We were looking for a late night spot to eat on Rt 1. Most places had closed around 10 or stopped serving. We lucked out here. It was great. Prepare to eat a lot of food if you order an entree. I had the pork chops! Great! The coffee was also great for the ride home. Try it out and enjoy. Also side note, look at that bread basket... So good! Hope you enjoy.

Really enjoyed our first visit to Edison Diner. We were a group of 4. 3 of us got Lunch, 1 got Breakfast. Everything was delicious. I have one minor complaint about the French Onion Soup, though. It definitely needed more salt, as it tasted a bit bland. The service was great, food came out at a very reasonable pace. Beware of the menu, it's a LOT to look at!

We have been there 2 times in the past 2 weeks and everything was really good. Clean, friendly place. Wait time wasn't very long at all and service was also good as well. The food is well cooked and tasty, its also not very costly at all.

Server was nice, prompt and helpful. Food was good. I got a Reuben sandwich and I liked that the dressing came on the side. It kept the bread from getting soggy and I could add extra if I wanted. It was a delicious sandwich with a yummy bowl of coleslaw and a pickle. My partner got the gyro and it came with a delicious Greek salad. Our friends got fish and chips and a burger. All said their food was good.

Pretty standard diner fare, in a nice clean restaurant, with quick service. I mean the food came out super fast, probably within less than 10 minutes of ordering. The menu is huge, with photos of nearly every item, it's a bit overwhelming. The spinach and feta omelet wasn't bad, and the home fries nice and crispy on the edges. Great place to soak up some booze, or nurse a hangover.

The burger was phenomenal. Bacon and cheese burger! Also tried the chicken Parm. Nicely done and they're open late which is amazing.

Finally got the chance to dine in recently, after my husband suggested it for lunch after an early movie. He used to come all the time during his college days, and always raves about how much food you get for the price and quality. He’s not wrong. Last time, I had ordered a salad (who does that at a diner?). This time, I decided to get something good. I went with the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. This is grilled chicken, ham, and Swiss on a panini. The chicken was perfectly cooked. It looks like it could be dry since it’s so thin, but it wasn’t at all. The fries it came with taste better than they look. The menu did say it comes with curly fries so I was a bit disappointed when regular fries came out. I assumed they ran out or just didn’t serve them anymore so I didn’t ask, but then I saw another table have a sammie served with curly fries. Lesson of the story - always ask for the curly fries. The dish also comes with a pretty hefty portion of cole slaw, which was a nice addition to the meal to help negate some of the greasiness. It came with a pickle too, but it was just meh. My husband had the patty melt, which also came with fries and cole slaw, and a pickle. While the patty was cooked to a medium rare as requested, it was just too greasy overall. The bottom bread was soaked with oil. We both agreed it probably wasn’t something we’d order again. We had leftovers for lunch the next day, and my sandwich reheated very well. Will definitely come back and try some of the other paninis!

Fantastic service and fantastic food. Our plans for a family celebration were changed and we ended up celebrating with friends in the area of Elixir.

I love the food here and we didn’t have any complaints. The place is crowded and there will be a wait time. I will surely recommend this dinner to my friends.

I have been going here for 30 years and I've never been disappointed. For today's meal I chose to have Breakfast for Dinner. I ordered the Edison Breakfast Skillet. It consists of three eggs, bacon, sausage link, ham, home fries and a mini stack of pancakes. I also ordered corned beef hash. Let me say...I screwed up! Holy mackerel, this is a lot of food. I didn't think the Skillet would this BIG! The food was delicious. I enjoy breakfast foods and the Edison Diner has the best New Jersey diner breakfast. The sausage link has a crisps snap to it and is juicy and delicious. The bacon is thick cut and scrumptious. Bacon is nature's candy. The eggs were prepared just right. I've changed how I have my eggs since I began visiting this diner and they have been perfect every time. From fried hard, scrabbled soft to over easy and suuny side up, I've never had a complaint. I usually am pretty "meh" about the ham in most diners but this was a nice size, thick slice of ham. I liked it a lot. The corned beef hash was delicious also. The pancakes were done just right. They were large enough to complete the breakfast but not so large that I couldn't finish my meal. Edison Diner is a win. Go there for the New Jersey diner experience.

Always drive by, decided to stop. We are glad we did. Seated pretty fast for a Saturday morning. So many things to order. Everyone around us had wonderful looking food on their plates. The waiter came promptly. Brought steaming hot cups of Hot Mocha Lattes. We were in heaven. The fruit salad was fresh and plentiful. Order our entree after we started eating the salad. When it came out, it was super hot and yummy. Oh, how I wish I could eat eggs. Ken's Gyro Omelet looked delicious! My Chipped Beef over Texas Toast was good but, I wished I had gotten the pancakes. We will be back...

I like the Edison diner food and my wife also. We eat in and the food is good and the staff are great. Takeout is not so good. The food temp is not hot and I ate it in the car. Also, inflation has brought the price up to $18. I want to support places like this, but inflation is pricing me out. I'll be back, but this administration is harming businesses like this, and our families can not eat out as we would like.

We stopped here randomly during a road trip and it was such a great surprise. We both ordered burgers and they were both very good and very hearty. We were starving and we left feeling extremely satisfied with the quality of the food and the service. The place was so calm and clean. If we would've had more time we would have ordered a slice of cake because they looked delicious.

