    I’m a former Ulta employee and currently am working at Sephora. So I rarely go into Ulta unless it’s for certain products or I’m looking to check out some new items with the brands we don’t carry. I literally hate coming to this location. They follow you around! Particularly the manager! The first time it happened I thought maybe I was overreacting. I alway come in dressed in sweats and sometimes even pajamas so I’m not sure if that gives off “broke” vibes but I come in to spend money when I’m having a bad day just to come have it made worse. & after the third time going to this location I realized surely she will follow you around the store constantly asking questions and looking you up and down. I came in a couple days ago to pick up some last minute items for an upcoming vacation as it’s the closest location to my house and across the street from where I work. As I was walking around, what seemed like the 5th time in less than 10 mins she approached me asking about a credit card because i had “a lot of items” and looked me up and down.. and I only had about a handful in there worth less than 50$ so I immediately knew she thought I was stealing. I was carrying my Marc Jacobs tote bag and as a former Ulta employee I know when they think you’re stealing. She constantly followed me around watching me grab items and then proceeding to ask me about it. It was really uncomfortable to know that every single time I come to this location it’s the same thing. Another time they happened to have an LP (loss prevention) there. I had my 5 year old sibling with me on a little outing and I was checking out a products trying to test out the texture on my hand and see if I wanted to try. The manager walks past me and I immediately see the LP approaching me and literally stood right at the end of the aisle and she again proceeded to bother me consistently about every product I was touching. My little brother is autistic and likes to smell things, as we proceed to walk through fragrance to get to the other side of the store and she immediately asks if I need help with any fragrances because he grabbed something for me to smell. I was so fed up at that point because of each experience that I firmly said no, grabbed him and went to the other side. I rarely visit this location now but even my experience as an employee (at another location) was awful. Sucks that even as a regular customer it’s not even worth shopping at this location. I have several friends who have experienced the same thing at this location and judging by the other reviews, I’m not the only one. Please educate your employees and ESPECIALLY the manager that everyone is not out to steal items and PLEASE teach them basic manners. The condescending tone and up and down eye rolls would normally get a different response from me but I will be filing a complaint. I’d rather spend more money going to target.

    Everyone here was so helpful. I thought I knew exactly what I was looking for and when asked I declined assistance. However, I wandered around like a lost puppy until I stopped an assistant and asked her to direct her to the item I needed. Instead of just telling me where I needed to go, she walked to to the exact location and asked me if I needed help picking out the correct shade! Wonderful customer service! Everyone there was very friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the various products available.

    the worst location ive ever been yesterday i went there and when i walked in no one said hi (im asian) but they said hi goodmorning to the white lady who walked in few minutes right after me these ladies gave you that look that like i cant afford anything or either i could steal something when i came to register there was no one at the register line but still 3 workers keep talking to each other like im not standing right in front of them the lady was at the register asked my phone number and i told her like 6,7 times because she said she couldnt find my number on my account ( ive been Ulta member for last few years) maybe if she didnt chewing her gum and joking with other employees she could hear me me better im not racist but all the employee look Mexican i dont know about this location gave the worst feeling

    Employees at Hoffman location are very rude. I used to work in retail, there's a fine line with assuming everyone is there to steal. You need to be more discreet and so do your "hidden security" walking around with a ulta bag and something in it, that doesn't make you discreet. It's ashamed I spend hundreds of dollars at ulta year round and I vist multiple locations, including st charles, and Geneva and only Hoffman makes me feel like a thief. Get it together! Also if I ask a question I genuinely need answers don't give me an "I don't know" attitude. This goes to the heavier set employee who completed my return last night.

    I have been getting my hair cut by Lucy at The Salon for over a year, and let me just say: she is amazing. From the very beginning, I showed her my very extensive Pinterest board of hairstyle ideas and she completely delivered! She copied the photo (of Jenna Ortega's curtain bangs and layers!) PERFECTLY. For the first time in haircut history, I went home and marveled in awe instead of second guessing my choices! This has been my consistent experience with Lucy, and I would recommend her to anyone. She is sweet, kind, professional, and full of artistic vision. Not to mention, her cuts get me loads of compliments! If you are looking for a stylist, look no further and book with Lucy!

    I had my hair done here this past Saturday by Zoe. I had asked for balayage, and instead got the front half of my hair highlighted and the back left uncolored. The highlights are pretty, but it's not balayage like I showed the photo of (and the technique was not used as I have had in the past) as the highlights go to my root. I also paid for the signature hair cut which includes a deep condition, and that did not happen with my haircut. I now have another appointment booked this Saturday in hopes they can highlight the other half of my head, and I still won't have the balayage effect I was aiming for or the deep condition I paid for. Also Zoe put more foils in my hair than was booked, and I paid for the partial and still have receipt. I plan on calling the manager this week as well, maybe they can help smooth things over and improve my rating or experience. Update: manager was very sweet and understood the miscommunication between stylist and photos, she refunded my money. She recommended Marilyn to fix my hair, however I box dyed it and will wait a few weeks before having it colored again.

