A great place to visit and see lots of different species of animals. The zoo is large and you will need to arrive early in the morning if you want to see everything. We came at 11 and stayed until closing time missing only two exhibits. Tickets do need to be reserved in advance and Wednesday is free with limited admission. We paid $18 each for upgraded general admission on Wednesday and were able to see the available attractions (Congo Forest, Butterfly Garden, Monorail, etc.) in addition to exhibits. We were able to get inside without any waiting and it was not crowded.

So generally the Bronx Zoo is fun for someone who enjoys seeing, reading, and learning about animals. Brought my 4 year old nephew to the Bronx Zoo because he loves animals. Expect to spend about 5 hours walking to get around the whole park or more if you take in the attractions. On hot summer days, entering the buildings are great, because they provide air conditioning. There cafe/restaurants are also open, so you can buy food and beverages. I purchased the tickets online and took advantage of the pay-as-you-wish Wednesday option. Tickets were then emailed to me with the scan code. So you know Wednesday tickets can only be purchase on the Monday after 5pm for that week. All tickets are timed and non-refundable. As I was bringing my nephew I took advantage of the upgraded attraction admission bundle. So instead of paying $6 per person for each attraction, you pay $18 per person and get unlimited access to every attraction. And I mean every attraction from the Gorilla Congo, Children's Zoo, Bug Carousel, Butterfly Garden, Asia Monorail, etc. Plus, you have access to enter the attractions multiple times. Definitely a well worthwhile purchase for the best experience to offer not only the child, but yourself as well.

The Bronx Zoo is awesome! So many areas to visit. Wear comfortable shoes because it can be alot of walking! The dinosaur safari was great, the gorillas are a must see! The monorail which is seasonal is now opened & is a nice ride around Asia. Not only do you get to see amazing animals, but you get a nice break from a lot of walking! There's also a shuttle you can catch if you don't want to walk from 1 end of the zoo to the next, but while walking there are lots of things to see. You can get lunch, ice cream & snacks there, but you can take your own food & water with you too. Buy tickets online before going. I've gone multiple times. During the week is less hectic than a weekend or even a holiday weekday. Ample parking but cost $20. If you have an annual pass you get a discount. The annual pass can get 3 adults & 4 kids in for free, so of you think you'd visit often, maybe it's worth getting.

What a wonderful zoo! I haven’t been here in decades and they’ve added a ton of new habitats. It took us almost 6 hours and we still didn’t get to every display! We ate at one of the zoo eateries and it was pretty typical zoo food, a frozen burger and fries. Nothing to write home about but not bad. I found the chimp and gorilla cages the most fascinating. They were playing and running from the silver backs. We loved every second of our visit.

We took the subway in and after a short walk from the station, we got there as soon as they opened. There was literally nobody there except staff! The grounds were pretty to see, especially in the winter season. Iced over ponds, seeing your breath and snow flurries made our day. Having been to many zoos, this zoo is near the top. All of the animals seemed so eager to see us human visitors. I liked the tropical spots, for amphibians and also some birds, probably because they were heated! Food is somewhat expensive, it’s a zoo so don’t expect anything less. Staff was friendly, great place for your kids! The zoo has a great website that tells you admission, has maps and other information helpful to plan your trip. bronxzoo.com

Fun zoo experience. We parked in lot B and walked in. It was a nice tree covered path once inside which made the temperature a bit cooler than in the parking lot. I found the zoo to be a mix of older and newer buildings and exhibits. It is a big zoo and has some interesting architecture and architectural history. My kids had fun which is most important. We’ll consider the membership next year because it was more than $150 for the family without any food or souvenirs. Fortunately we packed a few sandwiches and the kids don’t have the stamina for an all day journey anyway so the couple times we have been have each been unique unlike some other famous zoos which you see everything in a day.

We visited years back but this time to see holiday lights and man what they have made is amazing! Whole zoo lighted up with bright animals! It’s very creative! Took us 2 hours to visit everything. There was train ride but we didn’t do it.

Love this zoo. It's a great place to enjoy the animals and nature walk. We spent about 4 hours and still didn't get through the entire zoo. All the staff is friendly. There are plenty of restrooms and food stands throughout. The children's area is great for the little ones to feed and pet a few animals. Overall an enjoyable experience.

It was amazing experience. The habitat exhibits like the Congo Gorilla Forest and etc. offer astounding experiences and should not be missed. You can easily spend an entire day here. Great place to bring kids so they can explore a variety of different animal exhibitions and the wildlife! Highly recommend this place weather your a local or visiting from out of state, with or with out kids.

I am very sorry to say this, but I cannot recommend the Bronx Zoo in winter time. You barely see any wild animals. They are either somewhere inside where you cannot go. Or the cage is closed for some reason, with a sign thanking me for my understanding. And even some walkways are closed, I guess because of the winter lights event. But you see a lot of squirrels and peacocks, if you are into this. But then again, about 35 Dollars entry fee for an adult is a lot of money for a few animals you mainly see in any public park around NYC. At least the squirrels. Also, the park area is not very beautiful. And yes, it's winter. But in some zoos around the world, they change the plants in winter to keep the grounds beautiful. And there is only one resting place open. With a restaurant that has limited options. However, a zoo has to care for the animals all year round. So I do not mind supporting this with my entrance fee. But if you are a visitor, expecting lots of animals, winter time literally is not the time to go.

This is one of the best zoos I’ve ever experienced! The variety of animals was impressive and the way they were organized was conducive to learning about various habitats. The enclosures seemed spacious for the most part and included live plants, areas to hide, and even enrichment opportunities. Displays include information about conservation efforts and how we can help protect endangered species. The staff were inviting and knowledgeable. We didn’t even cover the whole park in a day; I can’t wait to come back! The animals are incredible!

The Christmas lights display was so beautiful and fun. They had all kinds of things going on. The tree displays were amazing, sorry for lack of pictures of those. It's great for the family or a date even. It's getting cold so bundle up. They have hot chocolate and snacks for sale. Heard they were serving alcohol as well for those who partake. If you haven't done it I would say you have to go. Better than going downtown with those giant crowds and no room to just enjoy yourself. Plenty of staff on hand to help you find your way and guide you. Bronx zoo staff is always amazing. They play Christmas music throughout the whole park from the old classics to even some modern ones. You are really missing out if you haven't gone. Have fun, thank me later.

Great zoo and really nice staff! We go to this zoo at least once a year and it has so many amazing animals. You must see the bears and the reptiles! We always have to see the birds of prey and the snow leopard too. There are more than enough animals to spend a few days seeing it all or just go for the day and see your favorites. I do wish they had some kind of interactive map where you could select the exhibits you really want to see and it would give you a route on the map that goes by them. We sometimes get a little lost going in circles. Overall, I highly recommend this place for families or a date!

Had a great time here with my boys! We came with a friend and there was so much to see we returned again the next day! The staff were friendly and accommodating to us. Bathrooms are plenty which is so important when traveling with children. We went late in the season so only one food place is open but it's cafeteria style so grab what you want and pay at the front, efficient! Would definitely return for another visit at some point

Really good zoo. Went on a Wednesday, so admission was free. But you have to pay to see some parts and activities of the zoo. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see all the animals as it was very cold and they were taking shelter. Some displays were closed also. And it was out of peak season times. A lot of the outlets and shops around the zoo weren't open, but the main ones were. The highlight for me would definitely have to be the gorillas. It was amazing to get up and close to such wonderful, beautiful, and sadly endangered animals.

My mother has been taking my siblings and I to the Bronx Zoo for years, and now I take my own children. It's always a great trip. I recommend memberships to everyone. You save so much money over the year. Booking the day of your trip is a must because you can show up and there's no room to enter the zoo. When we arrived on Saturday morning, they opened the gates and already had the sign that the zoo was at capacity for the day. The food is kind pricey as always but pretty good. You get a discount with membership. The animals are the best part. Their enclosures are built with their comfort in mind. There's so much to see and so many exhibits that you can keep coming back to see what you missed, plus it's a great workout with the size of the zoo. No more paper maps since everything can now be viewed on your phone. Overall, I'm happy with the trip and will be going back at least one more time before the end of this year.

