This was an awe inspiring and majestic visit for us. It is a sacred place and deeply worthy of respect and a visit. While it might appear gothic and solemn in its outdoor architecture, inside its stately, grand, glorious and uplifting. The Christmas display and music here was thrilling! A lot of detail is evident in this famed Cathedral and it certainly was reflective during our time here. We loved the cathedral and highly recommend it to anyone of any faith, or no faith. It’s simply a wonderful institution of New York and for those with faith, a precious conduit to a higher power. A truly great place that we found enormously welcoming to all. Very highly recommended!

Whatever your religious or spiritual affiliations, St Patrick’s Cathedral is world class. The overwhelming space and grandeur combines with immense historical detail. Among the amazing sites New York has to offer, this spot should not be missed. Keep your flash off and take as many photos as you wish. By checking ahead on the website you can hit quiet times such as 9am to noon (often between scheduled services). By wearing soft shoes and moving quietly, you can pretend to be a ghost. Admission is free or by donation, but contributing is what keeps these places staffed and open. St Patrick’s Cathedral is an historical must see. I came away with a sense of the millions of people and moments that walked these floors before me, from the very famous to the every day person.

The most beautiful church I've ever been to. It felt so calm with angelic singing music. Beautiful sculptures and architect. Well lit and police protecting the church and the guest that come in. I felt safe. Such a great experience to bring friends and family and even go to Sunday mass.

Such an amazingly beautiful & expansive Holy space! And open to the public - who were respectful and quiet. There were many places to pray & light candles. The ornate sculptures of the stages of the cross & of several saints made it educational for even the most devote Christian. I especially enjoyed hearing the pipe organ bellow though the space. Definitely a must see.

Gorgeous cathedral that is the seat of the archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York. From the architecture to the history this is a MUST VISIT on your tour of NY (not just NYC)! You can light a candle and stop and say prayers... Or just take pictures. Obviously be respectful. The level of accessibility of something like this... Including no cost to visit... Is astounding!!!

Love St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The church is simply magnificent. We visit every Christmas and are able to walk through and see all of the beautiful sites. I stop at the Statue of St. Jude and always light a candle and say a prayer to thank him for his intercession at different points in my life.

Largest cathedral in North America is worthy of your visit! Echoes those of Europe but in New York! Classic Revival style architecture with buttresses and beautiful stain glass windows! Must see the inside chapel areas and crypt. Location of several famous weddings and funerals in history.

Beautiful building, but not sure about the management. I witnessed the most beautiful funerals ☦️❤️🛐 I've ever seen there 2 weeks ago, for Cecilia, only to later learn church employees tried to diminish her afterward in a most unChristian way. 🙏🏻 But, no politics in Maps, right?🤷🏻‍♂️ Okay, beautiful Cathedral,⛪️🗽 worth seeing. But don't fly your rainbow too high or too bright.🌈🚫😉

This is one of my favorite architectural places to visit in NYC. The church is across the street from Rockefeller Center and transports you back in time to the grandeurs of gothic style: large stained glass windows, pointed arches, rib vaults, flying buttresses, and ornate decoration. The pipe organ, stain glass and marble carvings rival the great churches of Europe! There is a suggested donation of $5 for entrance, there are daily services that take place and patrons are permitted to sit for the service. The atmosphere is peaceful and people are respectful and quiet. Photographs are permitted but I am uncertain if flash photos are allowed. This cathedral is a welcome refuge to escape the hustle of NYC and to enjoy a few moments of solitude. I am not Catholic, and I merely admire the architecture and atmosphere. I believe all are welcome to see the splendors that this location offers.

This iconic New York landmark receives approximately five million visitors a year, The striking architecture is wonderful. I didn’t had the opportunity to go inside because it was closed for a private event but the outside of the is a religious experience. The cathedral was built in the half of the 19th century to symbolize the rise of religious freedom and tolerance in America.

Beautiful place to visit early in the morning before the tourists come in! Stunning architecture and extremely peaceful and quiet - please go early unless you want to be part of the Instagram photo crazed crowd! Pics taken on a Sunday morning at around 7.30 am.

