This place has a great importance which offers a beautiful view of the New York skyline. Standing here gives a great peace of mind where you experience, buildings, sea, ships and many other beautiful things. This park is huge and feels Never ending while you keep on walking around. You may also see the Statue of Liberty from the other side of the park. If you like to see the real and whole view of the skyline, then you are at the right place.

Great little park just outside the city. If you are into picnics this is a great place. Has great views. And some wildlife. ("wildlife" - very human friendly) It's recommended not to feed birds as they keep the insect population low. If you are luck the ice-cream truck will stop by.

Liberty State Park is truly a wonderland. It has a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline. Whether you’re here to exercise or just take a stroll on it’s paved walkways throughout the park or just sit on the benches and appreciate the majestic view of the Statue of Liberty and watch boats coming and going to Liberty Island, is one of the most satisfying experience you can have. You can also enjoy the ample open space to play with friends and families or fly a kite or have a picnic. Picnic tables and grills are available. Plenty of parking spaces too. We parked at the Flag Plaza since it has the better view of the Statue of Liberty. It is one of the best parks and already planning to experience its beautiful scenery in the evening time.

Great fun for Picnics as well as just hanging out and bicycling. Fabulous views in daylight as well as nighttime. Does get crowded but it’s a huge park and u would find a good spot for yourself for sure!.. free parking is very limited and there are parking lots with paid parking.

It was one of the best parks I visited. Attractive views. We had a lot of fun there. You can easily do BBQ there. Management is also cooperative. I liked that they were giving free garbage bags. There is also police monitoring. It's also the big area for outdoor games too. I want to go again.

This was an excellent FREE short excursion between college baseball games. Walked the beautiful promenade along the waterfront with world-class views of the Statute of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Manhattan skyline. Very well kept park with what looks like plenty of great trails and open areas to do just about anything (Adult flag football game going on even). Bring a camera as the views are amazing. It was windy and cold that AM but it was also that time of year.

Most beautiful state park in NJ. There are many places across the 6-mile stretch alongside water front and other places to see the NYC breathtaking downtown view. Good place for families to spend time with their friends and kids especially during summers for barbecue parties. There’s a play area for kids and vast area to just roll around. Must visit 👌🏽

Wow gorgeous view of the New York City from the Liberty State Park. We wanted to visit in the evening to get the view of the Downtown New York at the moonlight time, we were awe 🫢 struck with the view of the Skyscrapers. Hudson River acts as a jewel around the neck of the Skyscrapers. Place is very good for a evening walk with the awesome view. Cost effective compared to the night ferries and worth a visit during the evening - night time. We get to stay until 10.00 PM and there are couple of announcements made before the closing time by a Patrol Officer. Ample Car 🚘 Parking 🅿️ spaces are available for Parking.

We really enjoyed how well-organized this park is. The plants on the territory are taken care of, and the area is also very pedestrian-friendly. There is plenty of parking, and good pedestrian paths.

Beautiful memorial walls with view of the new building in distance. Great place to ride bikes with many paths along the water and also paths through the park. Summertime is more beautiful with awesome landscaping and greenery. Pack a lunch and stay for hours. Easy & free parking!

We went to Liberty state park last Saturday ! We booked our ferry tickets in advance for Statue of Liberty . The state park has lot of parking space . We got the parking easily and they have plenty of portable restrooms plus the regular restrooms all over the park . You can see the beautiful NYC skyline. You will get good pics with the NYC and Hudson River background . Good place for young kids . They have a rail engine and rail lines . Dont miss the 2 walls when you get down from the ferry. Many benches to sit and huge place to walk . Empty Sky is the official New Jersey September 11 memorial to the state's victims of the September 11 attacks on the United States. It is located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City at the mouth of Hudson River across from the World Trade Center site. Good walking trails , cycling, jogging , picnic area, kids play area . It’s pretty crowded on summer weekends!!!

Lots to see! Wonderful place to walk, rest, reflect and process so much history as well as current changes as they happen. Everything from the old train station that had been a bustling staple for so many lives, to the Open Sky Memorial, wonderful views of New York, a reminder of those who suffered for our freedom, and more. Parking was ample the day we visited and the drive on the old road that passes the Marina was a touching reminder of years gone by and the many people who have rode and walked there. Highly recommend.

