt luxurious. We had a full view of the harbour and it was just great. I also LOVE the design of the building and lights at night.. We got a free pen, too, pretty random, but I lost it on the plane and now I’m sad (Half joke?). We came to Sydney for the first time in 5 years to visit family, and stayed in the Sofitel 2 nights and a morning of our stay, and it was absolutely just amazing.

The service was exceptional as always, with the staff going above and beyond. They were always attentive to my needs and requests. My room was spacious, modern, and beautifully appointed with luxurious amenities and an abundance of natural sunlight. The bed was so comfortable, with the option for a customized pillow. The highlight of my room, however, was the stunning view of the harbor, which was simply breathtaking. The hotel's location is perfect for anyone looking to explore Sydney, with easy access to many of the city's best attractions, including the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The dining options were also excellent, with delicious food and drinks available at the hotel's on-site restaurants and bars. I had an incredible stay at the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable experience in Sydney. The service, amenities, and location were all top-notch, this made it an unforgettable stay.

A beautiful location, the decor is amazing and the food is great. Staff sound kind and work very hard as it seems. I would recommend it for holidays and luxury retreats or staying with a family who enjoys this sort of hotel!! The food is very lovely and very enjoyable. It is costly and for a good reason. Rooms are big, beds are fine, room service is great and the staff are very experienced.

There are some things at a hotel stay that are critical to a good experience. Especially with Covid you want a room that is meticulously clean, super comfortable bed and great staff interactions. All of those things were abundant in our two day stay. The decor and amenities are very appealing and show much finesse. The floor to ceiling views of Darling Harbour and the city will never get old. It is quite a treat. The food and service at the level 35 club lounge was excellent. All the staff displayed professionalism and a sincerity in their desire to make the stay a pleasant experience. The location is obviously very convenient. If you don’t want to pay for valet parking there are plenty of parking stations near by. This was a memorable stay for all the right reasons.

Many thanks to the entire Sofitel team. We had an unforgettable time in this absolutely modern and elegant hotel. Our room had a magnificent view of Darling Harbour. From here we could enjoy the fireworks in privacy. The room offered enough space and was furnished to a very high standard. The pool area is a small oasis to relax in the middle of Sydney. The staff were always very helpful and friendly. The cocktails in the champagne bar were very good, but the bar perhaps lacks a bit of charm. Definitely one of the best hotels in Sydney at the moment from our point of view.

Great location and easy access to the business district. Incredibly comfortable beds. Room service is limited and frankly not worth it. Overly priced. Go out. However not really that close to good restaurants. Amenities are exceptional.

Nestled at the heart of Sydney's vibrant Darling Harbour, the Sofitel is a true gem of luxury and French elegance. From the moment I stepped into the opulent lobby, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of sophistication and warmth. The impeccable service here is truly remarkable. The staff's attention to detail and genuine hospitality made me feel like a valued guest from the very beginning. Whether it was a warm greeting at the door or the thoughtful recommendations for exploring the city, their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident throughout my stay. The rooms are a sanctuary of comfort and style, with breathtaking views of the harbour or the city skyline. The only thing I wished they had, was hair straighteners in the rooms. Apart from that, it was a fabulous stay in Sydney!

Great hotel to stay at and could not get a better location. Room was great and the free upgrade was even better. However I ordered a complimentary anniversary cake and it took 1+ hour and two follow up phone calls to receive. Buffet breakfast was delectable

Spent two nights at the Sofitel, the staff were very lovely and made the experience very luxurious. We requested a room with a bath (not guaranteed) and they were able to meet our request which made the time so much more relaxing. Location is prime within walking distance to Sydney Harbour and public transport. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As a business owner myself, I have to take my hats off to all Sofitel staffs. They were really well trained and always put customer’s service at their highest priority. I have booked two nights via American Express Business Platinum card and although the waiting for a room upgrade took much longer than my usual stays elsewhere (more than 1hr), the reception staff (Sophie) was very good and gave my wife and I a complimentary drink while waiting for the upgrade. The room had a magnificent view to Darling Harbour and the beds were relatively comfortable (it can be better for this kind of hotels). We were very impressed by the quality of food presented at dinner. The taste and presentation were outstanding! We had the usual 4pm checkout but although I realised my car was missing a window, Garland did a fantastic job in explaining to me what could have happened and that they will get in touch with me for follow up. He offered two complimentary drinks to my kids. I could complain and be a difficult customer but from a business perspective they did the maximum they could and that’s what matters in any business. So bravo guys. If there is one major thing for management to consider is to improve the communication between reception and housekeeping as the time between a request and the job getting done was too long in many instances. I hope this review helps you guys stand out from the crowd as you really deserve success. Well done team 👏

