Great local sushi joint. Have been coming here for years.

For the price and the quality, this place can’t be beat! For the appetizers, I would recommend the tuna dumplings or the dragon egg! Both are so creative, unlike anything I have tried at other sushi places, and so delicious too. With the rolls, you pretty much can’t go wrong with anything, but if you want to try something different, I suggest the galaxy sashimi roll, another that I have yet to try anywhere else! As a long time customer from their previous location, this upgrade is great! And what I love most is that the service hasn’t changed, it’s still great, and it always makes you feel like home. P.S. it’s byob and there’s a great liquor store next door with an extensive wine collection, so enjoy!

Sushi was fresh. Chicken teriyaki bento box was very tasty. It was nice to see that the chicken was actually grilled and not boiled like many other places.

A review on here says it’s all you can eat, that is not true. The service is good, and the food is amazing. The freshest sushi I have had in a VERY long time. I highly recommend this place for authentic, well prepared and presented sushi.

Such a quaint little restaurant nestled in the ShopRite shopping center in East Brunswick, NJ. I have not eaten inside the restaurant yet, as we've ordered takeout while my daughters are in gymnastics close by. The restaurant is clean, updated, and has a fun vibe. It is also BYOB, which is nice. The sushi is very fresh and they have an extensive menu ranging from soups, appetizers, salads, and vast arrays of sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls as well as teriyaki, donburi, noodles, tempura & katsu, bento boxes, lunch specials, udon, and hibachi entrees. So far, we have tried the rainbow rolls, salmon & avocado, sweet heart roll, sumo roll, and california roll. There is definitely a little something for everyone. Most dishes are served with sesame seeds, so I would definitely specify no sesame seeds if this is something you prefer not to have. They are currently closed on Monday's, but open for lunch and dinner the rest of the week. Sundays, they are open most of the day, while Tuesday through Saturday, they are briefly closed from 3pm reopening at 4pm. We definitely look forward to sampling the rest of the menu. Everything we have tried so far has been delicious.

Both my husband and I are "sushi snobs" and typically eat at the higher end sushi restaurants. Last week we gave this place a try after hearing some great things about it. We were very happy with the sushi along with all else we tried. Everything tasted fresh and very reasonably priced. Thanks for a great meal. We will be back!

Absolutely love this place. The service, the quality and the value is great. Really a hidden Gem. One of the best in the neighborhood! Let the pictures speak the the quality.

Best hibachi in the area. Today was my moms birthday and we had to order in. we ordered a few different dinners. Chicken, salmon, chicken and shrimp. they were all great. The next time i’m craving hibachi i’ll be sure to stop by and try the steak. We ordered sushi as well which was very fresh.

Food is very good. I’ve been eating at this restaurant since they opened over 10 years ago and their restaurant was located inside the Hong Kong Supermarket. I think they made a mistake on my order today though. I ordered a Yaki Soba with no vegetables, and add extra crabmeat, but when I got home and opened it, there was no chicken either, so I think there was a misunderstanding as this is what I always get. Anyways food is always good. Minor mistake, still give them 5 stars.

Loved loved the food items we ordered. The sushi and shrimp teriyaki were delicious and tasted fresh. Very good quality food and clean. Food came quickly Ans service was very pleasant.

Been coming here since I was about 8 yrs old and their sushi shop had been one of the best I have experienced in my town. I personally love sushi and if you want AMAZING, and FRESH quality sushi, this is the place to go. They make the best Bento Boxes with their crispy authentic tempura shrimp or their freshly made salmon Teriyaki. If want to do Take Out it is great too! Reasonably priced for what they serve. And also the atmosphere is small but has a good warm feeling with their sushi shop, makes you feel at home. Service is great :) . And I highly recommend it you to experience to sit down and have a good lunch, or dinner with your loved ones, your date, or even your family!

Our family go here quite often for a good lunch. It offers bento lunch on weekdays and Sundays. The prices are very cheap comparing to a lot of Japanese restaurant (note: the owner is not Japanese). The food is tasty and filling. The restaurant has been around as long as I can remember so it has it's own regulars.

I ordered the Bento Box Special. Chicken Teriyaki. Everything was delicious in flavors and fresh taste. Big portions and friendly waitress. The inside is very peaceful atmosphere place to eat as well. Highly recommend. I will be going back again before leaving New Jersey.

No complaints. Good was good, staff very nice. Has a bit of a commercial take out place vs. warm traditional Japanese restaurant, but don't let that stop you from eating here!

Great place for sushi, hot items and byo

The sushi is fresh and incredible. The service is quick. The only con is that they use solo cups and refills on drinks don't happen in a timely fashion. I definitely highly recommend this place

East Hana is a tried-and-true East Brunswick sushi joint. While this might not be the sushi spot that's going to knock your socks off or have you raving about it to your friends, what East Hana offers is extremely reasonable pricing and consistently decent quality sushi. For those who lived and grew up in the East Brunswick area, this is the same company that was operating out of the old Hong Kong Supermarket for ages. They've upgraded their venue as well as their offerings. I highly recommend giving them a try if you're looking for a quick sushi fix without breaking the bank.

I visited East Hana Sushi for the first time in the first month of their opening almost 3 years ago. All the food at East Hana Sushi is always delicious and fresh, it's one of my favorite places in East Brunswick. The service staff is excellent - friendly and attentive. Restroom is clean. I'm dismayed to leave this 1-star review for East Hana Sushi. My recent experience there was far from the standard one would expect from a reputable sushi restaurant. The servers did not show any effort to go above and beyond their basic duties. Merely bringing food to the table is a fundamental task, not something that warrants special appreciation in the form of a tip. However, what truly marred the experience was the staff's approach to soliciting tips. They resorted to publicly embarrassing customers, loudly calling out for tips in front of friends and other patrons. This tactic is not only unprofessional but also disrespectful, making customers feel small and uncomfortable. Good service is about adding value to the dining experience. It could be as simple as offering to wrap up leftovers for take-home, engaging in friendly conversation, providing insights about the menu, or even a brief tutorial on using chopsticks for those interested. These gestures make a dining experience memorable and tip-worthy. Sadly, East Hana Sushi misses the mark on understanding the essence of good service. My advice to them: if you expect a tip, strive to earn it by enhancing the customer's experience. As it stands, I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are plenty of other sushi places where the staff understand and respect the nuances of quality service.

Never a bad experience in the past 5+ years I've been visiting this place. This has undoubtedly become our go to family place for sushi! This time we did pick up but the order was perfect without any issues! (Gave a 5 star for atmosphere because it's a nice, tidy place with plenty of parking).
