Nice atmosphere, good service. But the food was up to my expectations😓.. thought it would've been better than usual but my veal dish had a very bland taste , too much flour and my girlfriends chicken franchase lacked ....the lemon flavor she expected. Must've been a bad night in the kitchen. Maybe next time it'll be better. If there's a next time, we shall see. Oh the coffee liquor drinks were fantastic though.

It's a tight noisy place so it's not for romantic or an intimate dinning experience. That being said it's great to get coworkers together and get loud! The appetizers were good and the sangria lived up to it's reputation. However 2 out of the 3 courses ordered had issues. The surf and turf... Lobster burned on top and over-cooked. The filet was charred where all you tasted was carbon. I sent it back and the waiter told me "that is how it comes out as it is a charcoal grill (nonsense the fire was too hot as they probably dropped too much charcoal and therefore overheated grill will burn anything before it is cooked inside). The steak Portuguese had a great sauce however the steak was again over-cooked and tough. The service was excellent as they had a waitstaff of close to ten waiting on you hand and foot so I tipped them well as they deserved it. It was a very busy night but you do it right or get a review such as this. Picture to prove what I reviewed.

The food was excellent. I highly recommend the banquet room for parties of 80 people. Very roomy, able to have a 2 piece live music. Service was wonderful.

Back in November of 2019, we designed a sweet 16 at the Ria Mar. The Ria Mar never fails as one of our go to venues. The staff are so helpful with anything we need. We were able to beautifully execute the glitz and glam sweet 16 for the birthday girl. The ambiance here is always on point. UPDATED- May of 2021, we designed and coordinated a Hollywood Themed Wedding at the Ria Mar. Initially the couples ceremony was to happen at a park gazebo. We had set everything up, purchased tarps as the wind and rain did not ease. But unfortunately it just couldn't happen. We called the Ria Mar and asked if there was any way we could move the ceremony into the downstairs ballroom and by the Grace of God, there were no other parties happening so we were able to have the ceremony there. The staff was so helpful as we were on a time crunch. We had the ceremony to set up as well as the reception which was being held in the main ballroom. We were also permitted to set up a backdrop in the foyer which really tied everything together. We are so thankful so have such an accommodating venue right here in our home town.

Friendly staff .good sangría. Amazing food . We had the pulled skirt steak , delicious and the véal meatloaf . House dessert was wonderful . Good value

Service was right on, we used the small room very nice for a large family dinner. Drinks and appetizers were fabulous. The seafood dishes were delicious 😋. I can't recommend their steaks are tough. I would recommend this restaurant for any other dishes. Truly incredible.

Great place. There is a banquet hall / restaurant. And a bar area that serves food and is more fancy than a typical "bar". Free wifi. Daily specials. Great service. Delicious food. Good pours. Everything here is excellent. I'll definitely return! The class in garlic were 🥰 perfect.

It was just “meh”. Food was just ok - I had the Bronzino- it was a bit tough and not a lot of flavor…broccoli rabe wasn’t that good… almost tasted like freezer burn. My mom had the shrimp with yellow rice- it was good but mostly rice - very few shrimp. Service was fine. Plenty of other really great restaurants. Wouldn’t bother going back.

i've hosted many events, yesterday was a baptism with about 25 people they all were so happy with the food and the timing of everything and the service of the guys that were helping the event. Those guys were absolutely amazing! so extremely patient and helped with the centerpieces too (they were vases with water- needed to be filled and drained at the end) the whole event went so smooth and so perfect because of them. I've been going to Ria Mar for many years it never fails, EVER. Thanks again for an amazing event with amazing service. Simply the best and I hope this helps anyone who is looking to book something. 10.16.2022

Food was really delicious. My family enjoyed everything we ordered. The portions were generous and could definitely be shared. Service was great. Prices were very affordable. Would definitely recommend this restaurant

Always a fantastic meal. We drive an hour each way to eat here. Of the several Portuguese restaurants in the area, this is the best. It's better than trekking all the way to the ironbound district of Elizabeth. If you have the itch for Portuguese go see Paul and staff. You will be pleased!

I'm not surprised to see other reviews commenting on how bland the food is here. Service is always top notch, the atmosphere is great, but the food has been mediocre at best the last two times I was here.

Excellent meal! Highly recommended the Shrimp in Garlic Sauce appetizer. Veal Ria Mar was awesome too.

I've given this place a try more than once and I never quite understand any of the hype. The food is always bland and insultingly overpriced. The restaurant tries to give off a "fancy" atmosphere but that just feels like an excuse to mark-up the price of the food. If all you care about is a fancy atmosphere, go ahead and come here because you won't find anything special about the food. At my most recent visit, I think our waiter also referred to me in a rather disrespectful way. Admittedly I may have misheard him, but it did not help my already poor opinion on this restaurant.

My dinner didn't have much flavor. The rice was bland and the seafood was fresh but needed something 😩. My hubby had the fried combo served with drawn butter n no cocktail or tarter sauce so he didn't love it..only liked it. Sangria and chocolate martini were very good 👍. Won't be going back. There was a hole in our bench seat as well.

Great place food was tasty lunch portions were big and priced well!

The service was excellent and so was the food. Also, loved the dessert. Definitely recommend.

food is always on point, the same great is sold by glass, half pitcher, or full and is amazing, crackTasTic. my favorite dishes are seafood paella and crab stuffed flounder

You can find great selection of steaks, seafood and everything in between. Sangria is always a must if you are into that kind of stuff. Try to make reservations if you can. Place can be really packed at times so wait times are long.
