Plainsboro Preserve is always one of my favorite trails. Very open with a lot of trees and a beautiful lake. Spacious parking lot right at the entrance.

Great local place for a quick walk on flat well marked trails. Reservoir is pretty all year round. The only thing better would be if they allowed dogs which they don’t.

Its a beautiful weekend spot, the place is slightly away from main city but have good connectivity if you have a car, either personal or cab. The place do have a beautiful scenic spots to sit and spend time with friends and family. You can also have easy trek over here that will give you a feel of dense jungle with trail running in parallel to lake. You can have some beautiful pictures at multiple spota over here to create your memories. If you visit this preserve on right time, you may get option of blueberry picking. Apart from the trail every other place is wheelchair accessible. So whats stopping you to have a quick trip at this location and spend some time with friends and family. Have fun! Ciao.

Very beautiful, peaceful environment where you may seem some wild life. Walking trails are nice but at times will be muddy or over grown. There's a nice visitor center with some wildlife (turtle as pictured) and much needed bathrooms. But beware! A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I was walking and got randomly attacked by ganders (it's mating season) - we never approached them or taunted them, may have had nests in the area by the lakes! we did suffer bruises and scratches and minor injuries- was pretty scary!! Won't be back due to this - I know it's wildlife but should be signs where nesting geese are or other possible dangers.

Tranquil flat walk. Swamped at some spots. Beware of geese near Maggie's trail during this time of the year. Beware of ticks. No activities allowed in the water. The center is a great place for kids, events, with restrooms.

This is the most beautiful park I've been to and hiked on. I HIGHLY recommend this park for families. If you do visit the Plainsboro Preserve, be sure to hike Maggie's trail (dedicated to Margaret Schaefer) and follow it all the way down (not far at all) to Maggie's Point. There you will find a stone bench and a 360 view of the amazing water and woods. You will want to sit there in peace and zen for as long as you possibly can. I cannot recommend this place enough. There is also a visitor center with some cool stuff and a beautiful rec area to picnic, BBQ and relax. 10 out of 10, you have got to check this place out.

My husband and I loved it here, the trails well maintained, other walkers we encountered friendly, unfortunately, we weren't protected from mosquitos and were attacked so left filled with welts. I'd strongly suggest using repellent before walking here as we did encounter the worst mosquitos by standing water. It's a wonderful place and we'll be back as this wasn't our first time here.

The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on a lot of businesses and public places since a consumer’s mindset to buy anything outside of essentials or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. We were looking for some nice place to hike when we were visiting a tailor in the plainsboro area and ran into this based on Google maps suggestion. The place was nothing short of magnificence. The place looked like a private property with a compound and an iron gate as we entered and as we drove in a bit, we found the parking space on the right which wasn’t too big. We luckily found our parking spot and hopped off for a hike. They have clear signs on which hikes to take and the map indicates the lengths and geographies of all of them. Dog owners, you are prohibited to bring your pets here, unless it’s a service dog. There’s a 200 m walk past a sitting bench and after that the trails take different directions. This is the point where you can take a stop and enjoy the view of Lake McCormack shoreline. Since we arrived a little late, we took the Yellow trail which was the shortest and got back before it became dark. The park had good number of visitors who respected Social distancing and wore masks. The park was well maintained and had a serene atmosphere. Once Spring arrives, we definitely look forward to going back and exploring the remaining trails of this beautiful park.

Nice park with trails and a large lake. It has a visitor's center with a helpful staff. Readily available are maps of the preserve and the trails. Trails were well marked. Would love to see in the Spring.

A hidden gem. Family friendly. Well-marked trails...meadow, woods, gorgeous lake, friendly staff, restrooms (check days available), go weekdays for a nice, uncrowded hike or nature walk, plenty of benches to sit. Please give a small donation. I absolutely love! Try not to hike the day after a lot of rain. Hiking boots recomended.

Such a lovely, peaceful place to hike or just sit and enjoy the scenery. Plainsboro Preserve has a number of easy, well marked trails that are also kid friendly. Nice to catch a relaxing hour or two in this setting.

Peaceful and nice walks. If patient, you can see quite a few animals - deer, tons of birds, occasional snakes, sometimes foxes etc., Fall colors are beautiful, especially reflected across the lake. Maggie’s point is my favorite. It has a little steep slope into the water towards the end, so hold on to the little ones. Overall, lovely place for a quiet “walk in the woods”.

What a gem of a park! We love visiting new parks all the time and New Jersey is filled with amazing ones. This one is no exception. We took the Blue Loop which is the longest trail. The trails are clearly marked, however due to the thick brush please go here only if you are very determined. Certainly it is not a casual walk in the park! I don't think the trail has been maintained recently because a lot of fallen trees blocked the path and we had to climb over or go around them. Due to the rains the paths were also very slushy. We went around 5pm and within an hour we were attacked by extremely aggressive mosquitoes!! The last part of our walk (along the train lines) was nightmarish!! Please go there with a can of DEET repellent and preferably wearing pants and long sleeve shirts.

If you are in Plainsboro, this is a must visit place. There are many short trails and it is easy to walk with some beautiful scenery. There is a lake and the trails are around that. If you are a person who feels calm with fresh air and a beautiful lake view do visit here. Take a cup of coffee or tea if you like to sit beside the lake and sip along in the afternoon

Free, nice parking lot with education center. Nice walk, must have good shoes. Blue trail is swampy and filled with mosquitos 🦟.
