This park surprised me in a good way. It exceeded my expectations actually. The park seemed quite ordinary and small when I turned into the entrance initially. However, I soon realized how large this park is as I passed parking lot after parking, field after field while driving. We stopped at the nature walk and had a short hike. Afterwards, we explored the park. There were so many different areas such as BBQ and picnic areas, tennis courts, rose gardens, and even walking trails along the DR Canal. There's definitely something for everyone. I can't wait to come back explore other areas of the park.

This is more than just a park. Available outdoor activities are plentiful and the grounds are beautifully cleaned. On the grounds is a park ranger station, restroom, paddle boats, tennis courts, nature trails winding through the woods and great fishing. Parking is ample and the vibe is completely safe, sights of baby strollers, high school cross country teams training, kids tennis competitions, fisherman young and old and just a happy atmosphere all smiles and friendly waves. Most impressed by the progressive thinking in designing of the parks department in designing for accessibility and inclusion. Extra care so that wheelchairs have a smooth ride on all paved walking surfaces & they even included exercise stations along the path that can only be done if you are in a wheelchair.

Great place. At first it didnt seem like it was too special. We parked in lot c and then walked towards the entrance along the ponds edge. We crossed the street and found the rose garden, sensory garden, and shrub garden, and thats what elevated the park from average to above average

Went to see if Spring had arrived yet. Needs a little more days of heat to finish cooking the flowering trees. But still a great place to walk and wander.

What a great park. The flower garden is stunning. The Gardner educated us on caring for the plants. He's well informed and very personable. Besides the ducks, we were privileged to see a snake and turtles.

Park has a Rose garden - beautiful and relaxing; but I usually take my baby to playground that perfect for kids 1 to 10. But every day at 11 am adult day care for people with disabilities start to bring they residents to this playground. During winter month it was only about 20 adults, but now they caming by 3 buses and playground and swings ocupaid by them. People are big and heavy for that

Nice and clean park with some many things to do and see. Love their rose garden and sensory garden. The perennial garden is such a nice atmosphere. It's definitely a nice park to take a walk and just be at peace with nature.

It's very good place to visit with family, friends or kids. Very well maintained and clean. Park has lots of activities options like walk 🚶 , bicycle 🚲, kids 🧒 playground. Landscaping 🏝 is well designed with green plants, tree🎄 and lots colorful flowers 💐. It's very convenient to drive and lots of parking 🅿 spots are available. They have more space for small family picnic. I highly recommend this place for fun.

I love this park. Every time I’m back in NJ, I visit it. It never disappoints me walking and enjoying the sceneries from fall to spring and summer. I don’t go in the winter 😄

I loved this place, super walkable, super cute garden, very beautiful and well kept! It gets a little bit too busy in the weekends but I think it's worth it to check it out, you can always find a good spot for picnicking!

I visited the Colonial Park in Franklin Township Somerset on Memorial Day and had a great time grilling food there. The park is very clean, green, and well maintained. There are a lot of trees and a huge play area for kids. There is also a tennis court for those who want to play some sports. The park has public grills that are easy to use and convenient. I enjoyed grilling some delicious food and having a picnic with my family. The park is also very beautiful and peaceful. There are places to sit in quiet areas for couples who want to spend some quality intimate time. The park is a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. I love this park and I will definitely come back again.

I love this park. There's lots of different sections to explore. I especially like the arboretum. I sit by the pond and just chill most times though. There's a section for kids, tennis courts and some nature trails

Nice, peaceful, clean and wide place. Small ponds are beautiful. You can grab your chair and sit anywhere you want, also banks are there. Great place to spend time with friends, family or on your own.

Hmmmmmmm well at least the area we were in ..it wasn't much of a Park ...it had a Rose Garden and a pond ...I suppose the trees were the draw....but the Vibe wasn't too warm and welcoming..at least during my visit .. Since it's Halloween my model friend and her Sister thought a simple Halloween shoot would be cool there....mind you the area we were in wasn't spacious....nor much of a Park.... anyhow after a few passes from the park Police 🚨 we were asked to not climb onto the trees it was bad for the tree and dangerous for us ....I'd say it wasn't much of a climb nor a disrespectful treatment of the tree ...we were also told we needed a permit to take pictures? That felt a little uncomfortable to me since it was me my camera a step stool and 2 friends .... wasn't a production per say ....two friends in costumes and some cool trees ...for a Halloween shoot... there's actual serious things happening in this world .... harassing a few adults taking Halloween pictures should be at the bottom of the list

Colonial Park in New Jersey is an amazing place to spend a day. The park offers a great variety of activities, from an outdoor pool and mini golf to a playground and a lovely nature trail. The trails are great for a walk or just to sit and relax or have a picnic. The amenities of the park are shine and inviting. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and they work hard to keep the park clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend Colonial Park if you are in the area and looking for a fun, vibrant outdoor space to explore.

Colonial park has everything your kid needs. It has a swings, slides, monkey bars and everything you may think off. Cherry on top it has a water park which is free and accessible during summer. You can even host parties here, with permit. The flower garden, tennis courts and lush green fields are perfect for leisure, ponds for fishing, lanes for cycling. It has a restroom too. I highly recommend this free park to people of all ages.

Beautiful place for a picnic with the family and kids. Even has a playground and plenty of parking space. Separate dog area. You can relax and have a good day by walking around or just by sitting and enjoying nature. While walking you find little exercise areas with visual instructions and benches etc. to be able to do them. Will recommend this place.

I haven't seen any park as clean and wide as this. So serene and tranquil and it offers alot of activities- from tennis court, kids playground, paddle boats and wide picnic areas. Such a nice place to just walk and do fun activities with friends.