I previously went to this same said diner in 2016 amidst that of another Eastern United States Road Trip, and was met with a decent experience that I thought could have gone better in terms of that of the food. Recently, I was in the area visiting my uncle and my younger cousin and had the prospective opportunity to visit this famed New Jersey Diner again with them. The atmosphere for this said diner is spectacular and is also relatively historic in its own half. This said diner indeed does have a 1990s/2000s rustic vibe, and it was also the same as it was the last time I was at said diner. The food at this diner seemed to have gotten better the second visit, as the quality of food was better, and the food was also more rich in flavor. I, this time around, ordered the Chicken Parminga Sandwich with Fries and was met with a sufficient amount of food for an adequate price. I managed to finish said meal because of how good it was in a single setting. The service itself was the biggest downside on this most recent visit as the waiter took a while to get out our food and our drinks on this visit, and only came back for drink refills once the entire time we were there. In conclusion, this visit was for certain better than my previous visit to this diner, and I will be giving this diner another try in the future.

As a Rutgers student, the Edison Diner is a staple in the area. I have been to eat there many times over the years and its always provided consistently superb quality in food, service, and overall experience. Just recently, I went with a friend who ordered the California Turkey Wrap and I got the Malibu Bacon Burger. Our server was really friendly and attentive. Both the dishes were absolutely delicious and even made for good left-overs the day after––the portions are pretty big, so be prepared to take some home. This diner is great for a classic burger, fries, and malt shake (which is huge and delicious by the way) or for more adventurous options. Parking is accessible and the diner could not be in a more convenient spot right off the highway. Inside, the murals on the wall, bright lighting, and cozy booths or tables, create an enjoyable environment to spend quality time with friends or family. The menu is extensive and you'll want to come back many times for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

The edison diner is a retro theme - there are paintings all over the diner. The portion of food they give you is a lot so you’ll definitely get full. I got an omelette which had tomatoes, spinach, & onions - also some potatoes on the side - the potatoes weren’t it for me. The service was good .. got seated and served quickly & the lady that was attending was very friendly!

The desserts and club sandwich were awesome. My boyfriend got the count of monte cristo and loved every bite of it! I didn't get the photo of that. We tried raspberry and baklava cheesecake and key lime pie. All were wonderful!

A wonderful New Jersey diner who is in business since 1952. The interior decor is nice which honors Thomas Edison. The breakfast was simply delicious. It had 3 eggs perfectly cook and these yolks had a very bright orange yellow, the thick bacon, smoked ham and sausage all tasted fresh and not salty. Plenty of home fries with sauteed onions and peppers. The 3 small pancakes were fully and light. Now the coffee was weak to my taste but, it was okay. Plenty of onsite parking. Easy access to Route 1 south.

The food is okay-ish. We ordered Greek burger, Red velvet pan cakes, Mozarilla sticks, wraps. They are a bit dry. But the taste is okay.

Enjoyed the food, service & ambiance. Very classic diner with homage to Thomas Edison. The menu is plentiful. I asked my waiter for her recommendations. Ordered a classic vanilla milkshake & the fish and chips with tartar sauce. I ended my meal with one of their signature cheesecakes with raspberry sauce.

Loved it! The breakfast (breakfast skillet) was so good and nice sized portion as well. It's a diner so of course endless options to choose from the menu. I typically always get breakfast but tempted to try the entrees too. It was busy when we went but there was no wait. Think prices are standard. Looking forward to coming back!

The Edison Diner is a classic American diner located in Edison, New Jersey. The diner has a retro feel, with red vinyl booths, a counter with stools, and a menu that includes all of the classic diner fare you would expect. One of the standout items on the menu at the Edison Diner is their breakfast options. They serve breakfast all day long, and their pancakes are particularly delicious. They're light and fluffy, and they come in a variety of flavors, including blueberry, chocolate chip, and banana. The diner also serves lunch and dinner, with a variety of sandwiches, burgers, and salads available. The Reuben sandwich is a favorite among regulars, as is the Greek salad. The service at the Edison Diner is friendly and efficient, and the prices are very reasonable. The portions are generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. Overall, if you're in the mood for classic diner food served in a cozy, retro atmosphere, the Edison Diner is definitely worth a visit.

This place was BUSY on a Sunday around 11:00AM, which is to be expected as it was very good. Prepare to be here for an hour or more however. We waited about 15 minutes to place our drink order, and then another 20 to get the food. Food was very good. The homefries were dry, which is disappointing as reviews were saying they were so good. The bacon was thick and eggs were cooked to my perfection. The pancakes were perfectly cooked as well, although a little small. There is a lot of table space on the tables, but not too much space between the tables, if I went to get up by pushing my chair back, I would have ended up at the table next to me.

Late evening visit with mom. Was in the mood for diner French Onion soup. IT WAS SOOO GOOD!! Mom ordered seafood bisque and a grilled cheese, also soooo good! I loved the chips on the side too! She ordered rice pudding to go (and shared that she should have gotten more- it was that good)! Everything was very tastey! Service was excellent. Jersey is known for it's diners and this is one of THE BEST Central Jersey diners around!!

Beautiful mural on the wall, looks hand painted. They were good with taking care of my milk allergies. I ordered the turkey club on rye toast. With straight fries and a green hot tea. Everything tasted fresh!
