Was not impressed. Really only ended up there because it was the only place in downtown with bar seating available on a Saturday night (we literally tried every other bar in downtown first, they were all packed, and now I see why this place was not full). Food was tolerable. The butternut squash and sage risotto tasted fine, but the butternut squash was undercooked and hard. The cocktails were not great. The whole atmosphere just feels very “instagramable”, like they’re trying too hard. The owners never should have rebranded Brickwall. Why change an Asbury staple that everyone loved? If you’re going to ruin a classic, at least make it good.

I've heard good things about this place. I tried this place last December. Very nice place. You can hold big groups here. U ordered the grilled chicken panini sandwich ( very good 😋 ). I also had a hot chocolate ( very good 😋 ). The service was very good, nice people. I recommend this place, very good food 👍👍👍👍

I said I would come back for the food so here is my review. Got recommended to come for the porkchop milanese. It was the best thing we had by far. The heirloom tomato salad was delicious. The chicken pot pie was runny but still had good flavor. Would I order again? Maybe but there were other things that looked good on the menu. The smores ice cream sandwiches were lovely. Only negative was I would pass on the cheese curd nachos though. Drinks were delicious. Glad I came.

Really cute spot for brunch or cocktails. The food is about as good as it gets outside of the city and really well plated if you’re looking for something picturesque. The bartender didn’t skimp in the cocktails (for 4 stars for that alone tbh). The staff were all friendly and accommodating. I would absolutely recommend and return again

We had a lovely family lunch here after spending some time on the boardwalk. It’s beautifully decorated and so clean. The bar is so pleasing to the eye like from a movie. The service was friendly. They have a great menu with twists on some classics, like tuna salad, wings, and mac and cheese. They also have a great cocktail list. Highly recommend it. #karmelknockingaround

As we entered the restaurant for brunch, there was a live band setting up on the left and the place was about 70% full. We had made a reservation so were seated quite promptly. But while waiting, I was thoroughly impressed by their living plant wall in front of the host station. Our waiter took a very long time to get to us and when they finally got us our coffees, they informed us that they didn't have anything but whole milk left or the nut-based milks. The coffees nor the table set up had spoons and our waiter disappeared for a very long time so we had to stir the coffee with forks. After ordering, our food came out quite quickly, nothing above par, nothing below. But service, again, disappeared, no additional water, coffee, etc... Overall, not a disagreeable experience, but unfortunately the lack of service was what stuck out from this meal. On the plus side, the ambience was really great, they did a great job decorating.

I had a lovely date night dinner at Homesick last night, and our server, Paige, was an absolute gem. Her drink and food recommendations were spot-on (the Tutu drink and Grit Cakes were top shelf).

First time dining here and we are already coming back later this week. The overall atmosphere was great, the seats comfortable and the service with Julia was great. The food was just amazing from their mac and cheese, their main dishes and dessert! They even provided our little girl with this wonderful scoop of sprinkle ice cream! Can’t wait to enjoy our next visit

We went here on Memorial Day weekend, so we understood that they were busy. What we didn’t appreciate was the service. The food came out all at the same time— apps, meals, and desserts. The drinks came out after the food. We never got water. We paid $13 for a cheese plate with two slices of cheese and a “block” of dark chocolate. 100% not worth it. Our server told us he was the only server there that day and that’s why he never checked on us, but we saw another server soon after that. I want to give the benefit of the doubt but I’m not sure I want to spend the money to possibly be disappointed again.

Good service, fun and welcoming atmosphere, and delicious food. The menu is small, but we were able to find a few great options. It’s a scratch kitchen, therefore they request you place all food items together. The pistachio mojito is an absolute must. I had the soup of the week, chicken and corn chowder. Excellent. We shared the wings, with a bbq sauce of the week. These were good. My main was the spring pesto. Absolutely amazing. The pasta was not advertised this way on the menu, but it is indeed freshly made. Carefully thought out pairings for this dish included asparagus, tomato, pistachio, and potato. Executed well. Will be back soon!

Amazing spot in Asbury. We had lunch but we're going back for dinner because the food was soooo good. They have a big menu with plenty of different options for everyone....I highly recommend this spot

This is the best new restaurant in Asbury! Three of us had an amazing dinner and drinks here. Our server Alexa was attentive and made great suggestions. The cocktails were delicious and looked beautiful! Our starters were tasty and the chicken was the BEST chicken dish I’ve EVER had, really! YOU must try Homesick!