We really liked this hotel but there were a few issues with the room that made it not really feel like a true five star hotel: No turn down service -- in fact they are trying really really hard to not service the room at all. You cannot reschedule the housekeeping at all. If you're not ready when they're ready, too bad so sad. There's a timber paneling effect on some of the walls but it's not even veneer: it's just wood grain printed on plastic and it just feels cheap and was pretty dinged up already. They spent a lot of money on really nice light controls but didn't bother to make the buttons back lit/legible at night so it's a surprise what lights turn on. They put the chain for the sun screen behind the TV and the storage so it's a drama to lower/raise the screen. This kind of negated the view on the room as we pretty much had to leave the screen down due to the drama of getting to the chain. Breakfast was excellent, a good selection of everything and it felt like it was good quality food. The champagne bar was great, had a lot of lovely cocktails watching Darling Harbour below. The staff were really lovely. This place is really now in the thick of things with a new convention centre and an easy walk to an expanded/rejuvenated Chinatown.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the breathtaking views from my room to the impeccable service provided by the staff, this hotel truly offers a remarkable experience. Room: I was greeted by a stunning view of Sydney's iconic skyline, especially during my stay when the Vivid lighting show was taking place. The room was impeccably clean, providing a comfortable atmosphere for my entire stay. Service: The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. From the moment I checked in until the day of departure, the staff consistently displayed a high level of professionalism and warmth, making me feel truly valued as a guest. Location: Location is superb. Situated in Darling Harbour, it offers easy access to a wide range of attractions and amenities. The central business district is within walking distance, allowing me to explore the city's vibrant culture and entertainment scene conveniently. My stay at the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour was nothing short of exceptional. The room with its mesmerizing view, the outstanding service provided by the staff, and the hotel's convenient location all contributed to a truly memorable experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a remarkable stay in Sydney.

Having not stayed here until recently, we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel has some fantastic views out across Darling Harbour, which was especially nice for vivid which was on whilst we were there. The hotel has some good bars scattered across a few levels and a restaurant which has a large variety of options for breakfast. There were coffee pods and a machine in the room. There rooms were clean fresh and we'll presented. We took a young baby and our own portable cot which was easy to fit into the room even with 2 large double beds. The infinity pool looked fantastic, however unfortunately despite it being advertised as open all year, is not heated so wasn't an option to use whilst we stayed. The hotel is located in a very convenient place right next to the convention centre with the light rail stopping behind the building.

Room was lovely, staff friendly and attentive at every turn. Breakfast was a brilliant spread of near everything you could crave for breakfast. Gym had great equipment and views across the harbour. If I had any complaints it was that the pool wasn’t heated so it’s not comfortable in the evening or on colder days. Also look at getting buttons/bells or even better QR codes for around the pool for table service. This worked well at a Pullman I went to in Phuket. Bonus is the staff leave the bar and are able to keep the tables clear and old towels when people leave.

Well located hotel, but check-in experience was average - simply serving the line. The occasional “Bonjour” thrown in did no enhance the service too much. Rooms were nice but the age of the hotel starts to show. I would rate the stay an average 5-star experience without too many memorable moments.

First and foremost, Pat the duty manager was incredibly amazing in making our stay perfect! She is definitely a gem. The hotel is so much and all staff are so friendly from entering into the hotel, you would feel special already. The pool is stunning with the darling harbour view. The location is fantastic and close to everything. Wifi is so fast and the breakfast has lots of options. Highly recommend and will definitely come back here again and again. Thanks so much to all the staff at the Sofitel Darling Harbour.

It’s a bit of walk from the city center but unless you have a big suitcase to carry it’s a very reasonable distance to everything you’ll need from your stay in Sydney. The room is spacious, clean, and very well equipped and the common facilities are also impeccable. The full breakfast at the restaurant on the third floor is insanely good. What a delightful vacation thanks to Sofitel.

