The
Millard
Fillmore
house
and
museum
was
my
destination
when
visiting
the
Buffalo
area.
Situated
in
East
Aurora,
NY,
on
a
quiet
residential
corner,
you
might
think
he
could
be
anyone's
neighbor.
He
built
this
house
so
that
is
the
first
and
best
thing
to
remember
about
it.
Millard
was
only
president
from
1850-53,
and
unfortunately
one
of
the
lesser
known
U.S.
Presidents.
As
such,
you
can't
expect
something
as
grand
as
Hyde
Park
&
FDR's
museum.
Millard
was
a
humble
man
and
you
can
see
that
represented
in
his
museum.
You
will
also
learn
about
the
occupants
of
the
home
afterwards
and
how
it
came
to
be
preserved
from
the
1800s.
If
you
don't
know
a
lot
about
President
Fillmore,
you
will
by
the
end
of
the
tour.
I
am
a
bit
biased
because
Millard
Fillmore
is
my
favorite
President,
but
I
truly
think
that
anyone
with
an
appreciation
for
history
would
enjoy
this
tour.
Also
includes
actual
Millard
Fillmore
owned
and
period
artifacts
as
well
as
a
small
museum
on
the
back
end
of
the
house.
You
do
need
to
call
in
advance
to
arrange
a
tour,
but
that
was
no
trouble
at
all.
The
tour
guide
was
excellent
and
a
wealth
of
information.
I
wish
they
would
include
literature
about
other
Millard
Fillmore
places
of
interest
for
you
to
go
and
visit
after
the
home,
such
as
his
law
office,
original
location
of
the
home,
grave,
etc.
