This place is atrocious from the food to the service. The only positive thing about this place is the ambience. It is a good looking spot. We ordered the chirashi, foxy lady roll, dragon roll, Indian pancake, rock shrimp tempura, and pear martinis. The rock shrimp was tasty though the Indian pancake was too thick for my liking. The rolls were palatable.  They were drenched in sauce and other accoutrements to mask the quality of the fish. The chirashi dish is not a true chirashi.  It's just sashimi on one side and regular rice on the other. The fish quality is horrible. The sashimi is gummy and soft. That purple looking thing on the upper right-hand corner is tuna.  It is not a filter, it was that deep purple color. It seems to have been cut from the bloodline and served.  I’ve never been served tuna that horrible even at low rated sushi spots. Service is lacking. My gf orders her second drink as she enjoyed the first. The 2nd drink was sour and thick. I tasted it and it was rank, like it was mixed with grapefruit or something sour.  We informed the waiter of this and he said “Yup that’s your drink. I’ll check if you want.” He came back and snarkily replied “that’s your drink.” There was something definitely wrong with the drink.  If you look at the picture posted, the drink is pulpy, viscous, and was too sour to enjoy. The waiter made no offer to replace the drink.  Awful customer service. Overall, this place sucks.

People dont go to this place, SINCERELY SAYING! Its very overpriced for its decor and they have the worst quality sushi, with no stuffing but just low quality tempura batter which is so hard to chew. They didn’t even give chopsticks for to go order. Gave little to no soy sauce with shumai. The disrespectful part was when I reached my hand to take my to go order and she pulled back saying pay first as if I’m gona run. Atleast dont waste your money and gas on a food like this. Also, asked for up charge just for eel sauce I WANT REFUND

We were at Aja Asian cuisine for dinner. The food was okayish but I am very dissatisfied with the quantity of meat they had served on all the dishes. To start with I ordered my favorite fried calamari which is my common pick at all the restaurants. Surprisingly at Aja this dish had more salad leaves than the calamari. There were hardly 8-10 small calamari pieces. For main course I ordered stir-fried Japanese udon chicken noodles. And yet again to my disappointment there was hardly any chicken in the dish. It was just the noodles and few veggies. On top of it I had also ordered a glass of sake which was priced to $7 in the menu but in the bill they charged it for $9. We brought this up to our server and she said the prices were not updated in the menu. Overall I didn’t have a great experience at Aja Asian Cuisine and would not recommend this place.

Love the setup . It is a great lounge - just not busy enough. Sushi was fresh. Food presentation was on the spot. Drinks could be stronger. Good selection of drinks and menu. Would visit again.

Had a lovely dinner. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was relatively quiet. The food was delicious . Decoration was really good. Decor was beautiful and really fit the theme. Also loved the radio/soundtrack with chill dance music. Service is lacking. I ordered the second drink as i enjoyed the first. The 2nd drink was sweet and very lighter than 1st..this was really unacceptable... I tasted it, and it was rank, like it was mixed with grapefruit or something, .. Prices are $.. Free parking lot.

I've been coming here for more than 6 years and the food has never disappointed. Quality of sushi here is fresh and is usually fresh every visit. Service depends on the time and day you're coming because of their busy hours, but recently it's overall gotten faster. Atmosphere is relaxing and perfect for family or couple dinners. It's different from other restaurants I've been in but the whole place feels like a fancy lounge. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone, even their other dishes(not sushi) are amazing.

Our server Caleb was outstanding! We just left after having our Rutgers Graduation celebration with friends and family at Asa. The food and service was amazing! Our whole party LOVED their meals and drinks. We highly recommend!

I love the atmosphere here! I went in the middle of the day so it wasn't busy and the service was good. I ordered a purple haze which i really enjoyed and the hibachi dinner. Most of what I got was good, but the fried rice was a little disappointing. I plan to come back with friends in the near future.

The ambience of Aja is something out of a movie, amazing atmosphere. The food is a little on the price side, but it justifies it. The appetizers here are the star of the show in my opinion, the ribs especially are to die for. I had the ramen and my girlfriend had the sushi, both slightly above average in taste. The drinks are good but expensive. This is a great place for a date.