This is such a fun zoo! We were able to see almost everything however I do wish we had 2 days to really enjoy the entire zoo. The layout is great, plenty of room to maneuver strollers or wagons, restrooms were very clean. The animals were all so fun to observe and for the first time ever I enjoyed a reptile exhibit. Parking is $20 so not bad at all, the monorail is included in your ticket however we did have to pay $5/person to feed the birds. It was well worth it based on our experience. AAA does offer discount tickets if you are a member and all tickets (AAA or not) must be purchased in advance.

Bronx zoo was great to visit and we visited at night during Christmas for the light show. The lights did not disappoint, it was a surprising experience. Lots of animals made of lights all over the zoo. For sure is worth visiting, specially for the Lightshow. Would recommend visiting at any time.

What a beautiful Zoo. It's so clean, the animals are in good condition. The zoo is pretty big, so we have a long day to spend there. It's super interesting. My only bad comment is.. the deli is good but super expensive. Like 40$ usd for lunch for 2 adults. It's expensive when you have kids. I just hope that all this money is back for the animals. But I suppose. Have a nice visit :) We went on the lower season but I think it's the best time to go because there are not many people, no wait, we can take our time and enjoy the animals. Also there are light nights and it's super beautiful too

I went their with my family. Kids are 5 and 7 years old. We stayed their for approx 5 hours, kids really loved the place as they saw the animals up close. Attention was paid to little details which is why I guess the animals were quiet active. Monorail was also an interesting experience. I guess the Downside was limited eating options and we didn't find a hippo.

I had my first job at the Bronx zoo at 14. My Aunt works for the Zoo for Twenty plus years. This place has many childhood and adult memories so nostalgic. This place has definitely grown over the years always changing and getting better with the exhibitions and the animals. I really enjoy going with my family.

What an experience!! I was so impressed by their efforts towards conservation and keeping the quality of everything from their food to the unbelievable exhibits at an unbelievable standard. I also loved spotting some celebrities from the show. It's almost too much to see in one day but that is in no way a complaint. So unbelievably kid friendly and prices are very reasonable.

One of the best if not the best zoos in the U.S. We visited New York and were surprised and amazed at the cleanliness, creative setting and how well kept the animals were. The landscape views were stunning. The animals were wonderful to see and with so many varieties. I highly recommend anyone to spend a day at this American icon and get in early and stay late!

My family loves this zoo. This was our first time there since the pandemic and we had a great time. We went on a Sunday and it wasn't crowded at all. You may want to check ahead, I'm glad I did because we had to buy tickets ahead of time, they then gave us a window (12-1pm) arrival time to prevent overcrowding.

Pro tip: Save close to $10 per person by buying vouchers from your local library. Just make sure to activate those vouchers by calling the number at least 24 hours before your visit. (I'll learn that the hard way) Pro tip 2: Bring comfy shoes and bottles for water. There is a lot of walking to do, which is great, but it can be taxing if you are not used to it. Pro tip 3: Plan your route, chances are you won't be able to visit everything in a single day so make sure you do a route that takes you to the animals you don't want to miss. Review: Awesome place to spend a spring day with the family, little ones love the visit. It is a huge place, so be ready to walk. The place is well maintained, and we were able to see most animals thanks to well designed areas. Some other zoos have areas where you never get to see the animals because they are too far or behind something. We are planning on making this a recurring trip every spring. (Summer may be too hot and packed)

A wonderful zoo with so many beautiful animals. This zoo is huge and there is a lot of walking around from animal to animal sometimes but it’s a gorgeous space to enjoy a brisk walk. All the animals are fabulous and there are so many species to see it is sure to delight all ages. The monorail is especially cool and the guides on them are wonderful. A really fantastic trip to take while you are in NYC.

Great experience. I went in November, and due to weather conditions, we couldn't see the elephants, giraffes, and a few other animals. But all the rest was 100% worth it. Wednesdays are $0.00- up to 6 tickets per person, but it doesn't include the attractions, so I recommend paying $17.95, and you'll have unlimited access to all the attractions; otherwise, you'll pay 7.00 per attraction. Have fun!

The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum, and Zoo A 140,000-gallon fish tank greets visitors at the Bermuda Aquarium, which also has a museum and a zoo, in the quaint Flatts Village on the North Shore. The aquarium has several large tanks housing 200 species of fish and coral reef found in the waters surrounding the island. It also has outdoor turtle and seal exhibits, which give visitors a chance to witness feedings (several times a day). The aquarium arranges whale-watching cruises aboard the RV Endurance in the spring to witness migrating humpback whales. The Natural History Museum has exhibits on the ecology and geology of Bermuda along with displays on the wildlife from the archipelago. It features several interactive and kid-friendly activities, a playground, and sandbox. The zoo houses 300 reptiles, birds, and mammals from islands around the world, in settings mimicking their natural habitat. In the Madagascar section, expect to find some curious lemurs sitting or jumping on boulders. You'll also find areas dedicated to the animal life from the Galapagos islands, flocks of flamingos, and tortoises.

I went to Bronx zoo to see the holiday lights. It’s really amazing lantern decorations. 35/adults and if you park in their parking lot it’s extra 17 dollars, I think parking fee is really high. But it was great to see all the lanterns trails . Specially Asian , African ,ocean and ice . Make sure go there at least for 4 hours . And be ready for a long walk . Don’t expect to see the real animals, it’s just holiday lights and it’s good to buy the tickets online.

My family and I visited the Bronx Zoo on December 31st, 2021 for the holiday lighting. This was great. We routed large marshmallows to make smores, took photos, saw stilt walkers, ice carving sculpture, story telling. There's so much more, this was just a few to mention. We enjoyed it all.

I had very high hopes for this zoo but it wasn't all it was cracked up to be especially going during the "off-season" there were many exhibits closed, including the giant tortoise which was the main reason we went. Also the website recommended getting off at Pelham Parkway and as soon as you get off there's a sign for Bronx Zoo so we followed it and took us almost 2 miles going that way! I wish there was better signs because it would of saved me and my group so much time

Always a great time at the Bronx Zoo. There is so much to do and see. Get your walking shoes on though! The kids enjoyed seeing the animals, as the adults. We loved the wide range of animals you can see at the zoo. Everything is well labeled. Check out their websites for pricing and for their Wednesday rates. We recommend this Zoo it’s a must.

I'm back ladies and gentlemen, you know who I'm and you know what I do here so here it goes. The Bronx Zoo is a great day trip for the family, the wife bought me and our daughter here for Father's Day and it didn't disappoint. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and you will be getting your steps in here. The exhibits are reasonable distance from one another as well as rest rooms and lunch tables. Spend the extra bucks and get the Day Pass so you can see the Congo, ride the shuttle, and the Mandarian Rail. PACK YOUR OWN LUNCH unless you want to pay $82.64 for lunch for a family of 3 at the Dancing Crane Cafe for a burger fries pizza and soda. Throw it in the back pack or one the stroller and your good to go. Ample parking (also at a fee of $20 but they take debit and credit cards as well). The animals didn't disappoint they are healthy looking and active, a truly vast array of wildlife. this is a great place for children or a family day out. But I will let the photos speak for themselves. Book your trip today

Amazing zoo. It’s probably the best zoo I’ve been to. The animals seem relaxed and the whole zoo had a sense of space and privacy. Plenty of shade as we walked around. Canteen was reasonable and free water. Lots of interactive things for kids to do. Easily spend the whole day here. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend.

This is my absolute favorite zoo I’ve ever been to. I try to come here any chance I get. It really does take all day to walk the whole zoo. It will be a lot of walking but I really enjoy it. There’s so much too see! I always feel transported to another place whenever I am here. They have soooo many animals, mammals, reptiles, birds, etc.! Activities for younger and older kids. The whole family will be amazed. There’s also free roaming peacocks all over. Since the zoo is so big, there are more than one exit. The exit we took also had a park right outside which was extended fun time for my kids.

Visiting the Bronx Zoo was an absolute delight. The experience truly stood out, particularly the unforgettable penguin encounter. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly, warm, and knowledgeable staff who made the outing all the more enjoyable. The zoo has been perfectly curated to cater to individuals of all ages. Seeing the penguins up close and personal was definitely a highlight and a charm to behold. I would strongly recommend the Bronx Zoo to all, as it promises an engaging, educative, and interactive experience that shouldn't be missed.

The Bronx zoo has so many cool animals to see! Definitely worth going to. The animals you see here are different from the Central Park Zoo or Prospect Park Zoo. This place is huge so don’t expect to see it all in one day. Start with the monorail and a tram Ride around the property before you do anything else. The food court is open. The place is busier than I thought. So wear your masks for your safety and the animals.