My family and I went to the church on Sunday and we’re able to explore the beautiful Cathedral. From the outside the towering spires rival the surrounding skyscrapers. Inside you’ll find intricate carvings. This has the feeling of a truly holy place

I want to say it is the most beautiful cathedral in New York. Very photogenic place. But be quiet when you visit as other people are praying inside the cathedral. Take pictures from both outside and inside. And spend some time inside the cathedral, you will find peace for a moment. It's closed at 8:45 pm.

Enjoyed a good couple of hours and mass in here, and it's definitely one of my top 3 cathedrals in the world. The glass paintings are beautiful and so are the statues and interior! Gorgeous and a must visit on a visit to NYC!

I'd just come back from wandering around in dozens of cathedrals in Europe. This one is 5 star, as good as anything I saw elsewhere. especially being well decorated for Christmas. The down side is the vast number of people cycling through it to gawk at the glorious interior and the elaborate nativity. But I'm guessing churches are meant to be filled with people. I did not find a prayer chapel to use. There may be one back in the ambulatory but it was roped off. There is no admission charge here and a public access toilet is accessible (a big deal if you are old).

One of New York's most beautiful jewels! The City has amazing icons and it is well known all over the world as the City that never sleeps because of its 24 hours things to do. However, if you are one of those crazy people like me, who enjoy seeing architectural designs of all kinds, this Cathedral must be included in your itinerary. Saint Patrick Cathedral was built among several taller buildings, although it is not as tall as the structures that surround it, it's majestic structure captures the eyes of tourists right away. Take some time to walk inside. It is simply gorgeous, and if you are lucky enough you might have the opportunity to listen to the beautiful organ music, it is just breathtaking.

St. Patrick's Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic Revival architecture and a true gem of New York City. From the moment you step inside, the intricate details of the stained glass windows and ornate marble designs are sure to take your breath away. Whether you're religious or not, it's hard not to appreciate the beauty and history of this iconic landmark. Make sure to take the time to explore all corners of the cathedral, from the tranquil chapels to the grand altar. It's a must-visit for anyone interested in art, architecture, or history. And if you're lucky, you may even catch a choir rehearsal or mass to fully experience the spiritual atmosphere of this special place. Highly recommend!

What an expansive and majestic Cathedral in the middle of Manhattan! It is open for public / visitors. It's filled with intricate and ornate sculptures with dedicated places for worship, one could spend easily an hour or more visiting including some quiet time. There was a wedding rehearsal going on, part of front area was blocked. Visitors were allowed to walk around, light candle or pray...it was a very peaceful and beautiful experience.

Breathtakingly beautiful architecture. There was a service going on when we visited, but we were still allowed to come in and walk around to see the different worship areas. Gift shop is very small, but has some great stuff such as jewelry, many different types of rosary beads and pouches, holy water bottles, etc. This is a must see if you are in NYC.

Absolutely beautiful. I have a soft spot for stained glass so this church was gorgeous. The atmosphere was great, even if I’m not religious, I still felt like I was connected with god. As a music nerd, the organ playing was amazing as well. Overall, amazing experience and definitely recommended!

Stunning cathedral in the heart of New York City always a great place to come and escape the hustle and bustle of the streets. Masses here are beautiful and the amount of detail that can be found from the different chapels to the exterior is gorgeous especially after the extensive renovation recently. A must see if traveling to NYC!

So so so beautiful! We stopped in just to look around and ended up staying for Tuesday afternoon mass. The priest was really good and relatable and even a little funny! And they were setting up their manger scene for Advent so it was cool to see - almost like a behind the scenes thing. Definitely worth going to - we'd love to come back for a major holiday just to see what it's like!

You can walk in and tour around during the day. The architecture is fascinating. Light a candle for someone if you are Catholic. It's quite nice and quiet. Take time to sit and reflect. Thought it was interesting that they had QR codes on the back of each pew to donate, for the mass reading or for your mass offering.

Beautiful. Meticulously clean and very well taken care of. The feeling when you are present in the cathedral was the best feeling I had while visiting anywhere in the city. The architecture and the history of the cathedral are wonderful. The fact it is open to the public to observe, yet has a quiet separate space for members if wanted, was so appreciated. Donations were accepted to keep the cathedral free for everyone.

