Went to the 12th annual tree lighting at Centro Ybor and what a great event! They did a great job with the entertainment which included singing and dancing (both hip-hop and classical ballet, performing a nice excerpt from The Nutcracker), a guest appearance by Mayor Jane Castor and Santa too! The snow falling on the newly lit tree was a nice addition!

So cute! Definitely a must see or you're missing out. We enjoyed Centro Ybor more than downtown Tampa or the other surrounding neighborhoods we visited. The shops were small, super cute, eclectic and seemed like one of a kind places. Those are our favorite because they are actually interesting and hold items you won't find anywhere else. We visited the area on New Years Eve in time to enjoy the parade on the main strip. When the parade came to an end, we popped into some cool shops and bar hopped the local establishments. Everything had it's own authentic theme, cool food menus and crave worthy cocktails. Hookah bars, night clubs, Coyote Ugly, fine dining, casual dining, people of all ages and culture. We loved the artwork and public murals! What a treat it was visiting this city.

I am a history buff. So when a friend took me to Ybor I was amazed. Such a rich history. Every place we went the people were so friendly and courteous. I had a great time visiting and definitely want to come back soon.

Love Centro Ybor. If you are visiting Tampa you must go here. Lots of restaurants and pubs, handmade cigar, entertainment and in particular, home of the famous Columbia Restaurant.

On a winter day, you feel like you're in NY or Washington DC. Beautiful.

Love this little city. Lots to see and do. Free hop on hop off trolley into Tampa and back. Awesome driver. Visit Nicole at the Tap bar (you'll love her-she has 64 beers on tap too) and don't miss the museum (wonderful docent and city history).

Pretty neat place. Has some history behind it as well. Rode the streetcar from one end to the other which is cool and free. May be something you might want to check out if your ever up in that area. Oh and the streetcar runs from Ybor City into the downtown Tampa area. If you don't like to drive into Tampa this streetcar may be your ticket.

Rode the Tampa trolley up to this part of city. Reminded me lot of a clean Bourbon street. Lots of food, beverage stops. Several locations for a cigar, fresh rolled, Cuban coffee or adult beverages.

This is "old town" Tampa. Many diverse food, club, bar, clothing and specialty shops. Young people Cruise the boulevard with their motorcycles and custom cars on the weekend. The people are well behaved and you feel secure.

Very interesting and entertaining Cuban-flavored old town section of Tampa. Surprisingly similar to New Orleans' French Quarter.

We visited around noon on a weekday. My wife felt insecure due to all the homeless people asking for handouts. The central park was full of homeless people. Hard to enjoy walking around and trying to shop with so many asking for help. There are many vacant buildings. We did not stay.

I was visiting from NC. My cousin, who I was visiting, and an ex-coworker, who I hadn't seen in a few years, decided to meet in Ybor City. Since one of us was a beer conisour, we had to visit here. We enjoyed ourselves outdoors.

My Nice historical place to spend a day. I actually almost caught a free tour by the very friendly staff at a souvenir store but i was in a bit of a hurry. Definitely will be returning to spend more time and enjoy everything Ybor has to offer.

The historical walking tour of Ybor City given by Max Herman was so informative & he had lots of fun facts. I highly recommend this tour.

Everyone who is vacationing in Tampa should take the free trolley to Ybor City and dine at the Columbia Restaurant **Make a reservation as it is always crowded** I recommend the 1905 salad, it is fabulous! This is shareable unless you order the 1/2 salad. Also they have Flamenco dancers at times, so I encourage making an inquiry as to when they perform. There is also a 9/11 memorial that everyone should see, very well done. There are also comedy shows and more at various times. I recommend you search for current events when you go.

Sat at bar for over ten minutes before being acknowledged. Then weren't too impressed with any part of experience from then on. Saw several people come and go without ever being acknowledged. Thinking to myself, I wonder how much longer this place will last. This place was in need of a power washing from top to bottom. I would not even think about ordering food here. If the front of the house is this gross and dirty looking I don't even want to think of what's going on in the kitchen. I would not recommend.

Great area for shopping, eating or just walking around. Plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs to choose from. Riding the trolley is fun for the kids. There are usually plenty of places to park.

Best to visit on a weekend when the town is more lively. Weekday visitors may find some museums closed depending on when you visit (e.g. some are only open Wednesday through Sunday). Ybor Centro hosts several different dining options. The TBBC (Tampa Bay Brewing Co.) is a favorite featuring a beautiful outdoor bar/dining space, but for those beer tasting, the adjacent brewery allows for that indoors. Be sure to try the town's free trolley which covers 2+ miles mostly on 8th Avenue. For drivers into town all street parking is free, although limited to 2 hours. Attention should be paid also to signs indicating where parking is restricted and within residential areas.

If you get to visit only one place in Tampa, make sure it's Ybor City. They have it all. It reminds me of Beale Street in Memphis and Duval St in Key West. There are roosters running around free. Its cool to see. There is something for everyone. No joke. You can take a trip to Cuba, Ireland, and Greece in the same half mile stretch. Don't miss this hidden gem.

Very cool area. Great bars and restaurants. The nightlife is very vibrant. The parking wasn't expensive and you can walk around since there's lots to see. If you love cigars you must definitely go for a visit and check out the cigar bars.

Love walking around to see new artwork and stores. Could be more crowded on weekends.
