Everything is made fresh and in house at Kindred, a charming terrace house that you can easily miss if you drive down Cleveland Street often. Inside you'll be greeted by generous serving sizes, friendly service and Italian inspired dishes. Make sure to order a slice (or two) of the bread!

Kindred last night was amazing. From service to food everything was on point. Manager was accommodating when we asked to move tables. Waiter was friendly and very experienced. But the food, oh the food.. We recently got back from Italy and I can honestly say this is great Italian food. As they mentioned, not traditional, but great. We had 4 dishes plus olives and bread, and everything was exceptional. We even got a takeaway of the trout dip! Very affordable and great value for money. I doubt you’ll find anything that compares to it in Sydney.

The chefs tasting menu was simply sensational. Every dish was flavourful and rich. The journey at Kindred started from the beautiful house made sourdough bread. The carrot triangoli was an explosion of flavour and possibly my favourite dish of the night. We opted for the pork ragu and it did not disappoint. Left feeling content and satisfied. Cocktails menu not extensive, probably better to order wine.

An excellent and affordable tasting menu with some unique and delicious foods! Good wine as well and great service. You're first greeted by a warm and quaint ambience before being seated in a low-lit, mellow dining area. Notable highlights include the sourdough bread, tagliatelle pasta, salmon, tri pasta and dessert. Wasn't the biggest fan of the salad or beetroot dish, found the smoked trout abit salty as well. But overall would go again to eat all the other dishes 🥰 I can understand why everyone raves about the tri pasta. I'm still thinking about it. Also their servings are GENEROUS! You will definitely be stuffed in the end.

chef’s tasting menu was delicious and great value for money ! (however, the pork casarecce was a little bit too salty for my taste and the tiramisu sponge was slightly oversoaked). the gin cocktails were lovely too.

Attended on Wednesday night and had the Chefs Tasting Menu. Quiet old aesthetic building and interior. No outlandish advertising just careful design. Beautiful interior, seating over two levels. It is a restaurant within a house, so the tables are fitted where they can, it can feel a little squish if people stand in walkways. Food was divine, recommended a bottle of wine by the staff which complimented perfectly (the dishes vary so it was a good all rounder).

Great Italian food. Cosy vibe. Friendly service although a bit rushed Fresh Al Dente pastas with great flavours made on premises. Superb sourdough. The tasting menu is fantastic value - I’ve tried both the meat $65 and vegetarian versions $60 and both are delicious. Highlight was carrot triangle. Wines and Desserts delicious. Bookings are for 2 hours only so the dishes do come out quickly and it does feel a little rushed. We noted on the booking and also in person that it was my friends birthday and they said they would provide candles but they never did.

Absolutely amazing! Kindred is a must visit restaurant, we loved every dish. The pasta was perfect and we were shocked at the super big slabs of sourdough, they were incredible. Everyone was super friendly and we had a great time. We'll definitely return the next time we're in Sydney :D

Absolutely loved everything about my visit at Kindred. The food was specular the service was fantastic (shout out to the older gentleman who was very helpful and lovely) and the atmosphere was vibrant, yet classy. If it’s your first visit, I recommend you start with the tasting menu as it provides a fantastic opportunity to try a bit of everything.

KINDRED Restaurant is an intimate venue with limited space, so a booking is essential. It gets VERY busy and you are given a 2 hour seating session. I was in a party of four. We had the: House-made sourdough bread x 2, cultured butter, Stracciatella, roasted baby beets, pickled radicchio, blood orange, hazelnut, sourdough chip, Jerusalem artichokes, mushroom, parmesan custard, sherry caramel, puffed buckwheat, Carrot Triangoli, goat’s cheese, pistachios, brown butter x 2, Hiramasa kingfish, smoked ajo blanco, salted zucchini, pickled tomato, dill x 2, Rigatoni, beef bolognese, rosemary, parmesan, Bucatini, guanciale, tomato, chilli, pecorino and last but not least the Roasted Eggplant, salsa rossa, greens, pine nut puree, fried capers, ricotta salata. I got full on eating the bread and entrées. I’d say the majority of the dishes are quite rich. The food is ready in a reasonable amount of time, considering we were there bang on 6:30, it really picked up from 7pm onward. We didn't have enough time in the 2 hours to have dessert, so we went elsewhere. I highly recommend the Sourdough with cultured butter, Hiramasa Kingfish, Carrot Triangoli, and Stracciatella. Pastas? I have only tried the rigatoni and bucatini, they are both really good! We had Lorenzo looking after our table and he was hard pressed to keep up with our requests as well as other guests. But he managed! I’m not sure about parking, we arrived by Uber.

