Pre-Birthday Dinner!! It was the best choice we made! Visiting Niagara we found this gem of a place in Buffalo NY with South Indian and Sri Lankan Food!! Amazing!!! I’ve missed having Sri Lankan Food specially the street food Kothu roti and Crabs and Nellai Banana leaf fulfilled all my satisfaction!! We ordered the Mutton kothu roti and pepper Crab masala and chicken 65 buriyani! Oh my what rich flavors! The kothu - cut up roti and pieces of mutton was so good and tasty and really good!! So satisfying The Crabs - OMG!! Please order and we asked for extra spicy!! It was Amazing flavors and I’m so glad I had my pre birthday dinner here!! Chicken 65 buriyani also was so good!! The most satisfying meal I had after a long time!! Anyone visiting Niagara or lives in Buffalo or passing by do visit here! Special mention to Dinesh who was also Sri Lankan and I was thrilled to meet him and he was so good! They said they’ll be opening another branch down in Rochester NY! So anyone out there watch out for this place! It’s super and will satisfy all your South Indian and Sri Lankan Cravings!

Amazing South Indian dishes. We ordered Medu Wada, papadum, onion pakoda, paneer dosa, masala dosa, special rava dosa and set idly everything was super delicious 🤤 The chutneys and Sambhar served were equally tasty. Best Idly I had in the States🥳 Potato masala served with dosa can be more tasty I found it l less tasty. Thanku for the service

I really love the food here. It is the one and only South Indian restaurant I have seen with right recipes. Especially the biriyanis. whatever the biriyani is, it is made in south Indian style and not like the other biriyanis served in other Indian restaurants. I came to New York for a business trip and I often order food from here. I am listing out the food tried Shrimp Biriyani - Attached picture 5/5 Ambur chicken biriyani - 4/5 . Tastes good with less spice level Thalapakattu mutton biriyani- 5/5 . Awesome taste Chicken 65- 4/5 Egg fried rice - attached picture 4/5. Egg biriyani - 5/5. They give either the rice of veg biriyani or chicken biriyani Veg biriyani- 5/5 5 taste Uthappam - I would give 2/5 . The batter was not that good and uthappam texture was also not up to the mark however the chutney tasted good Plain parota- 3/5 . Layers was okay Also they give a side gravy for biriyani either veg or non veg. Overall with the biriyani experience I give 5/5 rating for this restaurant as no where in US I have tasted such good biriyani. Being a tamilian I missed biriyani so much and ofcourse nellai banana leaf fulfilled my cravings for biriyani Quality - 5/5 Quantity - 5/5

I spent a total of 83$ and received these tiny portions which isn’t even enough for a toddler! Orderd Tandoori Salmon for 18$ And it was a tiny slice only! Mysore dosai was so thin and small too which is unreasonable for the price! Paneer butter masala too was in a tiny container! I don’t expect a huge portion but it needs to be reasonable to the price! The food was delicious except for the Mysore dosai which wasn’t crispy nor warm! Never ordering here again! Such a rip off!

If you are looking for south Indian food, this place would be the best to go to. The food reminds me of Place in India specially the south Indian. Savory soups. Creamy pudding. Crispy crepes. Sounds like heaven, right? Well, you’ve only scratched the surface of what South Indian cuisine can offer. South Indian food is about as diverse as the region it originates from. With over 250 million people and dozens of languages found in this region, South India represents a diverse spectrum of cultures and cuisines. Covering South Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala, this vast region provides the majority of the zesty spices that make up our favorite dishes. Every bite of South Indian food bursts with delicious flavor. Unfortunately, many of these dishes are overlooked in the US in favor of Northern Indian dishes.

I have been to this restaurant in 2019 when they newly opened and loved the banana leaf meals that they gave. Went again last week and was disappointed that they no more serve banana leaf meals. Ordered thapakati biryani, panner fry, chicken 65 and fried rice. The veg was okay. There was a strange smell in the mutton biryani and the rice was too soggy. Chicken 65 was hard to bite and not fresh. Spent about 75$ for food that was not worth it at all. The lighting of the restaurant is very poor, they have very very dim yellow light , you can even see what you are eating. Never coming back.

Excellent food. Excellent samosas. Excellent Tandoori chicken. Everything just excellent. I had a spicy chicken dish and the chicken just melts in your mouth. I also had a few things else that my table mates had ordered and everything was just delicious. Nothing i didn't like.

The best Indian restaurant in and around Buffalo / Niagara. We were here twice in two days, this is one of the authentic Tirunelveli , chettinad, kongu- you can get. Start with the aatukaal soup or chicken milagu soup. Highly recommend nattukozhi briyani , araichu vitta kozhi kulambu , mutton sukka , chinthamani chicken. Veg options are equally tasty from chilly paneer to dosa varieties. Be early atleast by 12 for lunch or 6.30 or 7 ish for dinners . It gets crazy and you might not want to miss out great food because of busy waiting queues.

