Very friendly welcome, and the room was waiting for us with beautiful, soft, classical music playing and was lovely and cool. Very well appointed with a cupboard containing tv, audio, kitchenette with sink and microwave, tea, coffee etc, fridge, bin, ironing board, behind various doors. The bed was very firm and the air con seemed to have some sort of schedule that I could not work out how to change. It was on cool when we arrived then changed itself to heat after a few hours. It would not give me the option of cool at all, only heat or fan, so we left it on fan and slept with the windows open for a breeze. Some time in the early hours of the morning it changed back to cool and I woke up cold and had to close the windows and adjust the temperature. Not sure what that was all about but it wasn't worth me waking anyone up to worry about. We stayed here to see Bruno Mars at Allianz Stadium and found the walk there and back went quickly and wasn't too difficult even at night. Overall a good experience.

Could not fault this beautiful hotel. Every detail was considered and Sean was very welcoming and personable. There's a great variety of cafes close by and its a short walk to St Vincents if you are coming to the city for medical reasons as we were. We'll definitely return.

I just stayed here for one night. Overall the location is nice and the rooms are well kept and spacious. I had a slight delay with checkin but that was because I booked through a third-party and not direct. The manager Sean is friendly and helpful. I took the train from the airport and it took me about 5-7 minutes to walk from the Kings Cross station to the hotel If you are looking for a boutique style place to stay near the city center, this is a good option.

The Medusa is a boutique hotel with a lot of charm, well located within the city. I got a micro room, which has a double bed. As the micro label suggests, you're not doing yoga in this room, but the cabinetry is arranged so that you have everything you need. There's a mini fridge, a sink, a tea kettle, a French press for coffee, and mini bar goodies if you want them. It's at a nice height to make this a usable space. There's another cabinet with an ironing board and iron, and a hair dryer. The bathroom has a nice sized shower and lots of natural light. The bed was super comfy and the pillows are very luxurious. The micro room is small, but I'd happily book it again. There's a sitting room at the hotel as well as an outdoor patio if you want to get out of your room. The hotel has a nice feel to it and I'm glad I got to stay there my first night in Sydney.

Charming (in the best sense), wonderfully comfortable, and intelligently designed. And hip to boot (in the best sense). I've never felt more welcome in a hotel, nor been treated with such attentive courtesy. Sincere thanks to Sean and the team for their exceptionally warm hospitality and thoughtfulness. Seriously, Google no further. Just stay here.

We absolutely loved the Medusa! The location is second to none, and we had such a warm welcome after a long flight. Great room with thoughtful touches and so reasonably priced. Would stay again in a heartbeat - thank you so much!

What a gem this place is! Quirky, very comfortable and centrally located. Sean, the manager, was super helpful and welcoming. Had a drink at the pub across the road followed by an early dinner at the Thai restaurant 2 minutes walk away. Then an easy 20 minute walk to Allianz Stadium. Beats dealing with traffic! Highly recommend staying here.

Excellent. Room was good size. Bathroom was small, but the shower was hot and powerful so that's the important but right? Here for work, many breakfast and dinner options very close by. Will definitely be back.

Great place to stay. Rooms are spotlessly clean, the staff are great and the location is perfect for exploring Darlo. Heaps of happening bars and restaurants within a stone throw. My go to place when staying in Sydney.

Got the worst and nightmarish experience to have my confirmed booking of my hotel room nights cancelled by Medusa Hotel on my arrival date. And I was due to check-in by 10pm. Arrived at 9pm with my luggage and all, only to find out via email that the property could not accommodate me on the same day I am due to arrive. Ended up having to search for hotel stay at the 11th hour, at a rate that was double the rate that I would have paid at Medusa. So much for the raving reviews that I saw online. This was an absolute nightmare for me.

Wow. What can I say? I travelled with my mom to Australia, her birth country, after 46 years of her not being here and we found this sweet little boutique hotel, and it was the most accommodating, professional, well-maintained, relaxing hotel. The hosts were just absolutely wonderful, kind, and inquired if we’d need to change rooms at any point for mobility purposes. The rooms were tidy, with beautiful windows outlooking the seated courtyard. It’s in a wonderful area close to many coffee shops and a bus stop right in front. I would recommend anyone to have a stay at this hotel ❀️❀️ thank you again!!!! From Vancouver, Canada.

What made this hotel a memory we won't forget is Sean, the owner of the hotel and what he did for us. Sean went to extra steps to assure that we arrived and had what we needed by calling us twice before check-in. I met Sean the next day, and he took the time to share with us his inspiring personal story. Due to flight changes and some personal difficulties, on our check out day, Sean made some special arrangements for us in the hotel so that we could rest with a level of comfort that we didn't expect. Sean, if you read this, god bless you and we will always remember your kindness.

We had a perfect stay at Medusa. It is located in a very nice area with lots of cafes and restaurants. The owners are so nice and friendly. In the first night we had a complaint about our room neighbours, Jesse immediately offered us a new room in the upper floor, which was much better. Thanks again for this great service, well done Medusa!

Exceptional stay! The hotel is beautifully designed, perfectly located within walking distance of most of Sydney and super comfortable and warm. The person that worked the night I stayed was super accommodating, welcoming and friendly, where nothing was an issue. Couldn't recommend enough!

Checking in was one of the most touching experiences of my year. I was made to feel like a guest of honour, like my best friends had been waiting for me all afternoon to arrive. It made me feel wonderful at a time I was struggling!!!! Will never forget my experience in this hotel!

We stayed a few nights in the Medusa hotel - the owners and the service was lovely. For me it was not 100% clean - and we saw 2 cockroaches in our bedroom. Anyways the bed was good we had a good sleep. A water protection would have been nice in the bathroom because it was all wet after the shower.

This hotel is nicely located a short walk from all the major galleries and museums as well as the night time activity on Oxford. Gay centric. The room is spacious, clean and well equipped. Wonderful big shower. Lovely court yard to sit and have morning coffee or read a book. I took 1 star off because there were a couple of times when I needed something but could not get hold of owners/managers. I’ll definitely stay here the next time I’m in town.

Charming hotel and amazing service especially by our host Jesse who went over and above to make sure we had a memorable stay for a special occasion! Thank you!

Congrats to the huns on a chic renovation! This hotel is the definition of a vibe. From the color contrast interior to the linen sheets and Aesop products + fresh roses = LUSH. The location is amazing with a character pub across the road inclusive of a boutique bottle shop and many cute cafes surrounding. Most of all Jess and Sean are the best hosts ever and truly made our stay unforgettable. We can't wait return!!

We had a fantastic time staying at the Medusa Hotel over Easter. The staff are so friendly, and the hotel itself is in a great location, just a short walk to Oxford St and close to plenty of cafes and restaurants. Will definitely be coming back!

Management are super lovely, funny and very helpful. And the rooms are small but cute, the room smelt so nice when we went in. The manager let us check out a lil bit later too. Overall a really good experience and the customer service for phenomenal.

Great place to stay, friendly staff and close to restaurants

Our host, Jesse was friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in early. Very comfortable bed in stylish, clean and quiet room (we stayed in the Grand) with nice touches such as classical music playing in our room (can be turned off), lights dimmed and air con already on (it was a hot day). The hotel is a beautifully appointed Victorian terrace, so 2nd storey rooms necessitate climbing stairs which we were advised about on booking and we were fine with that. Loved our stay!
