Great place for kids, can interact with animals and feed them, free of charge. Take food for animals with you, baby carrots, lettuce or bread. Kids area include swings and sliders, kids liked it. Good for picnics, grilling and so. Grills and seats are available, free of charge. The lake view is amazing

Huge Park with nice spots for family picnics ! Very wide array of animals to see ! One raccoon, one baby fox, few deers, few goats, one peacock, few duck and ducklings and few chickens! In the front ! But if you go slight in front towards Highway you’ll be able to catch a few more !

We are going to this park for last many years. It is well mantained with 3 grove areas. It offers barbeque areas with picnic tables, a lake along with walking trail, a little animal haven zoo( which was not quite mantained and now they are moving animals to other animal havens for better care). It has large ground for soccer, football and cricket. Over all it has almost everything for everyone.

Loved this place since I was a kid. Played tennis here and had practices. Used the ponds for fishing (there's good size bass just gotta find what works). Nice place to relax and go for a walk.

Johnson Park is a nice destination for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. With its expansive grounds, separate jogging and running tracks, tennis courts, and dedicated kids' playing area, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The park's picturesque location near the river enhances its charm, while the well-maintained landscaping adds to the ambiance. Visitors can take advantage of numerous picnic areas, some available for reservation and others on a first-come, first-served basis. However, it's worth noting that the little zoo within the park has been damaged by the flooding and is currently undergoing restoration. Despite this setback, Johnson Park remains a delightful spot for recreation and relaxation.

This is the best park in central new jersey. Cool calm green sorrounding. It has small open/free zoo section, which is very good for kids. Can buy stuffs to feed the animals, mostly farm animals. It has a nice trail excellent of cycling. Abundent parking. Many grooves for picnic and party. All grooves you need to book in advance, but there are some open/free spaces too for unplanned family pucnic :)

One of the nicest park in the surroundings.. Johnson Park is a public park located in Piscataway, New Jersey. It is a popular recreational area that offers various amenities and activities for visitors. The park features walking paths, picnic areas, a beautiful lake, tennis courts, a playground, and a small zoo called the Johnson Park Zoo. It's a great place to enjoy nature, have a picnic, or engage in outdoor activities.

I don't understand why they took away the zoo. It's nice for a walk on the trail, and there are bathrooms. I used to feed the animals white wonder bread or shoprite brand, whatever cost less, but got yelled at once by a random park go-er, who said the animals are herbivores and shouldn't eat bread. I had been feeding the animals that bread regularly for 30 years. And they didn't just all like the bread, they would fight over the bread! Like they were starved for the bread! The deer, the rams, the ducks, the peacock - they all liked the bread. Not sure where they took the animals. I used to see others try to feed them carrots or corn chips or any other random people food, and they liked the bread best. It was a fun childhood past-time to visit. And as an adult, I realize how much these public parks are so good for the community. We do need good clean parks with trails and zoos for exercise and entertainment. So appreciative for these things. Do we need to call PETA? Where have they taken the animals to? I hope they're in a better place.

Nice atmosphere and lots of space. I like that there were several bbq grills throughout and the mini zoo was nice as well.

I take my daily walks in this park. Nice and peaceful. Love watching the different animals. If you're lucky, you'll see the Eagle family that lives there. Some mornings, I also see the Rutgers row team practicing on the Raritan River.

Biiiggg park. Big fields. Some local soccer tournaments held here. Has a tennis court. Lots of parking spaces. Has restrooms. Can have a party in groves. Groves are locations with tables, benches and barbecue grills. Some groves require payment and reservations. Some are first come first reserve basis. With this park, one can enjoy hiking, running and biking. Some water reservoirs in the area that are fed by the Raritan river (?) especially when it's high tide. There decks on these reservoirs. Farm animals are a big attractions for kids here. The animals are behind chain link fence and can be fed with carrots, vegetables etc brought by oneself. Or can purchase feeds here. 2 playgrounds with soft landings.

The park use to be beautiful back in the day because of the animals. Animals ARE my sanctuary I love them more than people most of the time. I noticed that a lot of animals are not there anymore like the rabbits, pig's, Pekin ducks etc. I hope they're ok because people do DUMB things like feed herbivores meats and candy. I no I'm guilty for giving them scrap's but never meat and candy. Now that I have pet's of my own, I give them food from the Farmers Market since the produce are cheaper.

We are Ministers/ Wedding Officiants at Kimberlys Blessings, & have celebrated Micro weddings at this lovely place. We have found the grounds to be beautiful, with a very nice, spacious Gazebo. Highly recommended. Let us know if you have any questions about Your wedding and this Memorable place for Micro Weddings or Elopements, or if we can be of further assistance. (Please check with Park Officials ahead of time if a permit is needed for your size Wedding or Elopement.)

This is my go-to big park because I have fond memories of the animals when I was little. It still holds up as a nice place to sit, walk, bike, or picnic but sadly, no more animals 😔

Johnson Park is fantastic! They have a small zoo with goats and deer and horses that you can feed, as well as several other animals...llamas/alpacas, warthogs, pigs, fox, peacock. They have a nice strip of water with spouts that are relaxing to watch. There are fish and turtles. Lots of sidewalks to walk or run.

We went there with 10 families for mother's day picnic. This is an "open" Grove which means it can't be booked. All the bookable ones were booked already. There are enough bench groups for people to sit and enough greenery for kids to run around and enough shade for the adults to relax or read a book. Stayed for 3 hours. Had a gala time. Then went to the nearby kids park before going home.

Had my family reunion cook out there. Perfect space for games, races and plenty of shaded seating. The playground was also a hit for our little people! And clean!