Very nice zoo. It has a lot of exhibits and it’s large area makes it perfect for getting some daily steps along with learning something new and snapping great pictures. It’s also easy to keep safe distance and follow COVID-19 guidelines as this is an outdoor venue with enough space to keep social distancing. Food choice are currently limited but everything else has great 👍

(Translated by Google) For another 3-4 years, our zoo was miserable, the animals were hungry, emaciated, there was no desire to go and look at the dying animals, let alone show it to children. But finally everything has changed radically, the animals are well-groomed, well-fed, the aviaries have changed. There are many staff on site, everything is clean. Now only positive emotions remain from visiting the Almaty Zoo. Keep up the good work, you still have work to do😉 (Original)

We just returned from visiting the Bronx Zoo for the first time. Although during Covid-19, the staff and zoo were fantastic. We felt safe and still saw the majority of the animals. We watch the TV show, and had a great time seeing the sites for real. Don't miss the Bengali Express Monorail, or the awesome gorilla exhibit. Overall, an excellent family day at the zoo. Came on a rainy day, has its pros and cons. Pros is less people around, shorter lines and not as hot. Cons is wet and muddy and of course wet animals smell. If you have a big family definitely get the membership, just parking alone is $17. Come here couple of times will make up for it along with the tickets. The exhibits haven't been updated for quite sometimes, so if you brought your kids here couple years ago, probably won't find anything new to see. It's definitely a good way to get your steps in at the zoo, a lot of walking.

If you can, go on Wednesday since it’s free if you get your tickets online the Monday before. It is a very nice zoo, we went because we watched the show on Disney. The show definitely makes it seem like there are a lot more animals and glamorizes it more, but nonetheless it was still a good time. The world of birds was great. Everyone that worked there was also very nice. The churros there are good too. Gift shop wasn’t too expensive either.

I love experiencing zoos in other states. My wife and I have been wanting to come and finally was able to. I was nervous about the cold weather, but we saw every outdoor animal except the giraffes. We weren't able to see any indoor animals since we weren't vaccinated. It was really upsetting since we were allowed in the gift shop without being vaccinated. All in all, we had a blast. The sea lions were very active, and we got to see the feeding. We will be back and hopefully can see ALL animals.

We went to go see their dinosaur exhibit. I honestly didn't know what to expect and was surprisingly blown away by the attention to detail. I was not expecting life sized dinosaurs that were animated and had sounds too. Great place to take the kids. The exhibit takes about 40 minutes to walk and explore.

We spent a very nice afternoon in the zoo. It's a great park with lots of trees that makes you feel closer to nature, I don't see this in every zoo unfortunately. The staff was very nice and helpful when we had questions. You can see the animals are taken care of and loved. I'd definitely go back again. 😊

Lovely place to go to if you love animals! Just remember to bring sunglasses, water and sneakers if you want to have the most enjoyable experience. Peacocks are all over the zoo! Just don’t get to close😅 And the Gorillas were a fan favorite in my group🦍Will definitely go again! - A Fellow New Yorker [ all pictures are taken by me, Julianna ]

I do not know where to begin. I can just start by saying it is an amazing zoo to visit. I love all of the animals that they have in their exhibit. Which were lions, gorillas, monkeys, deers, elephants, tortoises, and so much more. You just have to come and see for yourself. I do suggest that u come at the time it opens so u can have a fulfilled day. Lastly, I loved that monorail ride that goes around the park. I had a wonderful time, and i plan on coming back again soon.

It was very tiring visit due to hot weather.. Zoo is worth to visit specially for the kids as there's sections for them to enjoy.. Lot of activities held.. There was a show for all ages. Very big area to walk around that is why we did not finished rounding the whole part. I enjoyed the monorail experienced. Kids can also enjoy the nature trek. If tired of walking zoo shuttle also available there but not highly recommended as you could not see animals when you are riding the shuttle. A lot of restaurants and toilets available. Highly recommended to visit but you must go there from opening to closing so as you can see all the places..

#1 Best zoo in the known universe 💖💖we loved walking around and seeing the animals. It was nice to see that their cage were spacious! I particularly loved seeing the gorilla. They were interesting to watch because they behaved a lot like us, which isn't surprising considering we have common root. I was glad to be born as a human though (although sometimes I think their lives are more meaningful!). Anyway, the price seems expensive but it's for a good cause. They are saving many animals from going extinct. I applaud the Bronx Zoo! Otherwise I wouldn't have ever gone to the Bronx 🤣

Went right at opening and spent the entire day there! So clean, not too crowded and lots to see and do. They had this Quest interactive booth all over the zoo, that our son did. Fun science based activities presented by students! So many amazing exhibits to see. Not much for food choices especially for me, as I have celiac but still a wonderful place to visit.

Well that's one of the greatest experiences for kids and adults all together, terrific zoo and clean and wonderful park, if you come on a weekday you might find yourself alone with a tiger or a nice giant snake. It's a must when you got more than 2 weeks in NYC!

Had the best time. I highly suggest getting the VIP tour. It was $160 for an hour for a tour guide driving you to animal exhibits. Ricky was our tour guide and he was amazing. I would do it again and request him. So knowledgeable and funny. First time at the Bronx Zoo and I feel in love with it. I can't wait to visit again. must visit it,

Amazing zoo! So much fun with the kids. Saw lots of animals. The flamingos head to a more sheltered enclosure at the end of the day. Seeing them move looked like an amazing mix of a herd and ballerinas.

Great place to visit with family, I recommend you plan your route before starting, that way you don’t miss any spots you may have wanted to see. The Bronx Zoo, a sprawling oasis in New York City, is a testament to the wonders of the animal kingdom and conservation efforts. Covering an expansive 265 acres, this iconic zoo is not merely a visit but a safari into the diverse realms of wildlife. One of the striking features of the Bronx Zoo is its sheer size. The vastness of the grounds is home to an astonishing variety of animals, representing species from every corner of the globe. From the majestic elephants of the African Plains to the playful antics of primates in the Congo Gorilla Forest, each exhibit offers a glimpse into the unique habitats that these creatures call home. The zoo seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor spaces, providing a dynamic and immersive experience for visitors. The indoor exhibits, such as the World of Reptiles and the Jungle World, allow guests to escape the elements while still marveling at the beauty and diversity of species. Conversely, the outdoor enclosures, like Tiger Mountain and the Himalayan Highlands, showcase animals in expansive, naturalistic settings that mimic their native environments. Visitors can traverse the zoo on well-designed pathways, encountering surprises at every turn. Educational signage and engaging presentations add depth to the experience, making it both entertaining and informative for all ages. The Bronx Zoo stands as a testament to the grandeur and biodiversity of the animal kingdom. Its vastness, diverse animal exhibits, and thoughtful integration of indoor and outdoor spaces make it a must-visit destination for wildlife enthusiasts, families, and anyone seeking a memorable adventure in the heart of the city.

Really loved renovations. However, people still upset me: they feed animals with junk food although it's written not to. Onai system doesn't work, there is no parking, AC doesn't work at places it should (probably administration wants it shut). I would suggest to install water sprinkles inside of some cages, so at summer time animals would feel more comfortable.

The rest is very sad to look at the animals in the cages хотя, although the food that was seen in their dishes shows that the animals are well fed. But it would be better for them to live in freedom 🙏🙏🙏 (Original) Понравилось только Аквариум... Very cute zoo/aquarium in Bermuda and definitely worth the inexpensive price of admission. It's not huge but some of the animals due walk freely around an open area. We definitely enjoyed looking for the lemurs, they stayed up in the trees. We saw two very cute small monkeys along with a pair of parrots. The aquarium had some gorgeous fish I've never seen in NY. It's a very simple bus ride from Hamilton and is definitely recommend taking the trip. Don't waste your money on a cruise excursion, it's much less expensive taking public transportation which is incredibly simple in Bermuda.

