La Deliziosa has been baking wonderful pastries, cookies and cakes since 1974. I stopped back there to get something special while visiting family. There was nothing like being small and getting to choose something wonderful out of the cases. Yesterday was no different. It was comforting and familiar. The staff was charming and patient while customers made up their minds. 🧡

I love this family run Italian bakery. I live over a half an hour away and travel here for their birthday cakes. There is a great selection of cakes, fillings, and icing. They also have every pastry and cookie you could imagine. I grew up in the Bronx and missed the wonderful bakeries there, now I have found my happy place!

We saw a map that indicated that there is a Little Italy in Poughkeepsie while walking across the Walkway Over the Hudson. While driving through, we stumbled upon this amazing bakery. It has all of the classic Italian pastries, cookies, and baked goods, plus more! The staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable. They offer a lot of variety so we tried several different cookies. My girlfriend loved the pignoli cookies. If we are ever in the area again, I'd really like to come back.

Did you know that Poughkeepsie has a little Italy? When you find yourself there, make sure you go to LaDeliziosa for the best cannolis. I’m sure everything else is delicious as well and just walking into this bakery and looking at all the goodies is delightful!

Excellent pastry shop in the “Little Italy” neighborhood of Poughkeepsie. Everything is very reasonably priced and delicious. Cannoli filled on the spot (all the way through!) and dusted with pistachios and powdered sugar. Perfect afternoon treat for strolling around Poughkeepsie.

Never disappointed. Best bakery in the area and beyond. I've had pastries from Brooklyn to Albany and they are one of the best and outdo any "pastry garden" out there. Best cannoli cream there is. No lard-based or "waxy" frostings here. Always fresh and delicious!

Was a nice break after crossing the bridge for some breakfast treats and after biking around Poughkeepsie for some Italian Ice. Some outside seating in the shade with plenty of space on the sidewalk to park the bikes, no public bathroom.

I tried a slice of the rainbow 🌈 cake 🍰. It was good. I definitely would recommend this place to friends and family. It’s right next to the harbor walk bridge.

On a train trip to Poughkeepsie I decided to try them out. It was a wonderful decision. I got the best tiramisu and cannoli ever in my life, and the biscotti also made me 🥰. Their Italian dessert, in my opinion, is easily better than a 100+ yr old Italian cafe in Manhattan, which I also love very much. It’s a long train ride there but when I have another chance I’m gonna visit again for sure. I wish their pastry is accessible from Manhattan!! Oh and their price is amazingly low!

You're greeted by the nice people that work there, and then you have to make the hardest decision of the day! What delicious treat(s) am I going to buy. I had a sweet tooth, so I went with a freshly made cannoli and a black and white cookie. Both were delicious and fresh! Can't wait to go back when it's warmer to have their homemade Italian Ice!

Excellent quality and at reasonable prices! Every time I order a cake here it has been delicious. The best bakery in this area.

This place might represent the best of Poughkeepsie, but it would be no more than just another neighborhood bakery in a big city. The quality is acceptable, but it is far below what you can get at top notch cake houses or even many farmer's markets.

They make phenomenal Italian pastries and the red velvet birthday cake was one of the best I’ve ever had.

Heavenly old fashioned homemade Italian ice, no artificial after taste ! Chocolate & lemon are my favorite. Mango, chocolate chip, raspberry & mango are all good too. Comes in several different sizes but I always go for 1 pint plus a medium size at one sitting because it’s that addictive!! Only 3 minutes drive from walkway over the Hudson if you’re taking stroll there.

Always a delight. When I moved in down the street I should have taken into consideration the cost of moving next to such a great bakery!

La Deliziosa Italian Pastry Shoppe is very much an old fashioned NYC style bakery, still filling cannoli when they are ordered and not in advance. Just follow your nose to the rows of wonderfully delicious and eye pleasing Italian and more pastries and cakes. La Deliziosa, located in historic Mt. Carmel Square in Poughkeepsie, NY is a friendly place that treats every customer like a cherished regular. We go there often, especially for large orders for parties and get togethers. It's always a crowd pleaser. The store is very clean, very friendly and offers an array of fairly priced baked goods. I consider this shop to have the best cannoli and Napoleons in the Hudson Valley. It's a must try for any pastry freak.

OH EM GOSH! The best Italian pastries and cookies I've had in DECADES! I'm from Brooklyn N.Y. and even the decor of the place brought me back to my childhood in the 50's I bought a rum pastry that was phenomenal. The place was super clean. I mean SPOTLESS! The staff was very friendly and the young clerk was so sweet. She gave me quick and easy directions to the 'Walkway Over the Hudson'. That's where I ate my rum pastry. SOOO GOOD...!!! It was a fantastic experience and my 1st visit to Poughkeepsie. After my hike over the Walkway I returned to this shop and bought a boxful of cookies to take home on Metro North back to Brooklyn. I'm a 70 year old hiker and my only regret was not buying 2 or 3 more boxes of cookies. I plan on returning to Poughkeepsie and do the whole hiking experience and definitely visit this shop again. I can't say what was better about my experience. The cleanliness, the very friendly staff, the pastries, or th prices. I spent so much less than what I expected. The prices were right! I had an amazing day and this place was th BEST! SINCERELY, Thom,👍👴✌️ from Brooklyn

La Deliziosa is a great little place that is packed with delicious pastry. They have very good Italian ice also. The staff is friendly and attentive. Everything I've ever had from there has been excellent. It's worth a trip to Poughkeepsie just to go there. Try the taralli (Italian cracker knots). They are great.

I am always looking out for great restaurants and bakeries when my wife and I are traveling. We happened to be in the Poughkeepsie Area to see relatives when I noticed there was an Italian bakery right near the Walkway Over The Hudson. I was pleasantly surprised by La Deliziosa. It has been around a long time, which was a plus. It had all of the cookies that I loved, and each cookie was fresh and flavorful. It was very hard not to buy out the store. Thank you for bringing back great memories.

I will give a 2 of 5 due to the service Delicious pastries don't Take me wrong but I would like less attitude on my Tiramisu. I hope this wasn't because cause I look different because as soon as another customer came in looking like the person behind the counter she gave a 100% different vibe. I was still buying their stuff because they pretty good but probably I will pre-order to pick up.
