It’s open! And so wonderfully educational! Visit 18 colonial houses (almost all Built in the 1700s) set during the revolutionary period through the 1800s. We were able to see and talk to actors dressed as a printer, an English trained flint and lock musketeer, an American colonist-born rifle sharpshooter, gardeners, and so many more! Best part was it was free and attached to an awesome park. The very park where the first July 4 fireworks were shot off in 1778, two years after the Declaration of Independence was signed and right in the midst of the Revolutionary War. We also marched the parade grounds where George Washington marched the Continental Army. What a great experience! I highly recommend this historically accurate, educational, and free experience! Kudos to the county for providing this experience.

A must visit! We met the masonry guy and he was so cool. He let us work on making a hole in the stone. He showed us his work and it was impressive to see that skill not lost to time. A must visit a d it's free!! The shop had interesting candy pieces from different time periods.

I love this place. You should visit in the spring when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. I am descended from first settlers, which adds an extra dimension of interest. This is a treasure not only for local and state history, but national.

This is an amazing family-friendly site that is free and educational. The entire village is clean, well-kept and chock full of interesting learning experiences. The tour guides are all knowledgeable and kind. You can tell they love to discuss history and take the time to answer questions from adults and children. There are even actors/history enthusiasts who recreate experiences with musket demonstrations, camp cooking, blacksmithing and more. If you enjoy the study of history or want to learn more about New Jersey, this is the place.

This place is a real gem! The folks that volunteer their time in the buildings have such a passion for history and preservation. If you haven't been here, take the time to go and if you have, take your friends & go again!

What an awesome place! Bldgs and furnishings from the 1700s, some original, some replicas and you can walk in and out of them at your leisure or you can do their waking tour. The staff are very knowledgeable about their various characters crafts: blacksmith, stone mason ( the stone mason chiseled the gravestone I'm laying in front of as his first project) seamstress etc. I went with my daughter, son in law and granddaughter, an we had a great time. Do it.

This place is a gem! They have amazing events with lots of fun and educational activities. People there are the nicest. We live close and go there every other weekend. It is beautiful on every season. I am glad they recently started promoting this place, otherwise people don’t know about it. Highly recommend it to everyone and especially families with children.

Great place for adults and children. Historical interpreters are very knowledgeable about the time period and anxious to tell their stories, answer your questions and demonstrate their crafts or professions. Restorations are excellent. Many indoor and outdoor things to see. We've been there twice in the last year with grandchildren and will go back again. Thanks so much to their friendly staff.

What great place to spend a couple of hours. They have astone worker, wood worker and blacksmith. A few olds buildings to tour on your own or with a guide. I took my kids for about two hours and they had a really good time. And to make it even better... is all free! Definitely would recommend.

East Jersey Old Town Village is a great way to spend an afternoon, and it's totally free. They have historical interpreters in period dress demonstrating different trades from the 19th and 18th centuries, including blacksmithing, stonemasonry, cooking, printing, and brick making. There are sometimes revolutionary war reenactors on site as well. They're open on the weekends and their season lasts from April to October.