The food was delicious. My drink was pretty strong. My partner and I felt really comfortable here. The decor was beautiful. I wish my spicy noodles had more chilli thought it was spicy! The flavor of our sushi was also good. I would reccommend it and come back again.

Super cool atmosphere, food was pretty good, service was decent. Some things felt dated and like they could be upgraded, the red chairs and menus looked rough. My girlfriend and I went for a late Valentine’s day dinner and had a great time. We’ll definitely go back. There also has to be some lore about this place somewhere…

Good food and best deal during lunch .. liked their combo of sushi and Chinese dishes .. had pretty good fried rice too .. too much quantity in the bento box during lunch

The atmosphere and the ambience at this restaurant is amazing. The choice of music was also spectacular. The staff were really friendly and had good service. The only thing that is lacking is the quality of the food and the price. I ordered Tonkotsu ramen and sushi - It tasted decent/mediocre, but the price is pretty high for just decent quality food.

The atmosphere is very cool and our server was super nice but the food was bad. I ordered two sushi rolls one was $25 and the other was $18 and I don’t think there was a single piece of fish on either of them, I couldn’t believe it. For almost $50 I expect a lot more. I don’t recommend, there are a lot of good sushi places in the area for much better prices and higher quality meals

I absolutely loved eating at this restaurant. Yesterday was my first time and everything was super delicious and fresh. The atmosphere is modern and peaceful. Definitely going back.

First visit. We samples the calamari, crispy duck salad, tangerine beef, hot and sour soup, and the wonton soup. Everything was delicious. Well prepared and high quality. We feel confident in trying the sashimi and sushi next time. Great drink options, too. Very pleasantly surprised. Live the decor and the service was fantastic.

I will never eat here again my food was literally old it looked like leftovers recooked you can clearly see the shrimp is not fresh. It literally made me vomit sorry for the TMI but I’m very upset my stomach hurts

We ordered to pick up but it was really late (22:40 and they close at 23:30) and when we arrived our order hadn't gone through to the restaurant. But they went out of their way to contact the ordering service and managed to receive the order and make it at literally last minute before closing. The sushi was amazing. I went to Japan previously and it reminded me of some good times. But the service was phenomenal even though it was such a simple gesture their attitude towards us said a lot. They care. You don't see that a lot these days especially when a business is about to close. Although the place was empty by the time we arrived, I could tell the atmosphere is superb. The decor is so cool and the vibes it gives off make you feel like you're really in someplace in eastern Asia. Also reminded me of some places I visited while in Japan. Overall 5 stars, I will definitely visit this place to dine in and stay a while. They have Sapporo on tap!!! On tap!! Gotta try it and find out if it's the same as in Japan.

Very pleased with everything tonight! Was there for a faculty dinner and had one of our faculty just rave about the place as it was one of their favorites. We all highly enjoyed our meal. The duck roll appetizer was amazing as was my red curry. It had quite a bit of chicken in it. More than some of the previous reviews had mentioned. Another faculty member had some of the sushi which they enjoyed greatly and the chicken hibachi was also enjoyed by another. Overall everything was excellent as was the service.

This place is underrated but it’s so good. The food is fantastic, the presentation is excellent and service is quick. Only thing they want to do is update exterior and put more lighting. The price is good as well.

I love the atmosphere. After a full day of work, it was a very nice, relaxing way to unwind. The food was amazing. I ordered the Mango Chicken, and it was the perfect mix of sweet with just a hint of spice from the red chilli. The portions were generous, but not ridiculously large, and the presentation was well done. I'm only surprised the restaurant was not crowded, even though it was a Tuesday.

We liked the red curry with prawns and pad Thai. The restaurant was empty when we visited (Friday afternoon around 3pm).

Love this place. It's never busy when I go for lunch. I dunno how it gets at night never been. The food is priced to the atmosphere but the food is fine nothing crazy. But I'll keep coming back for great fast service