    I had my hair cut done by Zoe and she is absolutely amazing. She was in sync with what I had asked as my hair style should be. I can tell how much she loves her profession by the way she was professional and listens to her Client. This is probably the first time that I have walked out of a salon with a perfect hair style.

    Employees dont want you here. They will make faces and walk into you or just walk at you, expecting you to move right away. No excuse me, no oh sorry about that, nothing. The 2 short, dark brown haired women tonight were just exhausting to be around. What are you, the Mean Girl Duo? This is why I rarely shop here. Had to come in cos sallys was closed, and I needed stuff today. Get over yourselves, you are just store cashiers. Seriously will never come back, ugh, irritating. I hate that I was so nice. I could've been just as rude as them. Especially the sleek haired one...i mean what a serious(she could lay off the granny makeup) B. Just get rid of the whole staff and find way better ones.

    I love this Ulta location. All of the employees are super kind and helpful. I got my brows waxed and tinted by Vanessa at the benefit counter and she did an AMAZING job. Any other time I’ve had my brows tinted they would be too gold looking (I’m naturally dirty blonde) and she was able to mix some colors together and gave me the best brows I’ve ever had.

    I got my hair done by Candice and she was amazing! It turned out better than I expected and I’m very happy about it! Candice was awesome and very sweet! She made sure I was comfortable since it took 4-5 hours to do my hair. Everyone else in the store was also very nice and helpful! Can’t wait to go back!

    Maria campos was such a wonderful help, she found the perfect foundation shade and counselor. She made me feel welcomed and costumer service was WONDERFUL. I will definitely keep coming back so Maria can help me with my makeup needs. I love the energy she brings to the store!!!

    The majority of the staff here are incredibly rude. Not even stand off-ish just plain RUDE. They spoke to my mother terribly when she asked if her purchase had earned any free items, she had bought over $600 worth of merchandise. They did not need to say “We’re not Macy’s.” If that’s how they treat customers daily, how is this location still open? Hoffman estates is within ten minutes of my house, but I’ve been going to the Schaumburg location for two years now for this very reason. This location hasn’t been kind in who knows how long. But I figured, maybe it got better so I went with my mom, and wow, worst idea ever. Do better

    Lucy, Master Hairstylist, THANK YOU!!! I'll try to keep this short but I seriously could write a book on how grateful I am to Lucy for fixing the most AWFUL up-do I have EVER had from Masimo salon in Arlington Heights (my first and LAST time going there). My husband and I were attending a wedding on Friday evening in Lake Geneva and I had my hair "Done" at Masimo Salon. I had a picture of what I was thinking to show the stylist and she did NOTHING like it. It was not a complicated style at all, that I was requesting. 10min after I left the salon, half of my "Up-do" literally fell down in front of my face while I was driving! I could feel the hairpins sticking into the back of my neck and dangling and a lot of other problems that I won't get into. I have a bad shoulder with very limited range of motion which is why I had it done in the first place. I didn't have time to turn around, nor did I want to, to go back to the salon to have them fix it and it cost me $60. I was in tears! I live in Algonquin and had no time, not to mention the chances of trying to find a salon/stylist who was available for a last minute walk in. I tried my luck at Ulta in Hoffman Estates and as soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by a lovely young woman who saw the panic in my face and tears in my eyes and of course the obvious hot mess on my head. She walked me back to the salon to see what they could do for me. That's when I met Lucy. She was INCREDBILY sweet and compassionate with my situation. She knew exactly what I had originally wanted my hair to look like before I even showed her the picture! She had a client that was running a few minutes late for her appt and she said that she wanted to help fix my hair for me while she waited for her client. I was so blown away and grateful by her generosity and compassion that I started to cry, but happy tears this time! She went ABOVE and BEYOND to recreate a BEAUTIFUL style for me. Her client showed up while she was still fixing my hair and she was so gracious to wait a few extra minutes so Lucy could finish my hair. Lucy TRULY saved the day for me and my husband. I don't know what I would have done had she not taken the extra time out of her schedule to help me in my emergency. I really hope this review makes it's way up the ladder and that Lucy is recognized for OUTSTANDING customer service and compassion and going above and beyond when she easily could have turned me away. She has renewed our faith in customer service, which now a days seems non-existence. Lucy, THANK YOU again, you are my angel and I will now be a forever client! God bless you sweetheart!

    I went there for the first time for a haircut. My stylist name was Zoe and she was AMAZING!!! So sweet, very professional, listened to what I wanted and exceeded my expectations. She was truly such a delight, I will definitely be going back to her :)
