I was really excited to order from here and soooo excited to eat a salmon salad. The juicy piece of salmon depicted on the menu really sold me, even though $15.00 is a little pricey for a salad. What I received was SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT. The salmon on the salad was that packaged/canned tuna-like salmon. Super gross! Response to owner: I ordered on doordash from the Piscataway location but, since the order wasn't picked up until after their closing time, I assume that the order was fulfilled by east Brunswick. Since I can't be sure, I left the review on both. I have added a photos of the image you advertise and the salmon I received to show the problem. As you can see, the image that is advertised looks nothing like the salad I received. $15.00 for a salad that has these tiny little pieces of salmon is borderline thievery.

This place used to be better but not so good now. I was told delivery will be in 45 minutes but waited for over an hour, then I was told there was a big catering order so the wait will be another half hour or more. OK no biggie I picked it up. Found old lettuce and overall unappealing salad, picture attached not sure if you can see how dead the grass looks. Shakes were just meh, really watered down or something I couldn't tell. Second time I got a subpar salad hence the review.

I used to get Art of Salad for lunch at least twice a week before covid as it's very close to my office. In the past year or so, the quality has gone way downhill. Everything is flavorless, and the salad greens are always well past freshness. Yesterday, I had a salad delivered, and the greens were completely wilted and nearly inedible. This is the second time this restaurant has made me sick.

I got a salad at the East Brunswick store and the thermostat in there said 90! The workers were sweating and I asked about the air and one responded that they have to air conditioning. How is that even not a health issue with food being in 90 degrees. Definitely don’t go there in the summer unless your not afraid of getting sick. Manager was telling the girls to stop standing around while she was in the back looking for the salad choppers, so rude when customers are in there how embarrassing.

This establishment has inadequate a/c system and honestly has a very lazy owner who constantly makes excuses as to why the a/c no longer works. As a customer it’s awful but I cannot even imagine what the working conditions are like for employees. If the owner truly cares for his “small business” as he claims then he should look into more positive conditions for customers and workers. For a small business that charges 20 dollars for salmon and receives decent patronage, they should have some sort of funds to put into an functioning air conditioner. That type of hot environment is a breeding ground for mold and rotten products. I suggest if you do not want spoiled food to not pay any patronage to art of salad until they have more positive conditions.

Won't be going back here. Almost certain that its gotta be under new ownership. The guy (maybe owner or manager atleast) used to be around more and the recent changes are horrible for the consumer on all fronts except 1. I have been going to this place for almost a decade now, because Ive always had a atleast pretty good experience. The people were nice and although a bit pricey, wasnt so bad, and everything always tasted great with generous amounts at times. Id bump it up half a star if I could so 2.5, but I was turned off regardless. I worked in the restaurant industry for 11 years starting from the bottom, so I understand price increases and costs of stuff going sometimes way up, but there was more inconvenience to the guest here than many places. Ill make this easy with pros and cons. Pros: - Salad is still pretty good. Everything tastes fresh still and they have no problem chopping it up as much as you ask which is always nice. - They still give water cups if asked, albeit not as good (more in con). - Rewards program is better now as its per $1.25 spent, not per visit. Cons: - Price is now way too much. Price at this place has always been creeping and yes I havent been here in a bit since moving but I went back today and I was like woah, $14 for a one size salad. Filling yes but pricey. - Every extra topping is $.75. For a small scoop of whatever? Thats a bit much, and you get a bit less per scoop in general - Theyll give water cups but intentionally you dont get ice with it. This never used to be an issue. I'd ask for a water cup and they'd ask ice? I'd say yes and i'd get a cold cup of water. - Utensils aren't out anymore which is...whatever not a break it situation just a bit less convenient but the worst part is, instead of the sturdy clear plastic utensils you'd receive, now you get really flimsy forks for example. 2 of the prongs on my fork kept bending in the salad, couldnt hold much and stabbed my tongue twice. I hate complaining about this because its only a fork but it was stupidly annoying. - The vibe is no longer relaxed and chill at all. It just seems like a plain place with people who just want money, little to no music and interaction b.w people is bare. Just feels less bright. Music rly makes a difference. - Less dressing varieties. - Biggest culprit (to me)...You are paying $14 for a salad now, with obvious cost cutting tricks throughout the whole experience which...I do understand, buttt, given all that, now you no longer offer the tiny triangle piece of pita bread with the salads. Come on. Thats absolutely ridiculous. It was small, but such a nice thing to be asked if you wanted. When asked, I was told "we dont do that anymore". Thats a new kind of cheap. Summation/conclusion: - Obviously theres new ownership or management somewhere because while salad is still good overall, I cant complain about that, and there's a better rewards system in place...the overall experience as a whole is no longer worth the price and screams "cost savings". So, I hate to say that a guest of about a decade, maybe more (?), will no longer be going back which is disheartening as I legit used to brag about this place to people as the best salad place around. 😑😔😔