"BERMUDA AQUARIUM + ZOOLOGICAL WILDLIFE PARK".. Conservation of Turtle Species such as the Green Turtle, Hawksbill Turtle are ongoing here, with Green Turtles, some from other areas, regularly seen eating sea bed grasses, amazing.. Such large ocean environments are important for many oceanic species that travel hundreds of miles during their individual life times, trying to avoid the 'human plastic pollution, over fishing, poaching,' that threatens their future existence.. Only a few hundred years ago the Oceanic Seas were absolutely full of life, avidly described by the first long distance 'western sea farers', so many Green Turtles that one could walk across their breeding bays on their backs.. We all know of the near extinction plight of certain oceanic Whale Species, conservation being necessary to stop their absolute consumption by Whaling Ships.. Scientific Data is always being updated, Scientific Data suggests that Whale Species actually keep the Oceanic Seas Cool.. Turtle Facts, Whale Facts, Oceanic Marine Animal Facts can/will amaze any interested 'human species'.. So, if you can remember the 'pristine ocean environment', that you are 'blessed' to live within, as many would surely change 'snowy london city', for the warm ocean sunshine of "BERMUDA ISLANDS".. "BERMUDA AQUARIUM + ZOOLOGICAL WILDLIFE PARK" has an interesting, educational, informative web site where you can discover the animals, oceanic species, the ongoing conservation projects.. When you visit the area, you will surely never forget the organised swimming adventures with the 'wild sea turtles', the rare opportunity to see the other Oceanic Marine Species, Animal Species.. Of course you might not be seen again, as 'things/people' seem to vanish, like huge ships full of gold treasures, diamonds, well maybe.. 'Imaginative Conservation Ideas, with Funds are always welcome'.. Thanks for looking after the Wild Sea Turtles.. Around the World, Red Crab Migratory Routes now have high bridges over vehicle paved roads, the Red Crabs use these safe bridges to avoid being squashed by vehicles.. Sir David Attenborough in one of his gold funded films featured little just born Turtles, some confused by the human artificial sea coast bright lights, some being trapped in drains, etc.. Hopefully Sir David has found assistance, for future generations of 'Little Turtles'... "BERMUDA AQUARIUM + ZOOLOGICAL WILDLIFE PARK"..

We had such a good day there. So much to see and do. To go round and see it all in one day, is impossible. So we will be back soon to make sure that we do see it all. With so much going on round you, it's so easy to lose track of time and before you know it, it's time to go. There were lots of benches so you could have lunch and a quick drink. And caffe shops and reasonably priced too. We got to feed the giraffes, but unfortunately the battery on my phone went dead, so no photos at this time. Luckily, we had a camera so we did get planty photos. We were blessed with a beautiful dry day till round 4 oclock and than it started to pour down. All and all , it was a wonderful time/experience for our two little ones. 👍👍

The Bronx zoo is filled with animals from all over the world and will fascinate not only kids but adults too. The animal enclosures are spacious and mimic their natural habitat, which allows one to observe the majestic animals in an as realistic setting as possible while in confinement. If you want a change from the urban jungle that is New York City, the zoo is a great place for a stroll in nature. It is accessible by public transport, and would be an ideal day trip for both city residents and out of towners. Pro-tip: entrance to the zoo is free on most Wednesdays. Free tickets need to be booked in advance on the zoos website.

NY is a place littered with wrong turns and hidden gems. Bronx Zoo is the perfect combination of them both. Side note: take exit 6, not 7w for parking if you're driving southbound towards them. The zoo wasn't over packed, free on Wednesday, and food was reasonably priced. Souvenirs are, for the most part, priced to sell. Proof of vaccination is a must for admissions. Grounds are kept clean, staff is wonderful, and animals look well cared for. Definitely children friendly. Make sure you remember which parking lot you left your vehicle in. There are 6 of them.

Took my seven year old to the Boo at the Zoo on Halloween day. It was not to crowded as it is reservation/vaccination only for entry. You can not go to indoor exhibits unless you wear a mask and are vaccinated. It was a beautiful fall day and it was fun. We did not do the boo zoo events like the candy trail, and arts and crafts as ho early all the zoos we have been to across the country and other events do the same exact thing, every year. The animals very active and the gorillas even thumped on the glass. We parked outside the zoo for free as it was a Sunday and we easily found a spot. The food is subpar. The chicken tenders and burgers were very low quality and you can tell they were microwaved. Would not spend $$ on food there again. There is a nice park on 182nd we ate breakfast before entering. All in all very nice Halloween day. I think it is worth the 39.95 per adult and 29.95 per child 3& up. I have a NYCID membership but was not valid on Halloween day.

Love love love I took the kids yesterday to the zoo such a great experience. We saw all the displays that were gonna be lit up at night for the holiday lights it looked so much better than the past years. We ended up purchasing tickets online and enjoying the holiday lights something I wasn't planning on doing because it was cold and I have two little ones. But they all enjoyed it so much my husband ended up joining us this was by far the best holiday lights they went all out Christmas music playing throughout the whole zoo and not just the modern day Christmas music. Tons of staff members wherever you turn to help you out amazing hot chocolate and my daughter is a favorite favorite part s'mores. It was cold a lot of walking but so worth it and my 2-year-old's favorite part was the train.

A worthwhile experience with kids who like animals and birds. We enjoyed the world of birds and spent major part of our day admiring all the different birds. It helps if you go in early and spend the day inside the zoo. We couldn't cover some of the other attractions due to paucity of time. We watched the tiger walk around in his place and the rhinos and giraffes in their winter quarters. I would have loved the tiger mountain area without all the screens with moving animals distracting us from the real ones. Overall, it's a nice fun experience with the kids.

We arrived on 10am and waited there untill it closed. seasonal monorail takes you through the Asian wilderness. It open May – October only. Closed November – April and Weather dependent. try to go in the monorail first If it is open, otherwise you have to wait more than 1 hour due to long line. We visited the zoo with my daughter in winter, my expectations were not high. However, we got a great show from the seals, we were accompanied around the zoo by freely walking peacocks😍. Many heat-loving animals from summer enclosures are moved indoors for their comfort, this is very caring. We were impressed by the scale of the cages, they are quite spacious with preservation of the appropriate climate and plantations in many of them. All the animals are well-groomed and friendly. This is my favorite zoo, I will come there in the summer)

The Bronx Zoo is a great place to spend a day for both kids and adults. It's quite large and the distances between exhibits can be significant, so those who are in poor physical health might want to reconsider a trip here. There's a wide range of animals so you're guaranteed to find some creature that interests you. The paths are wide and there's a lot of space so it never feels very crowded, even on a warm weekend day. There are a lot of large trees so there's plenty of shade. The cost is significant for adults and their parking lots cost $20 per car so it's not a cheap trip. If you visit more than twice a year, it's more cost effective to become a member.

It is one of the largest and most popular zoos in the United States. It is home to over 4,000 animals representing over 650 species. The zoo is divided into several different sections, each of which is themed to a different continent or region. Some of the most popular exhibits at the Bronx Zoo include: * The African Plains: This exhibit features a wide variety of African animals, including lions, elephants, giraffes, and zebras. * The Congo Gorilla Forest: This exhibit is home to a troop of gorillas, as well as other animals native to the Congo rainforest. * The Tiger Mountain: This exhibit features several different species of tigers, including the Siberian tiger and the Sumatran tiger. * The Sea Lion Pool: This exhibit offers visitors the opportunity to see sea lions up close. * The Reptile House: This exhibit houses a variety of reptiles, including snakes, lizards, and turtles. The Bronx Zoo is a great place to learn about animals from all over the world. It is also a great place to have a fun and educational day out with the family. Overall, the Bronx Zoo is a great place to visit if you are interested in animals and learning about them. It is a large and well-maintained zoo with a diverse collection of animals. However, it can be crowded and expensive, so be sure to plan your visit accordingly.

We had a wonderful time. As two adults on our first visit to the Bronx, it was much more than I expected. The Zoo itself is quite large and the animals had a decent amount of space. Though the sea bird exhibit was a little scary since we were not expecting to get flown over and the birds seemed to "laugh" at us. It was still fun, but fair warning. It was not super crowded probably because it was a little rainy, but a lot of the animals were still out and roaming. They do require you to buy the tickets before hand, but the site was very easy to manage.

Visiting the Bronx Zoo had kind of been a bucket list item of mine. It did not disappoint. The Zoo is much larger than I had expected. About 400 Acres. It's is broken into different sections of the world. I highly recommend the tram ride. It's relatively quick and provides a nice look at different animal habits. There is lots of foliage and plenty of shaded benches. A few different souvenir and food shops scattered throughout the Zoo. All the areas are pretty amazing but it is my opinion that the gorrilla area is the best. You are very close to them and they are so expressive. As Zoos go, this is a great one!