A favorite spot for my family and I and especially during the pandemic. It's a nice wide open space for kids to run around and play. The view is beautiful. And watching the sunset and all the lights of NYC turn on. It's a beautiful view. Great place to take a walk as well. You have a decent view of the Statue of Liberty. Definitely a great place for a day trip. We love to pack up some food and have a little picnic. So far we haven't had any issues with parking. But it probably varies from day to day. For us it's usually a "I'm bored. Let's go" kinda place.

The park has become my go-to sanctuary for peace and tranquility. It’s incredibly friendly for pedestrians and runners, even hosting running competitions. There’s a wonderful atmosphere of families and friends enjoying their time together, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Manhattan skyline

Beautiful park with picturesque views of NY skyline and the Statue of Liberty. Ferries to the statue of liberty also starts from this park. I usually prefer the liberty state park ferries over the ferries staring at Battery park since its less crowded from New Jersey. The park is also ideal for spending time with family in the multiple picnic areas around the park. There are no restaurants or food trucks, so you will need to pack your own food. There are also public grills in the picnic area if you are up for some grilling. There are also multiple walking, jogging and bike baths for recreation.

Great place to walk around and reflect upon the freedoms we have because of the sacrifices of others......think about that when your voting to destroy this country and give rights to those whom haven't earned it, and handouts. The picture of liberty is from the back, because Dems have turned their backs on freedom and democracy, our rights and this country. Remember how you got your rights, and the culture that secured them. God Speed to all our Heroes whom fought to make this country Great, let's make it Great Again

The views were amazing. Certainly impressed. Just wish we had more information on what was open or closed. We did our research and was a little surprised at how little we got to explore. Get to the island earlier than you think you want to. Things start closing up soon near the end of the day. It also takes time to process prior to the ferry. Give yourself more time to experience all the attractions.

Really wide open area to enjoy a view of the city. You can see Ellis Island and the backside of the Statue of Liberty while walking along the water. Open grassy areas, picnic tables, benches, and a park for kids. Very cool place

While in the area I decided to stop and visit this park. It was so well maintained. Very tranquil. Beautiful sights. You can walk the walkway all the way around to the Statue of Liberty and farther. It is a cobblestone road to the park so be prepared for a very bumpy ride. The free parking was closed off but I paid 7 dollars for parking and I was there for 2 hours.

I had a fantastic experience tonight visiting Liberty State Park for the first time. The view was breathtaking, especially when I looked up and saw the One World Trade Center Building towering over me, miles apart. It left me in awe and made me appreciate the beauty of architecture and the world we live in.

We stopped here on our way to New York. I loved this park more than Battery Park in NYC. You get a nice view of NYC skyline and Jersey City downtown. There is a nice bridge boardwalk to walk on and you get a good view of Lady Liberty. There is nice nature and flowers and the park is well maintained. There’s a $7 parking fee.

Again the view is beautiful. Sunset and all the lights of NYC turn on is just beautiful Great place to take a walk - which I do. You have a decent view of the Statue of Liberty. Definitely a great place for a day trip. Lots of parking spaces which is free Also public restrooms which is clean

An amazing location to chill out and view the beautiful Manhattan skyline. When I visited, it was extremely cold (below zero celsius) and the park was full of snow. The sun was about to set so I decided to hang around to capture the new York skyline at sunset (see the photos in the review). There is a bridge that goes to the famous Ellis island (which was used to process the immigrants). However, the bridge is not accessible for public. You can also get a great view of the Statue of Liberty (the view is of the back of the statue). Definitely a must visit location if you are in Jersey City (especially if you love photography).

I had a great time at the park. It was during a beautiful early fall season day.. I live in Bklyn, and my parents live in SL, NJ, so I take the subway to Penn Station and the rest of the NJ - transit train line to visit NJ. Instead of taking the train home. My parents and i went to the park for the day, and then I used the ferry to get home to Brooklyn. I got home before my parents, who drove. They were stuck in traffic, unfortunately. It can be used as a commute from NYC>NJ. it cost less than the train. The view of NYC was amazing from Liberty State Park. A beautiful view of our statue of Liberty. It was a wonderful time, a new memory with my parents I will cherish.