Super cozy lil place nestled in a Redfern terrace. Dark candle lit vibes and a bustling atmosphere downstairs and a more quiet area upstairs. Food was good, pasta was delicious with the favourite being agnolotti which were tiny parcels filled with joy. Tiramisu was good, and semifreddo was nice and tart which made it a good balance to end the night on

Ordered the kingfish and the tagliatelle squid ink pasta. Really enjoyed the king fish. It was delicious. There was too much garlic in the tagliatelle. Overpowered the seafood. Overall all above average I would say and very reasonably priced.

6.2/10 1. Stracciatella - fresh and great balance of flavours 2. Artichokes & mushrooms - standout dish, awesome sauce! 3. Agnolotti, mushroom, truffle pecorino, fried sage 4. Ricotta cavatelli - perfectly al dente but both pastas lacked salt 5. Smoked trout dip & sourdough - quite overpowering taste, bread was only ok, would give this a miss next time. Overall satisfied, affordable and generous portions 😌

I’m in agreement that the food at Kindred is amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious! The carrot triangoli was all the rave and we did enjoy it very much too! The only thing we did not enjoy was the extremely long wait time for our mains. Our table of 6 was seated at 6pm and we ordered soon after. Our entree arrived not too long after, at 6:25pm, but then mains only arrived at 7:10pm and sides at 7:15pm.. everyone was starving by then. Thankfully the food was really good. Desserts also came fairly quickly. It took definitely more than the 2 hour seating time we were allocated, or rather that the booking system strictly emphasised… but the staff were accommodating and did not mention it at all. Had a lovely night overall :)

The place with some of the freshest tasting dishes! We had the chefs tasting menu and it did not disappoint at all! Every dish tasted great with the freshest ingredients and combined some really interesting flavours! The only thing I would have preferred is if the plates could have been separated between two people to make it easier. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

First visit here and we’re definitely coming back. The sourdough was excellent! We really liked the pasta that had wonderful texture and taste. Tiramisu is the best we have had in Sydney. Greg provided a wonderful service for us. Looking forward to visiting again !

This restaurant has quickly become one of my favorites as well. The rustic ambiance adds a charming touch to the dining experience, and the wide variety of delicious pastas they offer is truly impressive. The desserts are equally delightful and add a perfect finishing touch to the meal. Overall, it’s a true gem of a place that I highly recommend visiting.

Kindred seems to fly under the radar but we had a lovely lunch here. It's housed in a charming terrace, the wood panelling and fixtures creating a cosy, rustic vibe. Food was beautiful and flavoursome, no complaints at all. We started with the housemade sourdough, baked olives and carrot triangoli. Mains were the light gnocchi tossed in an umami-heavy creamy brown sauce laden with long strands of shredded pork and tender cavolo nero; and the roast lamb, a celebration of spring with grilled asparagus, pea puree and mint. The mango sorbet & passionfruit granita was the perfect palate cleanser. I was a bit worried our 1pm lunch would be a bit rushed since 2pm is closing time according to Google. However, it looks like the kitchen closes at 2pm, but the restaurant stays open as there were plenty of diners staying past 3.30pm. It was nice to have a leisurely lunch without watching the clock.

The best Italian authentic restaurant in Sydney. The food is delicious with high quality product. The service is so nice and attentive. Each time I come I am never disappointed and the menu is changing on a regular basis so you never get bored. The gnocchis Ragu were incredible.

This place is just amazing. It has so many yummy starters, pasta is insanely good, wine list is very long. We went for chef's selection menu for two, and I’m very happy with each item on it. Thank you guys !