During my second visit to the Sofitel Darling Harbor, I was impressed by the hotel's numerous advantages. It boasts convenient transportation services and offers breathtaking views of the Sydney Aquarium, towering city buildings, and iconic landmarks like the Opera House and the famous bridge. The hotel's proximity to renowned casinos and historic Sydney sites adds to its appeal. Additionally, water transport options, including ferries to attractions like the zoo and golden sandy beaches, Manly City, and Luna Park, provide convenience and charm. Upon arrival, a tram at the hotel entrance simplifies travel to Chinatown and shopping centers. The entrance features a spacious driveway for guest arrivals and car parking. Once inside, an imposing revolving door and elegant side entrances lead to a sophisticated hotel lobby. In the center of this space stands a bar adorned with leather chairs, complemented by comfortable lighting and ceiling-hung artworks. The hotel's third floor houses a bar catering to guests and visitors. The staff's reception and service consistently aim to exceed customer expectations, ensuring a memorable and homely experience. A sizable banquet hall accommodating around 400 individuals, along with several meeting rooms, is available. Ascending to the 34th floor reveals the executive lounge, which offers breathtaking views, particularly during sunrise and sunset. The hotel rooms exude elegance and comfort, featuring impeccable bathrooms and ideal water pressure. The front desk staff, renowned for their professionalism and experience, provide valuable city information and exceptional service with a friendly demeanor. In conclusion, I extend my gratitude to the entire team at Sofitel Darling Harbor for contributing to an unforgettable stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for two nights, and it was truly a delightful experience. The service provided was top-notch, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. The room was very clean. However, one minor drawback was that the window glass, particularly from the outside, appeared to be somewhat dirty. The highlight of my stay, however, was the breathtaking view of Darling Harbour from my room. Waking up to such a mesmerizing sight each morning added an extra layer of enjoyment to my trip.

We were upgraded the second night after much debate. Not to a corner room as told we could be still a lovely floor with view. The noise however from the construction in front of the hotel was consistent - all week and weekend - from 6am until the evening. If you were on a lower floor good luck it was loud and constant. Love this hotel, love the Darling Harbour view, the ONLY reason I stay here. Naomi in the lounge was AMAZING and really attentive. Love the restaurant and Champagne bar too - lobster roll is to die for. Great stay but be aware if you are a light sleeper not for you - for at least 5 years we were told.

Highly recommend! Beautiful clean and spacious rooms! We arrived yesterday and was greeted and met by Lovely staff at the door. We were then guided to Tommaso at the front desk and what a wonderful gentleman. He gave us the best introduction we have ever had, explaining all and answering all our questions in such a calm manner. Highly recommend this hotel, it is worth ever cent. Staff here are friendly and very well mannered. And the service is stunning! Thank you from me and my husband Room 2107

The check-in was great, lovely concierge and a friendly front desk team. The food was great for the whole conference. I loved having fresh fruit in the mornings. Check-out was easy, the room was really nice. The toilet door was noisy each time I opened and closed it, so I left it open for the whole stay.

  • 4/5 Andrew L. 5 months ago on Google
Great location for conferences. Modern and plush interior reception area. Friendly staff at the front. The rooms were very clean and modern. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was large. Awesome gym with peloton bikes and pool area. From there I had a few challenges - woken in the morning on weekdays at about 6:30am by workers on the building site directly next door. They were jack hammering continuously. Coming from Perth this was 3:30am for me. It was impossible to sleep. The breakfast spread was great but the service for coffee was slow. Also the taste of coffee was an issue- I had to get mine redone (it was burnt). All up took 30 minutes for a coffee so I left.

I think it's always a matter of expectation but when a hotel claims for itself so be a five star luxury hotel it should live up to it. From check in to customer service and food sofitel did not meet our expectations. We went to Sydney on the weekend (which I wouldn't recommend but sometimes you can do nothing about it in your itinerary). The hotel was crowded. Not just busy, crowded! Which led to two of our first issues: super long wait for check in and there was no room upgrade was available because the hotel was packed. The pool was over capacity, people had to wait for others to leave to get a sun lounger. Some other issues we discovered were overall cleanliness, the missing hospitality of most of the staff (with a few exceptions) and the food. Breakfast was definitely ok but not 5 star. Parking costs 89$ per night... Cocktails 25 - definitely not worth it. Worst of all is the construction site just in front of it. So if you're lucky and get a room like that - it comes with the noise and the not so pretty view ;-) Overall very much overpriced and I wouldn't come here again, can not recommend it.