A great place to go for a day out with friends or family. Bronx Zoo was loads of fun. My favorite part was the Reptile enclosure. It was genuinely fantastic and fun. I can't wait to go back again! Definitely an all-day thing, and we still didn't see everything. But 100% recommend it.

My kids and I loved seeing all of the animals at the zoo. There was such a variety, and views of the animals and exhibits were amazing. We went on a Wednesday so that we could take advantage of the reduced ticket prices. We also brought a cooler packed with our lunch. Check it out!

Ok, hear me out... The zoo is beautiful. But get ready to walk a lot. Bring snacks and drinks for the family because inside the food it's pricey! Wednesdays are free, yes. BUT not all. To see the nicer animals like tigers and the train tour you have to pay extra. (There're two places that you have to pay separately). The extra is $16 something. The rest of the days it's regular price. Go early, around opening time. It won't be so crowded and you'll be able to enjoy it more.

An extremely fun all-day activity! I recommend going on a day when it's not too sunny and on a weekday to avoid larger crowds! If you go you should visit the budgie landing ( $5 per person) there you can feed birds! Also, you must take a ride on the monorail rail!

The Bronx Zoo brings the child out of anyone. Lots of animals to see 👀 when they aren't asleep or hiding. Can't blame the animals. They must be tired of the daily grind with people looking at them. No one, not even animals, can get used to that. The food is expensive for not much in portions. Bring your own food 😋 or go elsewhere. The staff is very helpful and courteous. It does take a whole day to see 👀 everything. Your best bet is the upgraded package. Wednesdays are free, but it's for the limited package.

This is a great plan with kids. I took my nieces and nephew, and they had much fun and learned things. Make sure you carry with you your own water bottle to refill it for free. If you buy water there, that's too expensive. You can carry as much food as you want, there is picnic area, you don't necessarily have to buy food there. I went on a Wednesday buying the $17 ticket, which was a better deal than in regular days. Just make sure to make the reservation for 10 am. so you can actually get to see everything . The zoo is huge, so make sure you go to the star attractions first because those are the ones you are paying for.

This zoo is always great. You need to purchase tickets online. The price is steep at $45 a perosn for Saturday at noon. Parking is $20. There is a lot of food stands. An icecream and water came up to $18. The primates exhibit has the most action, in my opinion. The world of reptiles is interesting with a wide variety of snakes. The carousel is nice as there is no fee and you can go on as many times you like. You can tour the entire zoo in 4 to 5 hours. There have 1 bear 1 tiger 1 lion. Beware.... if it rains they take the animals inside so you won't see anything.

An amazing experience! It is one of the largest zoos in the United States by area and is the largest metropolitan zoo in the United States by area. A beautiful 265 acres of park in the middle of the Bronx, New York. Super clean, organized and very impressive.

Definitely didn't know what to expect but it was beyond my expectations. Most definitely loved the donuts that were on sale also .

The Bronx Zoo Holiday Lights is amazing! The have beautiful trails and great stations for adults and children! Had a wonderful time. We went during the week and it was not crowded. We were able to enjoy all of the visual displays. It is a must-see for all family members.

Good place to visit during summer time with your family and specially kids as it will enhance there knowledge and develop their interest in the wildlife. Separate section for kids where they can touch open animals like pig,hen and cow and feed them. On every Wednesday you can enjoy free entry in the zoo but for limited stock. For photographer also there are lots of good options to showcase and explore the zoo. COVid arrangement is good and the occupancy is restricted to 25%. Kids enjoy a lot there that's why so many people buy yearly passes.

Zoo visit was wonderful. Limits on the number of people allowed and requirement of reservations made the visit very pleasamt. Staff was helpful and the animals were cooperative! We saw the Madagascar, mouse house, giraffes, gorillas and the seals. Be aware that a number of exhibits are closed. No paper maps available, but link to zoo site is provided. Disinfection stations are copious and many paths are one way onlupook

It's always been pretty fun to visit the zoo on school trips, being from The Bronx means elementary schools send the kids there every year. However it is a bit pricey not to mention that there have been a few escaped animals every now and again. Mostly snakes. I remember being 10 in a class trip walking by the reptilian exhibit, and the whole class stopping to look & point at an escaped snake hiding in the bushes while hissing at us. It's pretty concerning that a snake could somehow escape from their glass enclosure and that staff either do not realize this( we moved on from there but on our way back that snake was still there) or simply decide not to report it to visitors. I'm honestly just glad no one got hurt that day since there was no news report of a zoo visitor being bit by a snake.

Great zoo. Pace yourself! Good mask wearing, good respect of distance. Most things seem to be open today. Huge space. Use the train and monorail.

Was pleasantly surprised at how much fun we had. Very clean facilities, and not too crowded due to COVID restrictions on the amount of people they let in each day. Two lines were long: The line to the gorilla camp and the merry go round as they only let so many people in at once, but the rest of the zoo was less crowded. A fun family day.

We love the zoo! We have a membership which is totally worth it if you are going to visit more than one in a year. We went today on November 15th and a bunch of animals weren't out for viewing. Not sure if it was our timing or the season. They were setting up for the holiday lights which looked very cool.

Great place. Scheduled our time. No problems parking and getting in. Lots to do and see safely outdoors. Everyone wearing masks and socially distancing. Like a nice hike in the woods with plenty of animals to see at each stop. Gorillas were a great source of entertainment! Had to wait in a long line to go in due to limited numbers of people for safety during Covid. The line moved quickly though. Would definitely do again.

They were monitoring the capacity with someone at the the front entrance and exit to make sure it didnt get to crowded, but even with space some tourists seemed to like to stand right next to you when there is plenty of other space to be used. I also appreciated the safety measures that has been taking with limited ticket sales and parking directions.

I got there at 10:20 on a Sunday morning shortly after they opened. They have a parking lot but I personally think it’s insane to pay $17 for parking when you could possibly find street parking. So that’s what I did, made a u-turn and found street parking a block away. It’s recommended purchasing your ticket prior to showing up. The zoo was clean and easy to navigate however a lot of the animals weren’t out because it was a cold 35 degree morning. They are many food options and a couple spots for a beer inside the zoo however they were all closed. Overall it was a good experience and after 4 1/2 hours I left with still about a 1/3 of the zoo left unexplored.

We went for the holiday lights show. It was impossible to socially distance. The way they organized everything all the attractions and food were packed in one area. Other than that, the place is great and the lit animals were beautiful.

The zoo is pretty and relaxing place to be in the Fall with the foileage. I wish that the animals especially the eagles and other large birds have better living space.. I know the real estate is prime everywhere in NYC, but perhaps a better design can overcome the space limitations.

Bronx Zoo is great as it always has been...even now during COVID. Tickets can be obtained in advance online. They have timed tickets to avoid over crowding. Even on a free Wednesday, it was very empty earlier in the morning. Everyone seemed very compliant with wearing masks. There is lots of parking along and around Southern Blvd. I believe the alternate side there is on Thursday and Friday, so you should have no problem finding a spot on the other days. There were a bunch of open spots available when I visited on 10 AM on a Wednesay...I snagged a spot right near the South Blvd. pedestrian entrance which is near 183rd street. Lots of hand sanitizing stations throughout the zoo as well. Most of the concession stands ar closed due to COVID, understandably. Also some animal may be indoors depending on the weather. Be sure to check ahead on the website or app. All staff were friendly and helpful. I remember coming to the zoo during the winter in the past and it is like you have the zoo to yourself...and this year with COVID it seems to be even emptier. It is also a great place to walk so condier getting an annual membership which also gets you access to 3 other zoos around NYC. Lastly, be sure to talk to zookeepers/attendants if you see them around. Most are very knowledgable...its always nice to get to learn a few facts about the animals from someone with hands-on experience.

Holiday Lights..at $30 per ticket. Was not worth it. It was a bunch of lawn ornaments and lit up bushes lighting your route. On the plus side, in the center was a lit up tree. The lights on the tree are choreographed lights to music and sound. The seals were out to see but they were the only animals. It was a nice walk. But my 6 year old was done early. There was a building we COULD have gone in but with covid, we opted to stay outside. Unsure of what was inside. I feel the lights on trees and bushes needed some twinkling. Lit up animals could have moved or have some light up by motion sensor showing a hidden animal in the trees. Something to engage kids.