Excellent from every perspective. We had the dressed greens salad (amazing dressing) and ratatouille to start. Both perfect. The crispy flounder is light and fresh - like it barely touched the fryer but still crispy! The vegan pesto pasta was delicious. We capped things off with the banana bread pudding- another 10. Vincent took great care of us. We’ll be back often!

Homesick is a nice place for Brunch. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere. The eggs Benedict and blueberry pancakes were very good. The Brunch pie was ok, the gravy was a little too heavy for my taste. The service was very good.

We don’t get out to Asbury nearly as much as we’d like, but when we do, we come to Homesick. Tonight was a very melancholy birthday as it’s the first one since 3 surgeries and losing my father to cancer. Paige (our very first waitress back in July 2021!) and the team made it one of the most perfect nights. Lots of tears, lots of good food and a very very good time. As a born and raised New Yorker who spent many years waitressing in Manhattan, I can say with full confidence that this restaurant is exceptionally diligent with detail in ambiance, food and service. It’s impossible to walk out disappointed.

Grabbed a late dinner here this past Friday, were seated immediately without a reservation which was nice. The atmosphere was lovely, dim but not dark, and live music that allowed you to still have a conversation. The drinks were great and creative. (I got their current Pride cocktail special, pictured, which was delicious.) But oh my gosh the food was just incredible. I’m telling you now, order the Disco Snachos app, it was phenomenal! For dinner I ordered the pierogis w/ kielbasa, and they were practically as good as my polish gram’s recipe, quite the feat. My friends also enjoyed their scallops and burger respectively. Our server was lovely and attentive and gave great menu recommendations, as well as recs for where to go after we’d finished up our meal. Just an all around wonderful experience, hope to be back!

In general, it was a great experience. Very good atmosphere, with a modern vibe, and service. Some of our dishes were excellent, such as the macaroni au gratin and the summer pesto pasta. The duck quesadilla would need a little more flavor. I’ll definitely come back.

I wanted to like it here. I really did. They did a beautiful job flipping it from Brickwall to the pretty white decor on the inside. The outside chairs are horrible. They are literally painful to sit on. The food was ok at best. The tomato, blue cheese, and cornbread salad was amazing. Everything was flavorless. Turkish eggs are not good. And the worst was my bloody mary. I think they dropped the pepper grinder in the glass. Yuck. I couldn't stomach it. See pic. Our server was extremely nice so no complaints there.

This place is a must!! The ambience was amazing. The food and the drinks were also very outstanding, but the drinks are probably some of the best I’ve had in New Jersey!!

What a relaxing chic experience. From the piano waiting area to the electric glow of the bar's custom lighting to the comfortable seating, homesick delivers. We did brunch with the butter board, cheese, omelette and fries (for the kids). Waitress had that special aire of caring about her hard to find . Nice brunch. Will be back for dinner. Worth a try.

I have never had a bad experience but I feel torn because the food is so hit or miss. Quality, consistency, presentation, are all key to a restaurant. The food plating looks very amateur at times. Although conceptually the dishes should be amazing, the execution misses more than is acceptable. I have to say the pricing is very fair for happy hour. Bone marrow is delicious and thankfully this place keeps it on the menu for evening happy hour and dinner. The place looks very clean and organized. The staff is always SO great. They are all very friendly and accommodating. I think the kitchen needs an actual chef to be more present. Outdoor seating, happy hour specials, friendly staff, and generally decent food on a busy restaurant strip to allow for a little food and beverage crawl in a hip area makes this a convenient choice. Parking can be a bit annoying during peak hours and days.

Our server, Sara was exceptional attentive, and had great energy. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun, warm and comfortable. The hostess met us with a warm smile, and was very professional. I recommend homesick for your next dining experience.

Homesick has ambiance, great food, and a wonderful selection of cocktails and draft brews. The menu has a diverse selection with a lot of comfort food. When we were there the staff was very attentive and the service was great. The food was excellent. The heirloom tomato appetizer was fresh and delicious as was the macaroni au gratin. We had the flounder chow-chow, the seared scallops and the pierogi entrees. All the food was prepared perfectly and presented well. They have bar seating as well as table service. We were there on a Friday evening and they had live music. The band was quite good. Parking can be challenging in Asbury park

Second visit. First time shared numerous small plates. Second time each had a small plate and an entree. Really enjoyed both. Excellent cocktails too.