The location and convenience of transport really is something rarely experienced. The Sofitel is luxurious, relaxing and lovely place to stay. The restaurants are wonderful with the food being absolutely amazing. The layout for breakfast doesn't flow however and was a little frustrating. I celebrated my birthday on this stay and the restaurant organised a little surprise which was delightful. The view from the room was simply breathtaking.

  • 1/5 Rossco P. 4 months ago on Google
The wide angle lens of these room photos will have you thinking it’s spacious, it’s not. The photos in corner rooms online show a view of harbour from the bed, there’s not. The mattress was the worst I’ve ever slept on. The blind clanged against the window frame all night and the rooms weren’t soundproof from outside partying at all. Staff were nice enough but didn’t care to fix our experience. They didn’t feel responsible about the misrepresentation of the rooms on the web photos, even though they work as a team to represent their hotel.

  • 4/5 Monaliza C. 6 months ago on Google
We were pleased to be offered an early check in and the check out process was really smooth as well. The room was really nice and offered a great view of the city with Balmain shower products. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was just a slight difference with the romantic package amenities we were provided in-room to what was described on the booking up. Still, over all we're satisfied with our experience.

  • 5/5 Helen L. 1 year ago on Google
Our room was clean and comfortable with a nice view of Darling Harbour. Bed was excellent and there was even a pillow menu! Good selection of food at the breakfast buffet and all staff we encountered were pleasant to deal with. Didn't have time to use the infinity pool but will have to come back another time!

I paid $2000 for 3 night ( which was supposed to be 5 star hotel, overall experience 4star hotel) It was supposed to be a luxury baby moon for my partner and I but I was very disappointed with Sofitel. I was so looking forward to stay here but my experience was bad. On my booking which I booked 3 weeks prior I requested to be on a higher floor but looks like your booking system totally ignored my request. I also asked for to be on a higher floor when I arrived and my request was ignored again. We ended up staying on level 6 there was title of 35 floors. When checking in no one told me where everything is ie Pool and where we will have our breakfast. When we got into the room I was shocked that there was no complimentary water ( I expected that from a 5 star hotel). I stayed there for 3 nights and everyday breakfast buffet food was the same. Actually got sick of eating the same thing for 3 days in the role. Went to the pool area the bar was never opened and there was no staff there at all. Tried to use the phone to order drinks but no one was answering the phone to take orders. Very disappointed with my stay at the Sofitel. I wouldn’t say Sofitel is a 5 star hotel. Won’t be staying there again

The hotel is beautiful and new. But for a hotel who considers themselves luxury, we thought it missed on a few key areas. 1. No Mini bar 2. Terrible TV section 3. We stayed in the prestige suit looking over the freeway. For the price we paid we expected much more. With our stay we were given exclusive Club Millesime breakfast access. When we got there my husband was asked to go back to our room and put closed shoes. Which he did. When I sat down I noticed 3 other people in thongs and room slippers. When we asked the staff they said they didn’t notice and couldn’t do anything about it now. We felt very singled out and for this reason we will not return nor recommend this hotel to any friends and family

The luxury room with darling harbour view was absolutely amazing, came here after my wedding and had them decorate the room and they follow my instructions perfectly. All staff was very friendly and polite, perfect 24/7 customer service. This hotel was worth every penny and will definitely be coming back again.

We had an absolutely dream-like experience staying at the Sofitel for our honeymoon. Upon arrival our luggage was taken by the immaculately uniformed door staff, and we were greeted warmly by Phoebe, who checked us in with a welcoming personal story about her own wedding and recommended the best features of the hotel for us to relax during our stay. We were bowled over by our room, a Prestige Suite on level 32, which was not only extremely luxurious and modern, but also had a better view than any other hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. We were so comfortable that we found little need to leave our room during our stay. We decided the best dinner option was to order room service, enjoying the privacy and spectacular view of our own room. Our bathtub was also a favourite feature, and I think we set a new record for the number of bubble baths requested by any guest! We also enjoyed breakfast on Level 35 every morning, and can definitely recommend this delicious and scenic experience. But all this was underpinned by the warm and genuine service given by all staff members, from the reception desk to the housekeeping staff. We were made to feel like royalty during our stay and it was the perfect way to start our married life. We hope to return to Sofitel before too long and thanks to everyone for making our experience so wonderful.

think paying over $1000 a night for a kingsuite is ridiculous when room service is not available after midnight. There were no items in the mini bar and no room service. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and with covid the excuses to cut back and not provide services while still charging a premium is outrageous and not acceptable...this is will be our last visit. Beds ok. Bathroom good. But certainly not upholding the star service it claims. Look elsewhere.