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING! I ordered the Harvest Salad today, and it was nothing like a salad! It was more like a bowl of overly chopped soggy and wilted lettuce mixed with a generous amount of toppings. You couldn’t even eat it with a fork! It was so soupy like you needed a spoon to eat it! They give you cheap forks that can’t even pick up anything in the salad bowl! I wouldn’t call this a salad at all! The chicken in the so called salad tasted like it been sitting around all day! The salads don’t even come with a small piece of bread, and they don’t even sell any bread for additional charge! The reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they give you a generous amount of toppings for the price. I Don’t recommend coming here!

Love this place! It's a salad place, so it's a bit overpriced, but the food is awesome. They have the absolute BEST blue cheese dressing!!!! I don't know if they make it in-house, but I freaking love it!

Went to the Long Branch one and this one. Both are horrible. Got the autumn harvest salad. I once again felt sick from the food here. Took one bite and it was the same. Seems like this business does not care about quality or service. Owner cursed me out because of an honest review of their restaurant. They used profanity and called me, "Gordon Ramsey". Frankly, they should be on kitchen nightmares. Their dishes are nightmares and their owner is delusional. Their name is Bobby. I have never seen such a terrible place before. Stay away YOU WILL GET SICK. Everything is inedible. I wonder if even the sad looking staff that give mobile orders a priority eat there. This place is a health risk!

Wilted lettuce. The lettuce smells rotten, it’s brown. 4 times in a row this has happened to my co workers and I. Never will order again. My co-worker is now ill from the food. It’s disgusting. Saving rotten produce to cut costs is also disgusting.

Ordered a chopped salad with chicken and balsamic dressing. Salad wasn't chopped, got no chicken, got no dressing. Since I wasn't at home, had to drive to grocery store and buy a bottle of dressing. AND for my inconvenience I got to pay $16 for a tub of lettuce . I'd recommend going elsewhere as this place is NOT good.

Art of salad has great food but they no longer deliver. They used to deliver in house but now you have to subscribe to a delivery service which I'm not doing. I only get a 30 min lunch break and they forgot to add avocado to my cobb salad so I had to go back which made it difficult. They made it up to me and did remake my salads. Again, great food but it's too much of an inconvenience for us to place lunch orders at work.

Keeping it short. Got a salad and it was dressed (even though I selected “balsamic, “on the side”) in something like a watery lemon juice and oil mix. Very strange, very off putting. Check your order if you’re doing takeout so it can be fixed on the spot.

This location does not honor the hours on the website. It clearly states the establishment closes at 8pmEST. It is 7:27pm with 1 customer inside I am standing outside and the door is closed. Is this a personal decision to close before the time shown on the website? Like come on! I realize this location doesn't get a lot of traffic but for those who work until 6-6:30 it would be nice to have a healthy dinner. This location constantly disappoints.

Cute place! Salads are tasty! Menu has allergy friendly options. Cross contamination can happen, being the salad mix- ins are close together. I go few times a month.