Gorgeous inside and out! The respect people have for one another inside by being quiet is astounding. We donated $2 to light a candle and they do ask for a donation for entering. The stained glass is just beautiful, I could just and look at the glass in awe for hours.

Grandiose Gothic architecture right in the middle of midtown Manhattan. Pro tip: wash away all of your sins for a donation to the Catholic Church of only $2 to light a candle. I would have stayed for confession but neither I nor the priest has that kind of time on their hands. Where's a see if you're in the area.

Love the solemnity of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. It’s a quiet oasis tucked right in the heart of the city. Amidst the hustle and bustle, St. Patrick’s Cathedral offers a place to thank the Lord for the blessing that is to be in NYC. Make sure to check the side entrances as the main door seems to always be closed shut. Visited just a few weeks ago and had a special occasion to celebrate - my girlfriend just passed the licensure exam for physicians! Praise be to God! Happy to have thanked the man above in this historic church.

We have visited the outside before but this time we actually got to go inside. Wow! Just wow! They were even having a live Mass service. All of my family members are musicians and as we entered the cathedral, we almost came out of our skin with excitement as we heard the pipes sounding from the organ. It was a once in a lifetime experience for us. It is HIGHLY recommended.

The Cathedral is beautiful with the stained glass windows and the pictures so well depicted. The craftsmanship in the ceiling and on the columns is stunning. All created before laser design and cranes. Enter the sanctuary with appreciation to the caretakers and legacy donors. Would have loved to hear the pipes of the organ! The entrance is free but donations are greatly appreciated.

St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York is an architectural masterpiece and a must-visit landmark. Its stunning Neo-Gothic design, intricate stained glass windows, and awe-inspiring interior make it a sanctuary of tranquility amidst the city's hustle and bustle. Whether you're admiring the intricate details or attending a service, the cathedral's grandeur and spiritual ambiance are truly captivating. A true gem in the heart of Manhattan, it's a testament to both faith and the artistry of human craftsmanship.

Amazing architecture makes me think of my Europe adventures. I was lucky to be able to get a deal on a hotel down the street from the cathedral. As I went to it there was a mast that just got finished and the father was out the the door greeting everyone. Nice little gift shop inside but once you walk in it's even more spectacular. The windows and arches and the getting ready for another mast and people watching is awesome. A welcoming place for anyone of any culture. You're also allowed to take pictures inside. Definitely worth the visit if you're interested in architecture, arts ,history and more.

I recently visited St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, and I was blown away by its beauty and grandeur. The cathedral's Gothic Revival architecture is simply stunning, and the intricate stonework and colorful stained glass windows are breathtaking. The interior of the building is equally impressive, with high vaulted ceilings and a peaceful ambiance that makes it an excellent place for reflection and meditation. As a history buff, the cathedral's rich history piqued my interest, and I loved learning about its origins as a sanctuary for Catholic immigrants and how it has remained a symbol of resilience and faith over the years. It was fascinating to see how the building had endured many challenges, including fires and bombings, but how it had always prevailed as a beacon of hope and worship. Additionally, attending Mass at the cathedral was a beautiful and uplifting experience. The service was elegant, and the music was awe-inspiring, adding to the overall ambiance of the environment. Overall, St. Patrick's Cathedral is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to New York City. This beautiful and historic landmark is a reflection of the city's diverse culture and is a testament to the beauty, power, and resilience of religious faith. I highly recommend a trip to this iconic landmark; it is worth every visit

What a beautiful place to see, it has lots of details all through out the Cathedral. I am not a religious person but I appreciate and respect these type of places. The renovations I believe are done so it is a must see place in NYC. I think is open every day.

Once you step inside you marvel at the structure, various ornate stations for prayer, artwork and sculpture and the little chapel in the back. The entryway needs better traffic management for smoother ways to have people enter and exit. Security may need tables to perform better inspections of bags. If you are able to find a peaceful moment for prayer or reflection then kudos. The organist is amazing.
