It's one of those tourist attractions where I think you need to stop by wherever you going. Just support local Anyway is a good rule of thumb.

Oh my gosh! So so happy I made time to pop past for a quick shake! It was delicious and so creamy and yummy! The double thick Milo was absolutely mouth watering 😍 This will definitely now become a mandatory stop whenever I am in East London !

Friesland Milk Bar is not situated in the best of areas but the Best Milkshake - Fiesta Fruit was my favourite. A Huge shout out to the staff, who waited for us even though they were closing at 5pm. We called to say we were on our way but couldn't make it for 5pm and they waited. Thank you so much, it was definitely better than the milkshakes we have in Cape Town

We had a peanut butter double thick large milkshake and an Oreo double think milkshake. Both were really good. Their ice creams were average, but to be fair we went there for the milkshake. Place looks pretty much like a corner cafe from outside and not a place to sit and have a milkshake. That said, they get a thumbs up from me.

What an awesome surprise. We were told to go and visit because they have the best Milkshakes in South Africa and they did not disappoint. My 5yr old is an ice cream connoisseur and she rated the ice cream as her favourite. The Milkshakes were Devine. Would definitely recommend.

Everybody raves about this place. I am not a milk shake fan - ordered the banana and found it to be really sweet for my taste buds. Not only is milk shakes served here but ice cream chips cool drinks and probably more.

Double thick milkshakes are the way to go - if there are Shamrock pies on offer I can recommend grabbing a few as they also go beautifully with the shakes

Been having milkshakes from this place since the 80's best in town

Look your milkshakes taste really good but your Thick /double thick tags are really not accurate to the texture of the milkshakes as they are very runny and there's hardly any difference between both of these textures. Please increase the thickness of a double thick shake so that it IS INDEED THICK.

Best milkshake in town and very cheap for it too. They fast and clean too, staff friendly. When I want a milkshake it's the only place I go!

What a shock and waist of money. I grew up in east London and with freezland milkshake. It use to be the best milkshake ever!!! I bought over the weekend my favourite “small lime double thick milkshake” (haven’t bought from them in 4 years as I moved away). I was so disappointed by how it tasted, there was NO Flavour in it at all didn’t even taste like lime milkshake. My friends did warn me to not buy it as it’s gone down in quality, but I bought it anyway and I had maybe 4 sips and just thru it away. Really why has the quality gone down so much? Was not worth the money I spent and definitely won’t buy again! Sorry to see it go down after all these years.

If u looking to scratch that cold sweet itch.. look no further than Friesland Milk Bar. Service was absolute delight, especially variety of fresh ice cream choices that sent my mood into the moon with delight. My experience here was pleasant, enjoyable. The ice cream I picked sent me back to my childhood. Great place to visit wether you are local or a tourist. Thank you for a wonderful memory, will definitely look to visit again.

Delicious milkshakes. The double thick milo one in particular. Also bought their chocolate sauce which is great on ice-cream.

Friesland is probably the best place to get a real milkshake in SA - you can fight me on that and you will lose. Those who know, know The only drawback is the area that it's in. They have a branch at hemmingways but the nostalgia just isn't there. If you're in the area it's definitely worth trying

Whilst on holiday from Cape Town, my scraving stop was Friesland. It was almost closing time. I called told them it's 10 min before closing and I got to have The best milkshake before I depart for Capetown. The young lad said he would get it ready and if they closed will wait for me. That's service. He actually trusted Me, when I got there he was waiting and the shakes were ready. Thank you for the most amazing milkshakes in South Africa and excellent service. ❤

👍👍 One of the best places to go in East London, especially if you have kids. The food selection is great ranging from breakfasts, lunches and pizzas. Food is fresh and delicious 10/10. Coffee is great and made with skillful hands. Fresh fruit juices make you feel healthier with every sip. Decent select...
