Well maintained trails and a spectacular view from the observation tower - make this historic place a stop on your next trip to Tiverton. The only drawback: The trails can be quite muddy (there is marshland, after all). I visited during a drought and they were still wet in places. Additionally, wear bug repellent and bring the bottle with just in case you need to reapply. Some parts of the trail are steep so children and folks with mobility issues may not be able to fully enjoy them.

Great little trail. Pretty quiet when I was there. Beautiful view of the bay from the lookout tower.

Fantastic area for hiking, and spending time in the great outdoors. The tower has excellent views of the bay. There is also the old cemetery and revolutionary war redoubt for the history buff.

Awesome quiet & serene spot to visit. Very clean. The 2 story lookout provides an extensive & breathtaking views of Sakonnet River and the Portsmouth side of Aquidneck Island. A few exciting hiking trails with trail maps available on a post only about 10-15 yards behind the lookout. Some steep steps to go down but then the fun starts. Gorgeous place to hike in the Fall & Winter as the trails weave around small brooks & streams. A true hidden gem of Rhode Island.

Great place to visit and explore. Alot of history here. Not the easiest hike, if you have any leg problems. The steep hill at the entrance is tough enough. Otherwise, beautiful scenes from the tower, great place to bring your dog (bring leash!), or family, maps available. Bring bug and or tick spray.

The hiking trail is a bit rough, wear good sneakers. Observatory provides beautiful views of Mount Hope Bay.