Nice and quiet, very big with plenty of space to have family gatherings or just a me or a me and you moment 👍. The view of New Jersey City, New York City, Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero building, Empire State building, the Big Beautiful Sailboats and Rikers Island is something else 🙂 and there's also 9/11 Memorial, a Small Statue of Liberty,Old Historic Train Station (to take some beautiful background pictures) and Ferry boat store to purchase tickets for boat ride in the park. Depending on where you are coming from it's either the freeway over or the George Washington Bridge. Beautiful Park

Liberty State Park is a 1,212-acre haven located in Jersey City, New Jersey, offering stunning views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the New York City skyline. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an outdoor adventurer, or simply someone seeking a peaceful escape, this park has something for everyone. Things to Consider: Parking: Parking can be limited, especially during peak season. Consider arriving early or utilizing public transportation. Ferry Tickets: Tickets to Liberty and Ellis Island can be purchased online or at the park. Accessibility: Most areas of the park are easily accessible, with paved pathways and ramps available.

A must-see state park! There is no nature (it's in Jersey City); there is no quiet (NYC airspace is exceptionally busy); and you won't find solitude (the park is busy, just like the city). But Liberty State Park is the PERFECT parl to view the NYC skyline, the awe inspiring Ellis Island, and a gift from the French we now call Lady Liberty. The playground here is off the hook! Besides the dope views, there are multiple very large play structures that accommodate children 2 - 20. Get some! You won't be dissapointed.

Nice place to catch the Statue of Liberty ferry. Excellent parking space available for just $7. Getting the tickets online or early is the best option as it gets sold very quickly. Historical place to see the first railway tracks taking all the immigrants to the main city. Very good place to come with family and spend some quality time.

A very calm and green park. There are many parks and waterfront in the area but none so green and so huge. The boardwalk spans a much larger area. There is lot of greenery where one can bring kids/pets for playing and walking. We can see the New York skyline and statue of liberty all in one place. Great for sunset views. Can also see Manhattan bridge. Will visit again.

Liberty State Park is a wonderful destination that offers an amazing experience for visitors of all ages. The park boasts an incredible view of the Manhattan skyline, which is reason enough to visit. But the park also offers a variety of recreational activities, including fishing, boating, picnicking, and hiking. The park is well-maintained, with lots of benches and picnic tables available for visitors to use. There are also plenty of walking paths that wind through the park, making it easy to explore the different areas of the park. If you’re looking for a fun day out with the family, or just seeking a peaceful spot to relax, Liberty State Park is an excellent choice. Overall, I highly recommend Liberty State Park to anyone looking for a beautiful, engaging, and fun outdoor destination. With its stunning views, recreational opportunities, and peaceful ambiance, it’s truly one of the top parks in the region and deserves a visit.

The whole experience was amazing, and something everyone should do at least once! Plan for an entire day, and if you have some extra money to spare it for a guided tour! They show you so much you would miss walking on your own due to the crowds. Yes, there are a ton of people daily, but the employees are great at keeping people moving. Please Visit!

This is a lovely park with many amenities including boat launch, nature center and trails, playground, and a beautiful memorial to 9/11. The ferry terminal to Ellis and Liberty Islands is located at the far end of the park, adjacent to the memorial. Amazing views of Manhattan from this location.

I loved coming here as a kid and now whenever I visit NYC and showing my friends around, I always include this place on my itinerary. Great views of the Manhattan skyline especially the downtown area. The park closes at 10pm in the summer time, so go there at night to get some spectacular views. But as always keep your wits about you as there are areas that are not well lit if you plan to travel solo.

The park is very well maintained and easy to get to. Plenty of parking in various spots and the walk to the water isn't to far. The walking path along the water is very wide and has plenty of room. We also drove down to the parking area for the ferry and took the ferry to the see Lady Liverty. The views of the city from the ferry ride were great! Great time!