I visited the zoo around 3 weeks ago on a Saturday with intention of seeing the lights and roasting marshmallows. My family and I did get to do this and it was absolutely fantastic! i really loved the experience but the reason im giving 3 stars is because it took so much time for us to get in even with reservations. We had already paid for our entry but for some reason they couldn't find our electronic reservation until 20 minutes after we got there.

The best zoo in the entire world. This zoo is HUGE. You absolutely cannot tour this entire zoo in one day. It will take at least a week. This is the best place to take a girlfriend or date out to! All the animals are well-cared for here. My favorite are the peacocks thay randomly walk around and show thier feathers to you. There is an exhibit for every animal you can imagine. You will probably be greeted by two seals in a huge body of water as you enter, really cool to see. I havnt been to this zoo in years, and honestly, I'm itching to go back. It is probably my most favorite place to go to in all of NYC!

Always love the zoo, so nice to be able to walk around outdoors and see the animals during this pandemic. Zoo was very empty so felt safe, no crowds or people in top of you. Was sad the gorillas were not outside but got to see 3 of them in the indoor portion. You need to make a reservation now online. Wednesdays are free which is great and you have the option of buying all the extra exhibits for only $9.99 extra which it's normally $6 per enterance once you're in the park.

For years I quit going to the zoo for animal welfare reasons and resumed when my kid was born. Bronx zoo is more than a ice breaking zoo for me. It made me believe for the first time that it's possible to convey conservation in the zoo. I became a member and visited as often as possible. During the pandemic it's going to be challenging for the animals and the employees. The Zoo strive to provide the high standard service as always. This has been and will continue to be my favorite place in the New York.

We went for the holiday lights and it was Super fun and magical. Felt very safe. We went at 3pm so some of the zoo was still open. Don't know if I will go to the lights next year, but we enjoyed ourselves.

The zoo as always is a great experience. It's a little different now due to Covid-19, but I'd definitely continue to visit. It's a big zoo, so children under 2 may have a hard time seeing the entire zoo in one visit.

Now this is a zoo! Way better than San Diego ,Henry Doorly ,Columbus etc those zoos all have something outdated or small on their grounds this one has 0. This zoo also has a just WOW 😳 collection. With tons of great exhibits that are all spacious and naturalistic. Only problem is the decreasing of exhibits like rare animal range, world of darkness, monkey house, the skyfari, Amazing amphibians, the blesbook and Arabian Oyrex exhibit to. Not to mention hippos Sumatran rhinos and, others. Still a great zoo that is the best in the world But, there needs to be a new exhibit added sooner or later because if this keeps repeating the zoo will go to rot.

This was my second visit to the zoo. We were there for the Holiday Lights Festival, it was its last day yesterday for the lights. I do think it's a nice zoo. I can only talk about last night's experience. It was an awesome experience and I cant wait until next year to see the lights. It was really cold but I suggest that you go when it's dark because the lights are brighter and nicer. It also can be a cute date night and family night. The carousel is awesome its bugs. Of course, the food is expensive. Put the food in your budget or bring your own. I love hot chocolate but their hot chocolate was not good.

Not a bad zoo for such a small price. 700 tenge for adults; tickets for children aged 5-12 are 200 tenge. They have many types of animals in the zoo, all looked healthy and well fed. Some animals have a winter pavilion so that they wont feel cold during winter. The place is quite big (21 hectares), and I was made to understand that the Almaty Zoo is home to over 5,000 animals from all over the globe. Operating hours may differ during winter, may close at 5pm, other times they are open til 7-8pm daily. The website says 9pm though. I didnt see any food stalls open during winter around 10am when i was there. We were the first customers on that day (weekend) , so better come prepared with snacks. Drinking water fountains are widely available at the zoo.

They asked why one cash register was open, but they did not hear an answer. The enclosures are dirty, the glass partitions are stained. Since you see that there are a lot of people near such places, why not wipe the surfaces more often? There is a stinking smell near the bears. Small? No, i would say compact. During my short stay on the island, I enjoyed my visit to the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo. This compact Aquarium and Zoo combo was well laid out, well presented and highly informative. It was well worth the 90-minute visit during the tourist off-season of February.

  • 4/5 Peter O. 5 years ago on Google
They had a great variety of fish in their Aquarium. And the tanks were kept clean. The only reason why I gave four stars is because the size of the zoo. It was pretty small and most of the animals we're kind of hiding out. Although everything as a whole was kept clean. The animals definitely did look like they were cared for. No signs of neglect. It's a good place to stop off if you're on the island to check out. Prices are not crazy for admission. I believe it was anywhere from 5 to $10 per adult.

It is not a good time if your not into crowds and people and kids constantly pushing you from behind to see what's ahead lol. But, we made the best of it and simply being able to see all of its wonders was awesome. Only exhibits we didn't see were the Planetarium (extra fee and got sold out by noon) and the one with the penguins(there was a show and it was crowded we couldn't get in). Can't wait to go back one day...

They go above and beyond offering classes, camps, and field trips for children. Aid in numerous science research projects, ocean conservation projects, internships and scholarships for college students, and so much more. Cost: Adult $10, Senior Citizen $5, Child $5, children 5 and under are free.

This is one of the best zoos to visit. Please support it when the lockdown restrictions are lifted. It costs so much to run the zoo and every penny counts. An amazing place for young and old to get up close to some of nature's most wonderful animals. The work and development of the zoo speaks volumes for what they are trying to achieve, we have been many many times and there is never a dull moment.

Attended Colchester Zoo today with family, greeted by friendly members of staff who checked you in. Everyone compiling with face covering in the indoor areas. One route round the Zoo which allows you to see everything. Toilet are clean, as is the eating areas. Some true remarkable animals here. The kids especially loved the elephants and rhinos. Would highly recommend a trip here.

First timer! Super fun for all ages! We went mid day and it wasn’t busy and they had a lot of social distancing which was nice. Some exhibits were closed but we had a great time overall. Will definitely visit again!

We were concerned at first as whether the zoo had pit too many restrictions in place but pleasantly surprised that it didn’t hinder our visit and we have a lovely time. It was great to see so many animals, all looking in great condition

A lot bigger than expected, so many animals to see and loved the free reigning wallabys and goats. We had a 12pm slot and spent the whole afternoon there, right until closing time. Lovely weather too which was lucky!

This is a fantastically compact zoo, suitable for all ages. Everything is easily accessible. The staff are always friendly and you can get right up close to most of the animals. Set in the beautiful Essex hills, it's a place to escape to for the day. Themed in such a way that it could feel a little like an amusement park, rather than just feeling like a huge field with fences around animals. Well worth the yearly membership.

What a brilliant time was had here for my daughter's seventh birthday treat. Such excellent value for money. Lovely animals loads to do for kids and excellent facilities. The many cafes in site were so clean and full of choice and priced very good. Have a lovely day here and can't wait to come again even though it's two hours from our home. Very helpful friendly staff and all the animals and enclosures were well looked after. We learnt a lot of facts too. Would recommend everyone visit here. Would give a hundred stars of I could. Definitely buying a season ticket gold card. Thank you for making my daughter's birthday weekend special. Covid safe and plenty of places to wash and sanitise your hands. Well done Colchester zoo xx

A great day out for the family. The zoo has a wonderful collection of animals with new arrivals throughout the year (helping conservation). Our favourite area is the African animals where you can see Rhino (including 2 babies), Giraffe and Elephants. The facilities are well looked after and the catering offering is good. Currently there is a one way system in operation to aid social distancing. You do need to pre-book - social media channels will let you know when tickets are released. Definitely worth a visit.

My review is of the Holiday lights Show at the Bronx Zoo. The tickets are pretty expensive. Our were over $30 and we received a senior citizen discount. Parking is another $17.50 which makes this a pretty expensive outing. However, there were lots of kids who seemed to love the creative lighting displays of the giraffes, elephants along with the lions and monkeys. The fact is the light show was pretty brilliantly done.

Though it is little far away from the city center, this is one of the best zoo in NYC. It’s a perfect place for a day out with your family and kids. There are too many things to do and see. You will need an entire day to cover all. They have stores and food stalls and also, a beer stall near the Asia Gate. You can take advantage of shuttle service and one of the highlight is the monorail. If you come by car, parking is bit expensive. $20 for non members. You can also bring your own food and drinks. And the zoo has a lot of shades. So, no worry if it’s sunny and hot outside. Highlights: monorail, carousels, Congo, ropeway and Asia center.