The staff at the Sofitel Darling Harbour were wonderful and made my stay excellent. The rooms are light, comfortable and not too small, there's plenty of room for your luggage and I LOVE that they have some hooks to hang your towel/coat etc. Breakfast was amazing, such a great spread and the coffee was delicious . The only negatives for me were that my bathroom wasn't entirely clean and the bed was rock hard. I love a firm bed but this was next level. On the upside, it didn't have a big dent in it so it was flat all over and they have a pillow menu so you can order whatever pillows you like. they're the only things I can fault about my entire stay.

The customer service is fantastic. right from the entry everyone was super friendly. Breakfast was delicious. We are vegan and Gluten-free so Bebe and other manager made customized breakfast of us. I really enjoyed the whole experience. I must say this is one of the best hotel experience I had.

Stayed here for a convention. Great hotel. Good service. Only problem is the option. Make up room = housekeeping If you do not want housekeeping, you will need to press Do not disturb. *update (forgot to add on) => however do not disturb will also result in laundry not sent into the room. you will need to call the front counter to arrange for a send back. It will be great if options are - Make up ( only make up when light is on) - no make up (no make up but laundry can send in) - do not disturb (no disturbance)

I had an incredible stay at Sofitel Darling Harbour! The staff's warmth and professionalism truly stood out, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Their attention to detail and willingness to assist with any request made my experience exceptional. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, situated near the heart of the city. Being within walking distance of many attractions and landmarks made exploring the city a breeze. The stunning views of Darling Harbour from my room added an extra touch of luxury to my stay. Overall, I highly recommend Sofitel Darling Harbour to anyone seeking a delightful stay with excellent service and easy access to the city's offerings.

My experience of Sofitel was for a staycation for my birthday. Loved the ambiance and the vibe. We booked Luxury Room, Darling Harbour view. And every penny was worth it. The infinity pool is where I can spend the whole evening. The view, both in light and dark, looks stunning. It’s truly an experience. Also, I can’t recommend you enough the breakfast options. It’s super tasty with so many options. You’ll have staff show you around and get you seated and everything you want will be served at the table. Definitely going back. This time gonna take better photos 👻

Great experience staying at the Sofitel. The staff is great, the location is great. Rooms are a bit standard in terms of size and appearance but they are well kept and clean, and have great views. The thing that cements this place as 5 stars for me is the breakfast buffet. There are a ton of stations offering a huge variety of food, and it's all delicious.

Easily the best hotel to stay at in Sydney. The interior is well rounded with chic decor but welcoming colours. The facilities such as the infinity pool and gym are well kept and always fresh. The food is delightful and diverse. This is my favourite hotel to stay at in Sydney- especially the corner room. Put aside the beautiful design and intricate details of the stay at Sofitel Sydney. The service is second to none. I dropped my keys down a crevice near by the hotel tonight and came by to ask for wire hangers to create a hook. Without hesitation, the hotel staff members Lucas and Taka saved my night by supporting me in crafting an apparatus with two sacrificed wire hangers. 6/5 stars for this night.

My partner’s family recently invited my partner and myself here for an event and it was lovely. Staff were great and really friendly, Champagne bar is beautiful with a great view of Darling Harbour (especially during Vivid), and it was really nice to see the little touches of French culture here and there, as my partners family is French. Can’t wait to come back

It's in a great location, and the city views are beautiful but for a superior room with a king size bed I found it very small. No external speaker for music nor any radio device and although you can mirror your phone to the TV it's not very logical. Mini bar was not in the room which I found very odd. Bed was very comfortable and valet parking was great.

  • 5/5 Laura G. 9 months ago on Google
Loved our stay. Buffet breakfast was great. A couple of mornings had a pretty big line to get in but on a public holiday weekend during vivid that is to be expected. Staff were getting through it in a very reasonable time. Amazing view, lovely room.

Great hotel with great rooms and service. I stayed here to attend conference at ICC Sydney, best decision made ever. Located conveniently near Darling Harbour - there is no shortage of restaurants to eat or places to shop. Quick walk to train connecting to other harbours - you will never be bored. In room dining and breakfast buffet were great. Amenities and toileries in room were good. Suitable for family, people on vacation oe those travelling for business.