Homesick is an adorable place to meet up with friends and family in Asbury Park. The menu is original and pretty well rounded, meaning it offers a nice variety. I have eaten there a few times and have tried a few things on the menu. I enjoyed most everything I ordered, but some things missed the mark by a tad. The service has been good, people friendly and accommodating. I’ll continue to go.

Chic ambiance and fancy food. Bland taste; very fun ambience. Youthful staff in this stylish place makes vibes for upscale brunch. Sunday Jazz is great and enhances the mood. Fun light fixtures! Some drinks and menu items reasonably priced!

Great ambience but terrible service. They totally missed preparing my dinner and didn’t let us have a good dine-in experience. Terribly disappointed ☹️with food but could be worth a visit for drinks ONLY.

I had the prime rib and it was tough and had no taste. The baked potato had scoop of butter, not what I expected. My wife had the halibut which was dried out and the risotto was hard . No salt or pepper on the tables and nobody ask if u wanted any .Salad was good . Cocktail was weak and the wine selection was below average . Did not bother with desert. Place was nice and staff was friendly.

I really enjoyed my meal here. I came on a weekday night and service was very good. It is aesthetically pleasing both inside and outside. The bar is beautiful and very big! We tried the shrimp ceviche app which I would pass on, it did not have much flavor. The drinks are really pretty but expensive. I enjoyed my pierogis and kielbasa. We were told it's the same owners as Porta. They also have a cute bar next door called "Love Sick" that I want to try.

We dined here for the first time last night and couldn't have been happier with the experience. Our server (Olivia I think?) was fantastic, the food delish - clean plates all around. Bone marrow app and scallops main were standouts. Plus the atmosphere and decor - really, really nice. So many restaurants come and go in Asbury. I hope this one is around for a long time to come.

The food and drinks are absolutely incredible! The servers, staff and bartenders alike were so personable and acted more like friends than just employees. Without a doubt going back again, specifically big shout out to the bartenders (so sorry forgot their names) for their recommendations, small talk and overall hospitality!

Homesick delivers on service, food and atmosphere. Featuring simple, comforting dishes you remember like homemade Pop Tarts, delicious grilled cheese and tomato soup it definitely lives up to it's name, leaving you homesick for these classics. Pair the great food with a great drink menu, you can't wait to come back.

Best meal we've had in a while. Waiter was super friendly, fast, and attentive, and even comped us two drinks. Vegan pesto is amazing and the hard cold brew is phenomenal. Definitely coming back here.

Came in for a drink and feel out the new space. Drinks we're not good. Beer menu was lack luster. Food menu had little veggie options. I'm so disappointed this is what became of Brick Wall.

Now that I’ve been to Homesick twice, I can give this a fair score of 5 Stars. First, service was great. We met the manager, Dana, who was so welcoming and provided awesome menu recommendations. The bartender Emily was so friendly too, she was great. The burger and mac & cheese are by far my favorites on the menu. However, I have tried two different salad options and thought they were delicious too if you’re looking for a little salad before your main course or trying to eat a lighter meal. For drinks, they have 20+ beers on tap but feel like it’s more of a cocktail/wine spot in terms of drinks. Love the bar décor and vibe if you wanted to stop for just drinks and/or apps vs. eating a full meal. Definitely recommend – great vibe, drinks, service/staff and food.

I had my birthday brunch here at 12:30 on a Sunday. I booked in advance thinking I had 17 people. It ended up being 22 and they did their best & helped accommodate us even with a full house! This review strictly goes out to our server, Grace. She handled all 22 of us with such [grace] - never left us waiting. Kept our drinks full and food was out in a timely manner. A smile never left her face even amongst the chaos. She complimented me multiple times, which made me feel so amazing. Best server EVER! Thank you for such an amazing experience GRACE & Homesick!

This was a great new place that opened 3 months ago. Staff were super friendly and attentive which made the experience that much better. The pork chop was large and tender! Swordfish fresh and delicious. The sauce used on the dishes really brought each to the next level.