  • 5/5 Sebastian D. 2 years ago on Google
It was great. For starters people at the gate were super friendly and helpful, maps on the webpage work great. When you are there you have to be quick, otherwise it is impossible to see everything. Congo and seals are a lot of fun. It is big, well organized and clean. It is perfect for families but anyone can have a great time. Great experience

  • 5/5 Cheryl S. 2 years ago on Google
The Bronx Zoo is pretty impressive. I've been to a few across the country and this is definitely one of the best. The enclosures for mammals were made to look and feel like the natural terrain they originated from. One of my favorite activities there was the monorail in Asia. We were able to take a close up, guided tour. The pricing was absolutely reasonable for what we received.

  • 5/5 A T. 2 years ago on Google

The zoo is a great place to take the kids or to have a nice walk. All the employees where friendly and where ready to help with any questions or directions I asked (I don't like reading the map, I asked around). My toddler loves the kids zoo are inside and the carousel. Completely recommend. Be ready to walk, bring a lightweight stroller and have comfortable clothing.

  • 5/5 huajun l. 2 years ago on Google
It is a big zoo and you better come early cause it takes whole day to visit, my suggestion is buy conservation supporter online, it is much cheaper than buy ticket, 390 for two member plus one guest, and kids are ticket free, and plus free parking and special events, that includes five zoos and one aquarium. Last but not least, you better bring water and food.

  • 4/5 vanessa k. 2 years ago on Google
Went on a Thursday and it was perfect. No wait, plenty of parking and not crowded at all. This was my first time there so I was not aware that most of the food concessions were closed. Out of the whole zoo only 1 food area was open, not sure if I was because of being a weekday or covid times but since it was not crowded at all It was not that big of a deal. Some exhibitions were closed but still a huge zoo to explore and my almost 3 year old had an amazing time. Can't wait to return.

I can admit I was a bit apprehensive of spending a big chunk of time in the BZ because I only had a short two days in NYC but I can say that I can't take away from the marvel that is this place. With the sightseeing pass we had to pay for their *star attractions* but they were worth it. This place is probably the cleanest, most fresh-aired place in all of Manhattan. Do yourself a favor and visit.

Always wanted to go. Checked off my bucket list. We enjoyed it very much. Not much food/stores open due to Covid in NY. We provided our vaccine proof so we could access all indoor displays. I watch the zoo on TV and was excited to see the bats, lions, amd Tigers. The river views are pretty might want to have someone remove tires from river, not part of zoo but the rail goes over it. Outdoor exhibits are avg. Indoor are excellent. Elephants looked sad.

  • 5/5 Michael G. 2 years ago on Google
Thoroughly enjoyable! Everything is all decorated for Halloween and all the kids, and some adults, were in costume. Park employees were super helpful and eager to please. Masks and proof of vaccination are required for indoor exhibits. Get tix in advance!

Went with my boyfriend about a week ago. Six hours and nearly 3,000 photos later, we had only seen about half of the zoo. We cannot wait to go back to see the other half next year. The exhibits were spacious and well maintained. The grounds were clean, the staff were all very friendly, and even the food was delicious.

This visit was my first vist to The Bronx Zoo. Let me tell you what an amazing experience it was. All if the displays are very well put together. When looking at the displays you could tell they were comfortable and happy. The Bronx Zoo is a must see if you are ever in NY.

Great zoo! We took the 2 train from our hotel in Manhattan then it was just few minutes of walking from the train station. They will check your vaxx card and ID so they can give you a bracelet for some indoor spots. Some exhibits require additional fees like the Congo and Asia exhibit. We enjoyed the bird exhibit and reptile section the most. I love that it is not super fenced (check out the penguin area the birds are free on the path) as some of the zoos we visited but of course wilder animals are still kept at a safe distance. Definitely a must see! Tip: checkout their website on Mondays to score a free timed entry on Wednesdays. :)

The Christmas animal lights are beautiful. Hot chocolate is great. Making smores at the fire pits was fun and warming too. Arrive there slightly before 3 and see some animals especially the bears and gizzelle. Really not crowded until 6. Since it gets dark early, yo will be in the dark seeing the light show easily. Wear warm clothes and walking shoes. It can really put you in the holiday spirit.

Huge zoo! Online, interactive map application is helpful. Amazing that this zoo is in the heart of a city. Only outdoor dining at this time. Utilized subway and bus system to travel from Times Square which involved some walking, but wasn't bad at all. Suggest using google Maps such is great for directions.

  • 5/5 Pietro C. 2 years ago on Google
Animals first viewed as exotic are now endangered. But Bronx Zoo frames this as a positive story of conservation & species recovery. Reptile House was excellent.

  • 5/5 Olga S. 2 years ago on Google
I haven't seen the lights in over a decade and it was a wonderful experience! The lights were beautiful & there were so many different ones! BEAUTIFUL!!! the only semi-complaint I have is that it would have been good to have a guide or map or even signs to follow... but the way it's laid out there's no chance that you'd miss or skip anything anyway... it was fantastic even if, like me, you don't have kids, it's a cool date too 😊

  • 5/5 Danielle R. 2 years ago on Google
We went for the Holiday lights show and it was so worth it! Five kids under 7 and a few adults, it just snowed and everything looked a little more magical than usual. The lantern trails were amazing, the lights beautiful and the activities were fun! S'mores station, carousel, boozy coffee and got chocolate. 10/10 even in the artic chill.

We easily spent 5 hours at this zoo, looking at the wonderful animals and viewing each exhibit that they had. The path is easily walkable and a few attractions like the Asia monorail and Jungle time were a great experience to be near the animals and learn about their history. I love the 3D experience show and the peacocks roaming around. Absolutely beautiful.

  • 5/5 Shangwen C. 2 years ago on Google
Even in the cold winter, the animals are quite active. It is not only a place to meet some wonderful animals, but also a meaningful lesson for visitors, teaching them that while they love these cute animals, they should not forget to protect the environment and their homes. A very meaningful trip!

Visiting the Bronx family zoo was a delightful experience! The moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a warm welcome by the friendly staff, who were eager to help and guide me. The zoo boasts a variety of food options that cater to different dietary needs, all of which were equally delicious. Additionally, the gift shop was one of the highlights of my visit, offering a diverse range of souvenirs from cute plushies to practical items that you won't find anywhere else. As for parking, the zoo offers plenty of space for all visitors, which is a significant advantage in a city where parking can be a hassle. However, I would not recommend visiting during winter times as animal availability is limited, and some exhibits may be closed. But if you're planning to go during the warmer months, be prepared to enjoy a fantastic experience filled with nature and wildlife at its best. We love to be in a zoo when we are far away from home. This zoo has a wonderful possibility to get in the zoo on a wednesday for free! We booked the extra fees for the exhibitions and it was a good decision...

Needs support, but very disappointed for the amount of donations this zoo receives, seemed run down and not taken care of very well. This is the 65th year I have been going to this zoo. The parking attendant at gate B was disrespectful and so was a person at the administration building. Seems that the maintenance has gone down hill. Probably won’t return any time soon or will I renew my membership.

One of our favorite places to visit. Many animals but spaced out so be prepared to walk. If you have little ones perhaps a stroller. Pack your snacks and drinks as it can be pricey. Try to time it to see the feedings of the animals. Worth it to pay for membership and if you come here a lot to pay for parking membership as it pays for itself after 3 visits in a year.

It was an awesome experience! The place is extremely clean and well kept. There's absolutely no mosquitoes. The animals were magnificent. My family and I had a great time. The zoo is enormous. We didn't get to view everything. We definitely have to visit again.

Went with my mom. We had an excellent time. Our favorites were the giraffes, budgie birds, and the butterflies. All the animals, though, were absolutely amazing. The landscaping was beautiful and well shaded. No sunburns here.