This is the place to be to catch an unabashed view of the lower Manhattan and Jersey City skylines. Both the day and Night views are amazing. We prefer to be here during late evenings and stay till it's dark to get a piece of both the views. The Park also houses Empty Sky Memorial erected in honor of those who lost their lives in 9/11 attacks. It's an heartbreaking moment in history and it was indeed touching to be here and take a moment to reflect on the lives sacrificed. Plenty of parking space was available when we were here just after New year.

I lived in NY all my life except for the last 2 years. I’ve been to all the sights, done all the tourist stuff and even took my kids & grandkids. However never have I gone to the Jersey side to Liberty State Park until this past weekend as I was killing time to drop my eldest son off at Newark airport. I’m so glad my son suggested we go here because we’ve never been here and was so glad to had this side of the view of the NY Skyline, NY Harbor and the other side of Lady Liberty.

If you need up close and personal views of NYC skyline then this place must be at the top of your list. Both views at sunrise and sunset will look beautiful. The parking lot is huge and expect a bit of a walk to get closer to the skyline. They have few restrooms, but during my visit they had it locked up. There are ferries that goes to Liberty Island and Ellis island, but again at the time of writing, the ferry services were closed. It was a bit of bummer, but nevertheless the skyline was mesmerizing. Absolutely recommend this place!

Liberty State Park* Boasting the perfect name for such a place; this park in the state of New Jersey represents liberty. Born in honor to the statue in which it was dedicated; here, we celebrate the idea of freedom... All that this land of liberty has gifted us! *It'd be nice if the state would gift us repairs of the potholes that lead in to the place.

Twin Tower bombing memorial, something you don't see on the TV. This is breathtaking. It's a sad day...took a moment to reflect and understand that everything designed on this memorial is sentimental to the measurements of the actual building and the thought that was put in of how the names are engraved is speechless. How did I find this out? Geocaching. Someone posted all the detailed information of this memorial site. Thank you

We decided to see Lady Liberty a few days ago. We got lucky and was able to get the last two spots to the Crown! We arrived and were met with friendly, helpful staff directing us to the correct ticket booth. The ferry ride was pleasant even in the rain. Wow! Isn't she gorgeous! We made it to the top with soggy feet and thankful for our Maid of the Mist poncho's 😍

It was admittedly a little confusing to navigate to it via GPS from the light rail. But, once we were there, it was a gorgeous walk with a 9/11 memorial and insane closeup views of the city skyline, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty. Worth the long walk to get to the north viewpoint. Be sure to pack some quarters so that you can utilize the tower viewer/scenic magnifiers located around the park. Sadly, due to COVID, the ferry that transports you to Liberty Island/Ellis Island from here is closed until further notice. You can only take it via reservations on the Manhattan side.

As I kid I never got the chance to see the statue of liberty so sharing this moment with my kids was special. Saw helicopters flying, folks fishing, running,on bikes and I let my lil ones ride their scooters. The scenery was so breath taking and it felt good to see all walks of life out and about enjoying themselves. Felt we are getting a little bit of normalcy back since the pandemic.

I’ve been to this park many times since it first opened. For years it was one of our favorite places to kayak from. This is a big park with many different areas. The Liberty Island ferry leaves from the north side of the park. The office and picnic area is on the southeast corner of the park. There are three parking lots along the southside. In the third parking lot there is one temporary parking spot for dropping off kayaks to launch from a small sandy beach. You check in at the park office if you plan to kayak and sign out when you get back. The picnic area is large and gets busy on summer weekends. You will find small and large groups having BBQs. The Statue of Liberty as the backdrop makes it a special place. There is a walkway along the east side of the park that goes over the water as you see the Manhattan skyline, Liberty and Ellis Island.

Having been part of law enforcement responding on 9/11 I had to visit. Please take pause as you walk towards the Memorial, view the wonderful skyline but remember. Remember those that innocently occupied the towers and those that ran towards danger. Read the names.

Well kept. It is so peaceful and calm on the trails. Actually saw a little rabbit. Loved the wetlands area. Unfortunately I didn't see any turtles or frogs
