Great museum for younger children. We visited and both children's wings were open. Arts and crafts for the older and interactive for the younger. Picnic table for lunch outside. Visited between Christmas and New Years.

Very cute museum! They have very welcoming staff. Children can find fossils, can color, and use their creativity with crafts. The main room is an inside playground. Everything was very nice. We will go back again!

Great place to bring the little ones! Specially on a rainy or cold day. Right now they have a holiday train display. There's a slide. A net to climb. A ship. A small tree house. A coloring area and a sandbox to "discover" fossils. Not super crowded. Recommend this.

What a quaint museum for a casual kids outing! The play area is so great for little kids under 6. But the best part hands down, is the surprise craft room!!! WOW..so clean and organized!! The kids get to use all the supplies and make their own piece of artwork for the price of the museum admission! If I lived closer I would be a volunteer hands down to the staff and whomever maintains and donates to the museum!!! LOVED

For kids primarily with two kids "galleries" which are really for play, education and discovery. There are 2 adult galleries.

First of all, they should rename it as a children's museum. Secondly, it is a far cry from the museum of Monmouth county history that it used to be. Now it’s just a children’s playground, and two rooms where they display the “art” of the attending art students. The old crones they have working there enforce these ridiculous rules basically walking around trying to govern how children play saying, “that’s not how you climb across a rope bridge!” Or, “don’t crawl that fast through the tunnel”…yeah…it’s that petty…as far as rules for adults are concerned, don’t bring a coffee or anything with you, they will quite literally RUN up to you and scold you that there is no drink allowed in the play area as if you’re about to start flinging it on the walls. The old bats need to be replaced with people who are socially competent and don’t speak to adults like children and don’t treat children like adults. They tell 18month-olds and 3 year-olds to be quiet on a playground and scold adults for absurd and petty things like where they are standing, helping their children down a slide, or across a rope bridge, and for taking a sip of water. Unreal…

First time there with grands. We all had an awesome experience. They had a miniature train setup with a whole bunch of mini stores and businesses from towns across Monmouth County. Really impressive.

Our first time here, and I have 2 kids ages 3 &2 and they had a lot of fun here. We played for almost 2 hours. There is a 2nd children's room but it is currently closed during weekdays. The building itself is beautiful and looking forward to going back.

Cool museum with a fun kids area you can easily kill an hour in. Small obstacle courses, boats, and coloring area were fun for the kids. Free military and BCC admissions

This museum is quiet and small, but it is a good place to visit for a reasonable price. Our babies had a fun time.

My kids had a great time going through the exhibits, which include a train display, and Egyptian mummy. The artwork is linked to an app, so you can hear the artist describe their work. The kids also got to play weather reporting and write their names in hieroglyphics. Very cool!

Very nice children’s museum including a beautiful indoor playground (it even has books) for kids 6 and below. There are two adult art exhibits, the indoor playground and in the back science and dinosaur exhibits, an art station and a small theatre full of toys. They also host birthday parties.

Love this place! Have a family membership, and it's a great rainy day activity with kids. Essentially an indoor playground (Wonder Wing) and a "please touch" museum (Becker Wing) for kiddos! Enthusiastic staff, and always adding new things to their program. Had my son's 5th birthday party here and it was a blast, all the kids loved it. Staff took care of everything! We just had to show up! Thanks again!!!

We hosted my son's 4th Birthday Party here today. The staff was incredibly friendly, easy going, and helpful. The children did not stop the action or smiles the entire visit. All the adults, even those there without kids, were comfortable and paid so many compliments. I normally throw parties at home and was unsure of doing a children's party at a children's venue, but it really was one for the record books. I never saw the non-stop smiles and fun on the kids faces like today! We are so grateful.

Nice place for kids with 4 main sections ( one for kids under 6 years old ) and then other places for soft craft and an innovation lab! We paid 14$ per person and we went at 12 and stayed till just before closing time ( it was Saturday and they close at 4:00pm) The kids really had so much fun!

Im a sahm & come to this museum pretty regularly with my daughter. I have a membership and it’s one of her favorite places to go bc she loves the dinosaurs and fish. Although I love the fact that we have this m so close to our home, I was pretty disappointed today when we learned that the dinosaur/ fossil wing and space exhibit are no longer open on weekdays - only on weekends & school holidays. The m is small so if you go on a weekday and you don’t have a membership, you will be paying $14 per person over 2 (used to be $12 before the summer), and not even get to fully experience the museum. I def recommend calling ahead of time. Otherwise it’s a fun museum for littles on the weekend.

It's great seeing artwork showcasing sewing. The old treadle sewing machine reminds me of my grandma's Singer tread mill machine. I remember when she tossed out the machine a man came and strapped it to his back and walked away.

Friendly staff, great exhibits, lots of fun for the kids and very clean! Someone else said this was a hidden gem and I can't agree more. We'll be back for sure! Thanks!!!

This museum is perfect for younger kids. During our visit, both children's sections were open and accessible. The older children enjoyed arts and crafts, while the younger ones were engaged in interactive exhibits. There was even a picnic table outside for an enjoyable lunch break. We visited in the interlude between Christmas and New Year's, and it was a delightful experience.

Fun place for kids up to 9 years old maybe, better for younger kids

  • 3/5 Amelia C. 9 months ago on Google
Very cute and super fun but I wish they would open at 10am every day and not just the weekends. Most kids who would love to go here nap in the afternoons and so coming here on a weekday is basically impossible. Seems pretty counterintuitive to have your hours of operation be the exact opposite of the needs of the majority of your target audience.

Great place to take the kids on a rainy day. They have an array of activities and hands on as well. Fun for all ages. They have two floors and two wings noting the fish tank room as we call it, is only open on Wednesdays. It is a bit if a walk from parking lot to entrance.

Great place. Definitely for toddler. I just didn't like they charged each person 10 it's small and adults should be cheaper

Wonderful place for 5 year old. FUN and Educational at same time. Staff were wonderful even though some patrons were not. We throughly enjoyed our visit.

Love this place. So fun for the kids. It’s seriously a place of beautiful craftsmanship, design, and planning. The play structures were clearly a labor of love. Check their fb for hours every week as they sometimes change to accommodate school trips, etc. I do wish they’d bring back more play kitchen food and the long strings the the kids loved walking through. Also please don’t expect the kids not to yell or run; they are children and they’re having fun! I’m thankful that they have reopened and have a nice craft area.

My family and I had a very poor experience with staff member Carolynn. Carolynn was unhelpful with adult questions stating “well aren’t you full of problems today”. Also very rude and vindictive to children under the age of 3. Very disappointed with our experience with this staff member. Other times we have visited the museum with our children we had a wonderful time but will most definitely not be paying $50 for our young children to receive hateful behavior from an adult. Will no longer be recommending to other families.
