We enjoyed this out of the way restaurant twice, first returning form the road to Hana via the back side of the island & again on our way back from Haleakala. The food was delicious both times, but the extensive dessert collection is a true highlight, be sure to save room. Our favorite was the lilikoi tart :)

Delicious stop for lunch after going up the mountain for gardens or hikes! We got the reuben and the chicken sandwiches- they come with a side salad by default, but you can choose fries as well. Quiet atmosphere, not too crowded, lots of dessert options. No AC.

Top notch, this is a truly great restaurant and very welcome after coming down from a ten mile hike across the Haleakalā crater. We went for the Caprese salad and a Reuben sandwich, which were as delicious as they look. The dessert selection looked excellent but we did not partake this time. Lovely hosts. 😋

The primary downside is that their outdoor seating area is very small. We ordered takeout, and my grilled mahi mahi sandwich was divine. It was also huge. My husband's burger was fine but nothing special. The desserts were massive and were incredibly delicious. The cost was less than at other places.

Our food was delicious. I had the grilled fish and veggies (gluten free). My coworker had their fish & chips (coconut panko). Both were very delicious! They also have outdoor and indoor seating and a restroom.

Everything about this place is wonderful. Food is delicious. There are so many delicious dessert choices to choose from. I would highly recommend this place. I personally ordered the shrimp scampi. Nothing bad to say about it. The pistachio cake is delicious. But my husband and I shared the pecan ice cream carrot cake during our second visit and I found that I liked that more.

This place is so incredibly good. They could easily charge much more, especially since the portions are so large! Bring a bottle of wine because there is no alcohol menu. Do not skip the desserts. They are amazing.

We came across the Kula Bistro while out for a drive and boy, were we glad we did! The food was amazing and looked (almost) too beautiful to eat! We would definitely recommend this to anyone that wants a 5 star meal with a nice relaxing atmosphere. This place is worth the drive from anywhere on the island!

Originally was not going to eat here but I am glad I did. Food was delicious and portions were huge. Got the lobster mac and cheese (must get), a asian chicken salad, pesto pasta and lamb meatballs pasta.

Byob. Or shop the general store across the street for a wide selection of favorite beers and wine. The Reuben is outstanding. The staff is wonderful. Great place for a casual drive as well.

Excellent breakfast. Had the egg and sausage sandwich and buttermilk pancakes to share for two. Still had plenty of food. Best breakfast and customer service on the island. Cannot wait to go back.

Pasta here is fantastic and made in house. There is no alcohol served here, but you can BYOB. Nice menu selections and a huge dessert case. It feels like they are trying to provide a slower paced, upscale meal. Unfortunately, wine/cocktails tend to be a key factor in a slower coursed meal. Wait for the food felt really long as we sat with just water on the table.

Amazing food! The salad was so fresh, locally grown veggies. Delicious pasta, we had their special, as well as cheese rolls. Deserts should not be missed. We truly enjoyed the atmosphere, you can also get your own drinks from across the street. Mahalo! 🌺

We visited Kula on a Sunday night, trekking up from Kihei. It’s a bit of a drive, but the food was unbelievable tasty. The portion sizes are huge (!) and definitely shareable. Everything we had tasted fresh, and bright with flavor. The shared around the table fried cheese curds with ranch, caprese salad, Cesar salad, the bistro green salad, grilled calamari, seafood saffron risotto, pasta bolognese, lamb meatballs and pomodoro. Had lots of leftovers to bring home (we were not warned about the serving size). The green bistro salad and the grilled calamari were the favorites on the table. Would do again! And would save room for dessert. Also, we ate indoors, for a 5:30pm and the temp did drop quite a bit - something to consider if you are deciding between indoor/outdoor seating.

Enjoyed this restaurant for a nice sit-down meal. We had a little bit of a wait for our main meal (I think they were short staffed), but it was worth it! Our group tried the coconut shrimp, Fried cheese curds (special), and Panko calamari (special) appetizers. We also had the Lopes farm fried pork tomahawk and duck & roasted potatoes which were also specials for the day and topped it off with a P.O.G. bar. Shrimp was very good and the Molokai sweet potato it came with was one of the highlights. The photo doesn’t do it justice, but the pork tomahawk was huge, but still tender inside. The P.O.G. bar was very tart, but really good as well.

We went here for breakfast after our trip to Haleakala for sunrise. This place opens at 7am, it’s perfect for people who went early to Haleakala and start getting down post sunrise. Food is good and staff are friendly. Their pancakes are great, we tried both macadamia nuts white chocolate & milk chocolate pan cakes.

Great breakfast here. They cater to locals, some of which were repeat clients. Food was good and they had their own parking (not very big). We were served promptly and with good attitudes. I like it. Their food is locally sourced and they make everything in the house. Great looking cakes also.

Take the time to eat at Kula Bistro during your Maui adventures. It's a beautiful drive along the side of Haleakala to this hidden gem. The food is amazing! I have ordered something different every time I have visited and every single thing on the menu is an 11! I have to admit, my most recent experience was my favorite though. The coconut shrimp with purple mashed potatoes are perfection. *Extra tip - the caramel turtle cheesecake is a must for dessert!

A great upcountry place to visit. We went for lunch before going to the Lavender Farm. Wide ranging menu. I had the steak sandwich and my wife had spaghetti Bolognese. A great range of desserts too. We had the citrus lilikoi bar which was very tasty. This isn't a touristy place, there are lots of locals too. They don't take reservations here, walk ins only and they don't serve alcohol either but they will direct you to the General Store across the street so you can buy your own and they will open it without a corkage fee. Good food, great friendly service. If you are upcountry, I recommend a visit.

We stopped here after spending time at the summit of Haleakala National Park. We sat outside, which might have been a small mistake since it turned out breezy, but it worked out. One of the lunch specials was Mahi Mahi Fish & Chips, which I had a really enjoyed. My wife got the Kalua Pork Panini and she really enjoyed it. Service was friendly and very good. We would stop again if in the area.

We stopped by Kula Bistro on our way home from watching the Haleakala sunset as a recommendation from our AirBnb owner. The food is absolutely fantastic. The desserts were also amazing. I'm so glad that this is where I ended up on my birthday. The staff were some of the nicest people we met. This restaurant is a jewel. Five stars.