Drove 20 mins out to try this place and was truly disappointed. I was served old soggy lettuce & I couldn’t even taste the dressing. Definitely not worth $30 or the drive, I’ve had better salads, Panera bread has better salads.

The food was amazing! The thing is that I ordered at 5:00 for delivery. Doordasher never picked up the food. She texts me at 7:30 asking where the restaurant is. This is unacceptable on the part of the restaurant, the driver and Chownow (the third party). I tried to get my delivery fee and tip back from the restaurant. They said we need to go through Chownow, who never pick up the phone. We called several times between 6 and 7:30 with no one picking up the phone. I went to go pick it up and while I was out my wife finally got through. It was such a hassle. Never again.

I got delivery one night and then went to the store for take out a few days after. Their falafel and tzatziki sauce is fantastic. The buffalo chicken salad has delivered wasn’t actually buffalo, just plain chicken. At the store I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with cranberries and walnuts. No walnuts or cranberries on mine. They obviously have an issue with consistency. The employees there are not friendly at all. They definitely do not want to be there. I won’t be back.

I’ve been with this place from the opening. The BEST salad restaurant I’ve been to by far, not a “cookie cutter chain”, lots of variety and choices and a good value. Highly recommend them!

Please make sure the bag is stapled and taped when delivering through Uber eats and grubhub. I want to trust my food was not tampered with. A single staple in a full bag never holds over.. Salads are great otherwise

Wish the quality of lettuce was better in the salad I ordered. I would expect the lettuce would be fresh and not wilted and turning yellow. :( The other ingredients in my salad were great; but difficult to enjoy with a not-so-great Romaine base. Hoping for a better experience next time I order!

I used to come here twice a week. I just stopped in and learned they don’t even give the small piece of bread for a 15 dollar salad. Every other comparable establishment still gives bread or pita. I’ll go elsewhere next time for the price.

Just Ordered and received through Door Dash. Food was so good and fresh I had to call and tell them! The manager Sam was amazing and our entire order was fresh , expertly prepared and packaged and delicious! Will definitely be returning!

Food consistently good. Was disappointed with the salad they no longer offer the small wedge of the pita. Also bring back the 10% discount if you have a health membership. Prices slowly creeping up and offering less. I think you might find those incentives will bring you overall more business. 😊

My first time at the location. I ordered the special, Tahini Caesar salad. Although the falafel was flavorful and crispy, the romaine lettuce was old, oxidized (red), and wilted. The tahini dressing was flavorless and gloppy. I had been intrigued by the description of the salad on the specials board but was disappointed by the execution. It wasn't worth eating, so I didn't. With poor quality of the main ingredient of salad, the lettuce, and lack of taste in the dressing, the money I spent for the meal was waste. During the chopping process of the salad ingredients, chunks of food were flying out of the bowl, which is not appetizing. Another customer complained about the amount of the ingredients that were being lost during chopping and asked to have that amount replaced with fresh ingredients. I think they should consider improving their practices and quality control.

Crazy stingy on the protein - almost no chicken or tofu in our salads which together cost $38. Any pizza place or diner in the area will give you more bang for your buck, which is ironic because salads aren't their selling point. Nice dressings, though.

Friendly staff and delicious salads. Not a fan of using the app as it tends to be pricier to make adjustments to some of the signature salads and no way to comment about less/extra portions. I go here way too frequent for my budget but it's tasty and the portions are good.

$13 for the turkey & avocado BLT is more like I wish I had turkey and avocado on my sandwich. 1 piece of turkey and a crumb of avocado w/ the cheapest bacon that is pure fat. I gave this place so many chances and keep ordering. It’s always a hit or miss and usually a miss it’s unfortunate bc I really like the sandwich when it is made the proper way.

First time visiting for myself and my friend. Not impressed. My soup was cold and it came right out of the warmer. My friend's grilled cheese sandwich was also cold. I'll give this place one more chance with your salads. If that's not on point not rushing to come back. 🤷