Nellai banana leaf is a great south Indian restaurant where you can find authentic south taste. Must try Biryani and kothu parotta and chicken and fish appetizers. Do visit for sure

Indian restaurants at and nearby Buffalo have much to be desired but this one is an exception. Came here for Indian food with almost zero expectation and was pleasantly surprised with how the dinner went ! The Chennai Chilli Chicken was a welcome change of palate , the chicken was tender and crispy and the sauce was not overly dominant. The Chettinad chicken and parotta is my go to combo at any Chettinad style restaurant and this one didn’t disappoint too . Very well prepared and lipsmacking along with the parotta which could have been a little better . The thalapakkati mutton biryani was by far the best Biryani I’ve had in the Buffalo area yet ! Flavorful rice , great spice blend and good enough mutton pieces , some were really soft and some hard but overall very good ! I hope they maintain the consistency in their recipes when I’m back next and I’m gonna be here soon !

never disappointing...One of a few restaurants in the area that's worth going back to. Love going to eat here! The menu is huge, with a wide variety of great food. they have the BEST parotta...so soft and flaky!! I've never found another place that has parotta that can even compare to this place. the pallipalayam chicken was great, and the zaffroni chicken tikka was soooo tender and delicious!! loved the dosai, appam, and idly plates. The tikka masala was delicious. they are friendly and helpful and its a nice clean atmosphere with all non-english music, dimmer lighting, and enough space that you have some privacy. There's only two complaints I have which are minor, the samosa tasted freezer burned, and occasionally they will play music videos on the TVs in which the dancing/attire may not be family appropriate for more conservative cultures or people. But I think they might only do that on the weekends. Overall it's definitely one of our favorite places to eat . **photos do not represent full portions of food and were taken after some was eaten

We ordered biryani and parotta. Food wasn't the best. The place was noisy with weird sitting arrangements. One time try, not going back.

The food was VERY tasty!! It was fun to try different South Indian dishes. Reasonably priced too! Can't wait to go again! This is one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. It's not just set up for takeout, either - it's a nice place to dine in!

We had a memorably great meal here tonight and will be back. We had tandoori chicken, podi idly, and Madurai mutton chukka with garlic and ghee naan. The server was helpful with suggestions and patient as we waded though the menu. It was fantastic, can’t wait to go back.

Best: 1. Restaurant ambience is super 2. Staff are very humble. 3. Compared to rice, the quantity of meat is more. 4. Hospitality is awesome. Worst: 1. Chicken 65 Briyani is the worst taste. No taste and no Briyani flavour 2. Thalapakattu Mutton Briyani is a No Seeraga samba rice taste and no Briyani flavour 3. Food is expensive.

Food over here is good. But the service is so bad. After you give an order you need to wait for 45 min -1 hr for your food to come. Also they forgot side orders like soda, you have to keep reminding them. I used to go here once a month since their food is so good. Will suggest not to go over weekends or when you don't have time for waiting.

Being a South Indian, I vouch for this place! We ordered various dosas and idli and they were really really tasty and fresh. Especially try the coconut chutney, it was the best I’ve had. If you’re visiting Buffalo/ Niagara Falls, don’t miss out to try this place! You’d love it :)

Absolutely delicious, authentic, rich in spice and flavor!! I tried their goat in green curry paste and Palak paneer. The goat was tender and I couldn't stop eating it! It was spicy 🌶️ truly a treat to have the real deal from Tamilnadu India 🔥 wow Highly recommend indulging in their homemade family cuisine. Service was caring, attentive & the bathroom was clean! I also had their mango Lassi a classic Indian yogurt drink and it hit the spot for the spice and added much flavour transitioning to the spinach dish- very well done. I especially loved that the drink was presented in a take away cup with lid and straw so I could continue to have it on my way home. I'm looking forward to having more of their food 😋 -dined alone -appreciated the rice that comes with the entree ordered, very soft & homey -feel free to eat with your hands -try their desserts, cooling & soothing to end the meal: I had their rasmalai- little pricy for the quantity but the quality was on top.

Nellai Banana Leaf (namma Oru sappadu) was absolutely amazing. From mango milkshakes to chicken Biryani the flavours were on point. The pompous fish 🐠 along with the tandoori chicken was too good. Namma Oru.meen sappadu with the tangy flavours of curry was noteworthy too. Overall the heartfelt service rendered, from suggesting the food to serving, showed our nellai culture through and through. They all made us feel at home. A must try south indian restaurant for wholesome food for everyone driving by Buffalo/Niagara.

We ordered dosas, soups, egg masala, aapam, NBL Chinthamani Chicken, etc. Food was not up to the mark! Dosas we're manageable with one of the chutneys (coconut). Soups, Chinthamani Chicken and egg masala were not appetizing and lacked in taste. The chicken pieces served in Chinthamani Chicken didn't taste fresh! Added to the above, overall ambience of the restraunt is less than ordinary.
