As non-Indian/Pakistani/Nepalese background customer, I always ask my friends with above backgrounds which places I should try for the good cuisines. This place is one of their recommendations to try if you live in this area. Biryani dishes and Palak Paneer (spinach and cottage cheese) curry are my all time favourites. My family loves their almond flavoured butter chicken and whole tandoori chicken. Pappadum is a hidden delicacy for your rice dishes. If you need a good curry, you should try this place.

We used to regularly get curry and naan from here, for good reason, it was yummy and value for money. However, I got takeaway from here last week after the recent price bump and found the rice was dripping in oil and not even full (price increased from $3.5 a serving to $5!), and the garlic naan was burnt and dry. It's a shame because I used to really like this place. But will no longer be ordering from here.

On a lazy Sunday evening, my wife and I decided to have dinner out.....again.so we drove to Rockdale and found an unassuming Pakistani Indian restaurant. The Ambience and Internal feel: Very clean, beautifully furnished, decorated in a cultural way with finesse. The Menu Book: I was not expecting much as most Indian restaurants have lost the authenticity of flavours and spices, but lo and behold the variety of food was vast. Usually, the menu book itself reflects much of the experience you are about to get. The menu books, one for food the other for beverage and dessert was very sophisticated in its binding, clean , no gravy stains. Well done. The Food Ordered: Half Tandoori Chicken/Allu Nann/Keema Nann/Lamb something, can't remember, Kulfi/ Rosomalli and Dragon fruit cocktail or mocktail. Tandoori was very tender and not dry at all. Very delicious. The lamb was exquisite, no smell, authenticity at its peak, amazing taste. The Nanns, filled with well Spiced fillings, and as per previous reviews I read, NOT BURNT at all. The mocktails had a dry ice twist that enhanced the experience. Well done. The Price : Compared to what we got, I have never said this, but they need to raise the prices, a bit.Ver affordable indeed. Overall, value for money. 10/10 , Food was delicious, Service great, TOILETS were clean. Crowd, mainly Singaporean and Malaysian. Upstairs function Bangladeshi, and Uber eats and Menulog orders galore. However, my small advice would be to change the commercial looking signboard which doesn't reflect the internal treasure. Thanks Himalaya. 😊

One of the best biryani in sydney and my go to. Tried chicken biryani and palak paneer for take away and very satisfied. Went there second time and try their goat biryani and daal makhni, also very satisfied. Here’s the photo from the second order and i really enjoy both experience.

Thats the roti they serve you. We eat indian food thinking we are eating something healthy and homely , and they give this uncooked roti . Its better to have a pizza at lest it will be cooked properly .

I hate to do this guys but every time I order from you I make a note to fill up the container. Seriously, it’s a veg dish and giving less than half full containers is scandalous. It’s happened numerous times but this is the first time I’m making a complaint after leaving notes for you time and again when placing an order. As a regular customer really frustrating. You should be refunding me half the cost. Also, lamb is advertised as “tender” and was tough, required a knife to cut. Popadoms have been stale in the past. Requested these fresh but they were not, some were actually uncooked! Food arrived cold. Not a good experience

I am regular customer however this time I was really disappointed about the service. I ordered chicken biryani was delivered with out raita ( mint sauce), I ticked the box for utensils not supplied. When I make phone call and feedback was provided to the manager, the manager’s response was we are busy. Very bad customer service, all the restaurants get busy on Friday evening however this is the first restaurant whose response was very bad.

Came in for a post gym feed, got the butter chicken, garlic naan and rice. Food hit the table before I could go to the toilet and was probably the most heavenly butter chicken I've ever tasted. Garlic naan was seasoned perfectly with a touch of coriander, and everything came together really well. Definitely coming back here again!

I came this place several times, they're never think to update the upstairs toilet and interior. However the front entrance gate has broken might be last couple of years, even it doesn't have a indicator push or pull. The management should think to update better customer eveperience. Only positive food is still taste good.

I recently dined at this establishment and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. I must admit that I am disappointed with the quality of service and the food. Firstly, the Coca-Cola that was served to me in a glass was quite disappointing. The glass was filled mostly with ice cubes, leaving very little space for the actual drink. As the ice melted, the drink was diluted to the point where it tasted like water. This was definitely not the refreshing beverage I had hoped for. Secondly, I ordered the butter chicken meal, and I must say that it was far from what I expected. The dish was overly sweet, which was quite unexpected for a savory dish like butter chicken. The excessive sweetness overshadowed the rich and savory flavors that should have been the highlight of the meal. I had higher expectations for my dining experience, and unfortunately, both the beverage and the main course fell short. I hope that the restaurant takes this feedback constructively and works towards improving the quality of their offerings and serv

Rockdale has a lot of hidden gems and Himalayan is a great choice that opens late. Price is reasonable but everything is made fresh and tasty. I got the goat biryani , a butter chicken , roti and naan and unfortunately I have no good photos of it since we blew through all of it too quickly 😂 Food 9/10 Cost 7/10 Service 8/10

Been going here since years. Used to love the biryani but they started making it too spicy even if asked for mild. Still love the flavour but the spiciness ruined it for us. But still love their other foods though. Their Achari goat and naan is to die for😋 I could eat it everyday and not get tired of it. If you are craving for authentic Indian restaurant around St George area, you must visit this place. Service is good too.

Ordered mild Butter Mutter Paneer for my son and received at least medium spice. Called and they would rather argue than acknowledge any error. Have ordered mild in the past and what I received tonight was definitely not mild by any stretch. Won't be ordering again. Food is fine as long as they get the order right...

The food is always great. We have been to this gem of a restaurant many times. When we bring friends they have all been impressed. We all think the meals and drinks are very reasonably priced. If you're looking for really good food representing the Sub Continent you don't need to look further than this restaurant. Highly recommend

I ordered on the call for Himalayan tandoori platter. I have taking it from Himalaya Granville but I thought of trying it as well. The presentatioj for the takeaway was so bad. Like they gave in a box mixing everything up together. I enjoyed nothing. The meat piecees were very small. There was lamb in it and it was not in the menu. Even that was not cooked. The food was not tasty at all. They gave me this little mint sauce with $30 platter. Like wth. You spend $30 and you get such a bad experience. Plz it's my request to take from Granville because there presentation is really good and it's worth spending money.

Good food. Good service. Biryani should be improved more tastewise.

Wish I can give 0 stars unfortunately. My family and I went to the iftaari buffet. The food was below average. It seems like they gave us old food and a lot of people wasted the food on their plates. Food needs to improve with good quality and good intentions. Management failed. The staff should of managed the Queue by putting 2 stands on either side of the buffet instead of 1 long queue. The staff should notice that there is a long queue and that there are so many people wanting to open their fast. Restaurant was stinky and smelly. Atmosphere wasn’t that good. 0/0 😡

Great portions, delicious food with one of the best butter chickens I have had. Absolutely will be back again!

I’ve only ever eaten here for early dinner when it’s not busy so I can’t comment on the atmosphere, but it’s nice and quiet inside even though it’s on the main road. Lovely food, quite oily but overall great. The naan and rice are amazing. Staff are a bit dismissive but the food makes up for it.
