If you are on Roosevelt Island, I would definitely recommend a nice walk along the river to the end of the island to get some absolutely beautiful photos of the landscape. I wish I had more time to explore and relax in the park and watch the boats go by. It was a cold, snowy morning when I took a walk down to the park. It was absolutely breathtaking. There is so much to look at from all sides of the island. I would love to come back during the warmer months and take advantage of all the sitting areas and just take in all the beautiful views. There is an old hospital within the park with lots of interesting history, take a moment to read about it. It is very interesting and one of the reasons I wanted to explore this park. I love history and reading the stories and learning about the architecture of the buildings. It is pretty fascinating. I will definitely be back when I can spend more time exploring and relaxing while taking in all the gorgeous views.

Great park, big space, lot of play amenities for kids. Lake at one side of the park is a beauty. They have ice skating also during winter. There are sports amenities like tennis courts and basketball courts here. There is a walk trail which is having gym instructions at intervals

One of the nicest maintained parks in NJ. Has a man-made lake, tennis courts, basketball court, picnic spots and a health trail with stops where you can excercise if you are the fit type. Lots of parking and public restrooms make this a place where you can spend time and not be out of the place.

Roosevelt Park is hugh and very close to Metuchen and Route 1. I have played cricket, tennis and gone to picnic almost every summer in last 10 years. Park was not at all crowded on July 4th. Park is very well maintained and clean. Park lawn was lush green, as you can see in the pictures because of rain. You will not run into a situation where you will struggle to find parking in the park.

Enough free parking space for cars This park is a great place to enjoy BBQ parties with your family and friends. You can find many BBQ grills in the park, but you need to come early to get one. Alternatively, you can bring your own portable BBQ grill and set it up anywhere. The park also has ample free parking space for cars, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot.

This park is one of my go to places. Love the lake side view during sunset. It’s very soothing. The park has a play area for kids. Parking. Spacious camping and barbecue space. You will definitely get to see duckling all seasons in this park. You may also cross paths with deer on the trails. The park is also pet friendly.

One word...scenic. This park is one of the cleanest, most well-preserved that I have found thus far in NJ. I have even seen couples taking their wedding photophotos there. At times, there is a vendor selling pretzels as well. Whether you're looking for a place to take a romantic stroll, have a picnic/cookout, or just admire nature, this is the park for you! Enjoy!

A small community park that has it all! A beautiful pond with adorable geese and ducks that can put your spirits up real soon. The kids park is a delight to all those new parents who don’t have to worry about minding their kids much - at least for the evening. The running trails in the park is an athlete’s dream come true. And, to all those romantic couples out there, the benches are a hoot! Do check it out, as we do - almost every evening!

My all-time favorite park, awesome in fall. Big space to do birthday party, lots of parking space, huge play area and sittings around the pond.

This is the perfect park for doing any type of activity. There is plenty of parking and spots for picnic and BBQ grills. Thete is plenty of sidewalks and pathways to walk on, run, biking too. Has tennis court, basketball court, and playground. This is one of the best best parks around in the entire area.

It is a small park but really a nice place for the kids, they have few swings and slides and more in the playground. Plus the grill and seating benches were nice.

Awesome view when the lake is frozen. There is walking around the lake and it is good for running, walking and skating or cycling. Summer 🌞 time has come and now enjoy barbeque grilled here

Great place for a run. Flat loop around the lake. Hilly and more shaded paths in the other half of the park. Unfortunately, the park has more dirt than grass now in the shady areas due to erosion and possibly overly aggressive mowing. Lots of mature trees with damage around the base and roots means the tree cutting crew is taking down trees each year. It’s still a great outdoor resource for Middlesex county residents for walking and picnicking!

Very spacious, it has a separate part where the lake is and then a part where there are fewer people and more trees.

Beautiful park for a nice jog or walk. My only negative is this bad repair. A kid can definitely put their head or body through and fall into the water. The inch makes a difference. Don’t know who to contact.

A beautiful big park. Quiet & Peaceful. That our family enjoyed. Nice walking trails that allows you to contemplate mother nature. Have a tables area where you can sit and have a lunch / brunch/ snack. Clean bathrooms.

This park is so huge and beautiful! We've only been there twice as this is only a recently discovered gem...but we do plan to return many times for the summer. We had a picnic, hiked a trail and let the little one play in the (one of many) playground. We even saw deer!

Beautiful park for BBQ and gathering, you have to choose the place carefully though some of benches were very dirty. The park is clean. The play area is always crowded.

I grew up practically living in this park from a baby in the late 1970s until now. It has changed quite a bit since then, with significant improvements to the lake and playground areas. Plays in the park were always great on a warm summer evening. Every spring, my family would walk the woods admiring the mayapple and forest floors carpeted in spring beauties, and the old trees provided beautiful fall splendor and cool summer shade for decades. We would stop in with takeout and sit in the picnic groves to enjoy the tranquility and play at the playgrounds and in the woods for hours. I have a soft spot for this park...haven't been here in years, but recently visited it and was happy to see its evolution. Good job, Middlesex County Parks!
