I had the pleasure of diving with Explore Kauai Scuba on a trip to Ni'ihau, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. After having a number of dangerous issues with another well-known scuba company in Kauai the day before, I was feeling a bit apprehensive about diving again. However, from the moment we arrived, the team at Explore Kauai Scuba went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and safe. Not only did they take the time to go over every aspect of the dive with us, but they also made us feel like we were all just friends diving together. It was clear that they truly love what they do, care about their community, care about their customers, and respect the islands. And the diving itself was just breathtaking - the Hawaii monk seal we saw stole the show! Overall, I can't recommend Explore Kauai Scuba enough. If you're looking for a scuba company that puts safety and respect for the environment and local communities first, while also providing an unforgettable diving experience, look no further than Explore Kauai Scuba. I recently did the Niihau / Lehua dive with Explore Kauai Scuba and had an incredible time. Jesse and Nick, co-owners, were outstanding. Jesse led the dives and Nick piloted the boat, and both were incredibly warm and professional. We saw many Hawaiian munk seals, fish, eels, etc. with some of the best underwater topography I've ever seen in some of the clearest water I've ever been in. We did two dives of about 80 feet deep and it was incredibly safe and easy. The return ride to Kauai is notoriously rough, and the ride back did not disappoint. One strong advantage that Explore Kauai Scuba has over other dive companies is that they are located much closer to Niihau than the other companies I spoke with. This might not sound like a big deal but in rough seas, it is probably saving you another 1-1/2 hours of bouncing around. This means that you do have to drive a few more miles if you're coming from Poipu but I would much rather be in a smooth riding, air conditioned car than be bounced around for longer than I need to. This is a great dive company, which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, and I will seek them out in the future.

Did two days of diving in mid September 2023 with Jessie and Nick- our entire week on Kauai was filled with highlights and this was certainly one of them. Day one was a two tank local dive that started off with a bang- before we even got to the first dive sight we spotted tuna and subsequently shark fins. Jessie jumped right in and we followed- probably the closest in open water I’ve come to to a pack of 30-ish grey and reef sharks- some even swam a little too close for comfort. Day 2 was Niihau island and we swam with two of the endemic monk seals as they dove and surfaced. Jessie and Nick run the dives at a relaxed pace, which we very much appreciated and that meant even some time for fishing on the way back to shore! What a blast!

Amazing dive experience! We saw so many large animals during our dive like sharks, monk seal, rays, etc. I highly recommend Explore Kauai Scuba. The boat is nice and fast at crossing the channel to the forbidden island.

I had an amazing time diving with explore Kauai scuba. Nick and Jessie are friendly , caring and have profound knowledge about the marine life. I was new to scuba dive and have not dive for one year. Jessie was there to go over all the basic stuff about how to use the BCD. Also checking on me during the dive. It made me feel less nervous and relaxed in the water. They aren’t the usual scuba diving company. They will take their time to find a good dive site.Jessie will jumped in to check the visibility. She did a good job finding different sea life and will write down on her pad. I highly recommend explore Kauai scuba and will definitely be back to dive with them again.

This was one of the best days of my life. Swimming with sea turtles was a bucket list item. Nick and Jessy were great! Very skilled and patient. My girlfriend was scared and unsure of herself. Nick patiently helped her build confidence and instead of her giving up and sitting the dive out, she made it down and saw the first turtle. If you are coming to Kauai, you have to see the beauty below the shoreline as well as above. Nick was very knoleagable and knew where certain fish hung out. As we would find them he woukd write on a slate what they were. It was very informational. Next time we cone back we will go diving with these guys again!

10/10 experience! I had never scuba dives before and was excited and nervous for the experience. Jessie was super kind and took her time explaining everything and ensured I was comfortable with the equipment and what I needed to do, to ensure my safety while out there! Beyond that she has such a vast knowledge of the sea critters we were looking at and pointed out things I would have never noticed! Already looking at coming back to get my dive ticket with them!!! Thanks for such a great experience!

Jess and Nick went above and beyond to provide the most amazing SCUBA experience. They are so knowledgeable and respectful of the natural environment. It was important to us to work with local guides who have a passion to protect and preserve the area. We appreciated all they did to provide a top notch journey that was extremely educational and environmentally conscious. Their equipment and wetsuits are very high quality as well. They are the owners and take time to listen to customize the program for where the guests are at. Wonderful and so grateful to have found them.