Amazing zoo with amazing attractions. You can tell they're taken care of very well. It would take at least two full days to enjoy everything the zoo has to offer, maybe three if you're like me and enjoy watching animals. If you're short on time, I'd recommend visiting the star attractions first. Zoo is quite expansive so there is a ride that takes you across different points. Plenty of paid parking available inside the zoo. But...... If it rains, you're in for a bad experience. You cannot reschedule. I've visited the zoo both on a sunny day and wet day with torrential rains. On a wet day they close the rides and few star attractions. Few animals are moved indoors and off public view. Water logs in few places and you need be prepared for wet socks/shoes. Only one cafeteria was open so stock up/eat up some food before you set out to explore. That being said, there's very few people and that can make for a good experience. The animals see such few people that they actually look at you and react to you, so that's wonderful. With the right mindset, a rainy day is better than a sunny day. But if you're from a different city and only visiting on a rainy day, sucks to be you.

The Bronx Zoo is very large zoo with amazing architecture, exhibits and landscape. Nice shady area to beat the heat. It located within Bronx Park in the Bronx, a borough of New York City. It is one of the largest zoos in the United States. Wednesday is donation day, so pay what you wish. Especially like the Madagascar and bird exhibits. Saw more unique species here. Easy to get to by subway/bus from Manhattan. Major exhibits such as Congo Gorilla Forest, JungleWorld, Wild Asia Monorail, Madagascar!, Tiger Mountain, African Plains, World of Birds, World of Reptiles, Zoo Center.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time at the zoo. As a Bronx Resident, my bar was not very high but it definitely exceeded my expectations. Primarily, it was to take my mother and my son to have a beautiful family day which we did and for that, I am grateful. Animals were playing and very cooperative when it came to showcasing their playful selves. I could just be lucky. Amazing time, wish their were more restrooms in between main areas, and more snack stands would help. Overall, highly recommend!

So great lots to see. Would have liked to see some water areas for the but day to cool off, like some zoos have splash area for kids, lots of walking. The return policy for wheel chair was not great either. Parking is not the best, it's hard finding your car even if you take picture and know we're it is hard to figure out which way to exit.

Wow this is definitely one of the most wonderful places in New York. Great for a family day. Honestly, you have to get here very early so that you can see most of the animals and things that are available to see. Definitely buy your tickets online. No waiting on line for buy tickets. They have a zoo kid just for small kid. They can pet the animals at this particular location. There are fish, reptiles, Leon’s,….. I can’t even start mentioning. On the other hand, the food is a little bit expensive. Bring a lot of water because there is a lot of walking. If you become a member you can get on the train to take a break on walking. Additionally, for being a member you get a percentage off of everything you buy inside. Here you will see animals that you never thought to see. The dinosaur is one of the best things to see as well. In here you have a great idea on how big the dinosaurs used to be. You can become an expert dinosaur. You will encounter the American Icons, this is the Eagle. The butterfly house have over 500 butterfly flying in it. Many different types of them. Additionally, if you are locking you can see some of them coming out of the vacuum. Oh yeah !!! Almost forgot. Wednesday the zoo is free, but don’t even think of coming in that day. There is so much people that you won’t be able to see the animals. There will be so many lines that you will find it to be a nightmare. So pay for they week day and you will be happy.

We love the zoo so much we became members, it actually works out to be cheaper if you go more than twice with a few people!

It’s definitely worth the visit I was there with my 22 month old boy and we loved it. I recommend going there early morning u Will definitely won’t be able to cover the entire zoo but the best part is the mono rail they have it gives u the chance to see animals closely but without walking around much. The animals are healthy and a treat to watch. My son loved giraffe.

I love the zoo. my mom's a member and a volunteer so we go a few times a year. It's a LOT of walking and their food is God awful honestly. Hence the 4 stars. But they do so much conservation and release of animals back into the wild to re-establish wild animals in regions. 80 percent of wild bison dna can be traced back here. Weds are free in the summer and can get really crowded and the new budgie exhibit is pretty cool. Support the NYC zoos. They do good work.

I was expecting a better experience, the zoo is a very nice place and everything was grate, but I when it come to the animals they have there, they have two for each type. With exception of the Gorillas, flamingos, monkeys and some others. I don't know if it was because of time I was there. With this I'm not saying it was a bad experience, but my expectations were higher.

The zoo is always fun with the family. It was super hot. It was hard to see some of the animals since they were all hiding in the shade. We did the bird feeding with the little ones. That was pretty fun. It would be nice if they add more lower branches for the kids. If you have small kids and they want to feed the birds go by the door when you come in. The branches are the lowest and the birds are the closest.

Take advantage of visiting the Zoo. Do you know that you can't for free on Wednesdays, just make a reservation online on Mondays at 5:00, and you can get 4 tickets for free, which you will receive by email. Good luck, bring your own food, snack, and water bottles.

Great zoo, with a decent variety of animals. Although, I believe there could be more. Also, opening a little earlier would be helpful. In 2 hours of opening the heat picks up and certain animals sleep, or hide in the shade. With that being said it is a large zoo that, and is a great place to spend a day with kids. The zoo and the facilities are clean and we'll maintained. The zoo is stroller and accessible friendly. The Children's zoo section has a petting zoo to feed goat, sheeps, cows, donkeys, and alpacas. You'll need singles/quarters. There's ample parking available. Remember to sunscreen, and hydrate. Be prepared to walk a lot.

My husband took me here for my first time for my birthday and we had an absolutely amazing time! So many amazing animals to see, and all the staff we talked to were so helpful and friendly! We can't wait to bring our whole family, we're even looking into the membership!

I had so much fun here! It was easily accessible from the subway, which was appreciated by this tourist! I love how the zoo is built to work with the natural land and the animals arranges just in cages one right after the other. I also loved the variety of animals we got to see and it was nice that a lot of them were different from the animals we see at our local zoo. I did not like having to walk so much in between exhibits - but what's rough for me is what's best for the animals.

We visited the zoo at a weekend. I am with my family along with my friends family. We have annual pass(220dollars) which allows free entrance for up to seven people, unlimited entrees. The zoo is amazing. I especially loved the butterfly zone. It is a huge green house where butterflies are everywhere, all around you. The mouse exhibition is also better than I expected: I thought it to be scary, but it turned out to be super interesting. Food here is not overpriced and the ice cream tastes great. I strongly recommend the annual pass.

The zoo is vast and has all kinds of animals, fun and informative. Loved the mono rail, don’t miss it. And the children’s zoo was creative with so many species of animals. The shuttle service should be improved by having many stops & clear bus stop signs for pick up and drop offs and also to have the time schedule at the shuttle service stops. Last time we visited I remember seeing more than one elephant, in the recent visit it’s only HAPPY - the only elephant. Can we have more elephants?? I’m hoping that they add more elephants and improve on shuttle service.

Wow, could not have had a better time with the 1 year old and the membership is a must because of how much money it saves for special attractions like the children’s zoo and the monorail or carousel. Animals have great visibility and look healthy and happy, food and beverages are good although if you go during the weekdays like we did you’ll find not all of them are open which is fine since almost no one is there and everything feels very personal

Great Zoo, probably the best one i have ever visited. All the animals seemed to be very healthy and happy with their quite big cages. I would recommend buying the 18$ unlimited access ticket because you get to see a lot of animals that you normally would'nt and in my opinion they have earned the fare for the quality of the Zoo too. I would recommend for adults and children as well, a lot of friendly workers and also access to food and drinks.

Had a great time here. Very clean, organized, staff are nice enough, not too crowded and the animals look well cared for. The cats here look a bit disoriented possibly medicated. Went on Wednesday (free) but a little disappointed that parking was $20 lol. So worth it anyway

I can't say enough about this place! I loved it as a kid and I still love it now. Last time I was here was a few years ago, but the memories are still clear AND fond! Me and my girlfriend came here to enjoy all of the sight, sounds and took lots of photos of all the animals! I cannot wait to come back!

Very nice Zoo! You can tell that they really take care of the animals. Big and spacious with a lot of thing to do 🙌🏻 We went Wednesday with the free tickets but I'll recommend to go same day but pay $17.50 to enjoy the whole experience (Like Congo and Monorail)

We went to see the holiday lights! We had such a great time, especially making our own S'more! Wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes! Plan to walk a lot, but it's worth it!

This was our first time visit to this zoo during winter. It was an incredible experience!!The landscapes are beautiful. You can see peacocks freely roaming and relaxing in many places(which I thoroughly enjoyed). We also had an opportunity to watch the sea lion feeding show.Surprised to see few animals like giraffe, rhinos indoors. The cafeteria had vegan options including salads/ burrito bowl.Overall, our kids were delighted to spend time at the zoo and wish to see how it is during summer.I think you need at least 3 hours to visit the entire zoo.
